Description

Year-round camping at the Deschutes River Campground gives you the opportunity to experience riverside reverie in all seasons. At Deschutes the spring wildflowers break early, making spring camping particularly inspiring. You will find electrical sites with water (although water is shut off in the winter), primitive sites with drinking water and restrooms nearby, 4 group RV/Tent camping areas, picnic tables, fire rings, flush toilets and hot showers. The trade-off for your sweet riverside camping nook is the proximity to train tracks and the distinct lullabye of whistles blowing in the night.

An active train track runs across the river, so be prepared to be woken up in the middle of the night...but then you get to look at the incredible expanse of stars in the night sky before you drift off again.

This park gets very crowded and a reservation is need for any summer time camping.

Bring layers, it can get cold at night, and in the canyon very windy at times. Rattlesnake kit is also a good item to have stored. Great fly fishing opportunities. Feel free to reach out for any fishing tips!

If you want to get a little bit off-the-beaten-path, pack up your camping + fishing gear on your bike and ride a few miles down the gravel trail to one of the dispersed campsites along the river.
