Clearwater BC is the gateway to Wells Gray Provincial Park which is home to over 40 named waterfalls, more than 200 kms of trail systems, exciting wildlife, and rich history. We are located 130 kms North from Kamloops in the heart of the Thompson Valley and on route to Jasper National Park.
In the summer, there is an abundance of outdoor recreation activities. Whitewater rafting is our most popular activity by leaps and bounds! There is also swimming, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, paragliding, jet boat tours, canoeing, kayaking, and mountain biking to name a few. We also have a vibrant farmer's market with fresh and local grown and made items. There is music in the park, car shows, kayak festival, and so much more!
In the winter months, there is ice fishing, sledding, snowshoeing, ice climbing, and the waterfalls are spectacular when they are frozen!

Positives: Great wifi, pristine washrooms/showers, site 4 nice river view, friendly/helpful hosts who allowed us a late checkout so we could ride the bike trails before leaving, happily charged the trailer and filled up the water tank before heading back off grid.
Slight negative: a little close to the road (but did not disturb sleep), sites have no privacy from each other, expensive (but our views are warped as we had been camping for free/$7.50/max of $35 per night till this point and this was our treat/regroup/check emails/refill/repower night)

We loved staying on Denise and Korys property and getting to stay in Periwinkle was absolutely fantastic. They are incredible hosts and the property is large with plenty of tree coverage for those hot days and a beautiful beach right at your toes. We had our dog Rundle out who couldn’t have been happier to sleep in the shade and swim every day. Lots to do and see in the area that’s worth checking out! We’ll be back!

What an absolutely spectacular property. We parked our motor home on one of the 4 full hook up sites. It's right on the river with a little private beach. So clean and so lovely. I would highly recommend staying here. A cute little town too.

The campsite is in a beautiful location, especially site 4 where we were, with a view of the river. Everyone has their privacy. Everything is very well maintained and the washrooms are always clean. We really appreciated the shower mat.
Thank you for suggesting activities for us to do. We went rafting with Liquid Lifestyles Whitewater Rafting. They were very good and knowledgeable!
And Clearwater is also a truly magnificent place!

Having your morning coffee by the river, watching the bald eagles across the river, the calmness of the area, and having the owners' horses keep us company - it can’t get better than that. The hosts are incredibly welcoming and responsive to any requests or concerns. Periwinkle is very cute and the lake is fabulously clear and warm. Do remember that this is a 50+ year old vintage trailer so do go with the appropriate expectations as to little quirks and foibles. It was an overall charming and pleasant experience.

Highly recommend Lindsay’s place. Her husband was helpful in showing us how to get to our camp. The view from the site was beautiful - and the land is very private. You can’t see the other campers so it feels like it’s all to yourselves! I’d definitely go back.

This was a beautiful secluded paradise. Bald eagles greeting us, the freezing but refreshing river right in front of our campsite, and friendly horses roaming around nearby! Could not recommend this spot more, the farm tour is a must as well. 11/10 experience :)

We absolutely loved staying at Lindsay and Peter’s. the location was exceptional. The stars, moon, river and mountains, eagles soaring and horses roaming in the fields. Beds in the TV are comfy and stove and toilet work great. They provided water and some glow sticks and bubbles for my daughters! The TV does rock when someone moves and You can hear the trains.
We did the farm tour and it was fantastic. We learned so much and met so many animals.
I would highly recommend staying here!

We had such a wonderful stay at Herman Lake Wilderness Campground! 🌿✨ Catieln is the most friendly and welcoming host, and her beautiful family made us feel right at home. The campground is so quiet and peaceful—it was exactly the getaway we needed.
Our kids loved petting the sheep, picking berries, spotting butterflies, frogs, and lizards—and were thrilled to see a baby moose! We enjoye fishing at Herman Lake, and White Lake (just minutes away) was also fantastic.
This is truly a beautiful place, we will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly escape! ❤️🐑🎣🦋
