Come and explore the glamping " Portal" style. We offer a unique experience just steps away from beautiful Sproat Lake. This is a retreat-type space and is specifically set up to help you get away from your busy life. There are books, games, hummingbirds, deer, and all that nature has to offer including the Lake, a stone's throw away for a quick dip to rejuvenate the mind and body.
The Portal is 18 feet long and 8 feet wide and is your very own private space. Featuring a beautiful deck for relaxation, reading, star gazing, yoga, or alfresco dining, with the interior offering a queen bed, sofa small table and two chairs. Oh so cozy and romantic. There is a fancy outhouse that flushes water and is equipped with a sink. This space is best suited for a single, a couple, and possibly a fur baby and/or little one.
We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house.
If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favourite blanket or bed to sleep on. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended.
The Portal has internet and spotty cell service. There is an outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Call Doordash to deliver a meal from one of our local restaurants, such as Sproat Lake Landing, or bring a picnic to enjoy.
Canoe $40.00 per day $200 deposit.
Please bring your own PFD and any personal protective gear you may require.

We supply plates, cutlery, etc. please bring your own pots pans.

6.6 acre property that is a small farm, still lots of trees, a small seasonal creek in the back, a duck pond with a boat to paddle around with or just float around. we raise layer hens so there are fresh free range eggs available. we also raise pork and broiler chickens periodically throughout the year. there is easy access to logging road for mountain biking or hiking. this property is a small piece of wilderness yet only 4km to town. The camp sites surround the pond and there is a choice of lots of sun and light or shaded under the trees. The sites can be used by R.V or tent. there is an outhouse onsite for your convenience.

Here, the process behind cloth begins in place: in soil, in pasture, in the care of animals, and in the rhythms of the seasons.
All sites are walk-in only, preserving the quiet and integrity of the land. Guests are asked to remain within marked areas to support ongoing regeneration.
Each tent is intentionally and comfortably appointed for the 2026 season while remaining fully off-grid. Please bring your own drinking water and come prepared for a more mindful, unplugged experience.
The land is shared with wildlife (bears, cougars, elk, deer, and many others). A secure sea can is provided for storing all food and scented items.
For those wishing to deepen their understanding, guided farm walks are offered Saturdays at 4 PM, offering a closer look at the working systems behind the landscape.
To ensure the safety of guests, livestock, and working animals:

We loved the well thought out camping area by the pond. It was such a relief to stay in a place that wasn't overly crowded. Having a baby, a toddler and large unique dogs, the public are constantly making comments or stopping to try to pet the dogs. Having a space with this quiet, shady set up was so peaceful, even my son didn't want to leave. Thank-You for such an incredible opportunity to stay on your land.

I loved my stay at the portal! So close to the lake, perfect for a morning swim - close to town to get groceries/food, on a very quiet road (probably one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time). Host was kind and helpful! Would recommend for a couple or a solitary stay (would be a great place to use as a writing retreat, I will have to book again!)

We absolutely loved the cabin we stayed at. I would definitely recommend this place for a summer getaway. Andrew and his partner were amazing and so welcoming and make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The lake was like a 3 minute walk down and had incredible views plus was amazing to swim in. Would definitely come back here again thank you so much Andrew 😄

Pretty great place! Always something going on between the campers, the surf shop, the pizza place, the coffee bar, & the bike shop! Camp area was fine! Not a ton of privacy, but enough. Porta-potty’s were fine, clean enough for what they are. Super friendly staff. Ended up taking surfing lessons from them! The guy at the ebike rental place on the property even helped me fix my own bike free of charge!! 10/10 would stay again, great place, great locations

We enjoyed a very peaceful stay on Jamie‘s weed canary farm. The site beside a small pond is beautiful, and the setting was complemented by birds and a couple deer walking through. Jamie was very welcoming and flexible, and even gave us some eggs and flowers. We‘d love to come again!

Great place! Clean and well maintained, including the outhouses. My partner and I stayed at site #23 and camped in our Subaru Forester. The person working the campground office was kind and helpful, and there was a decent amount of space at our site. The location is excellent as it is between both Tofino and Ukee. It isn't very private (though, more private that other campgrounds we were looking at, as JX has some trees between sites), and one of the other campers was a little nosy, but everything else was great!
