Illinois Beach Campground

We loved it here and I highly recommend sites 246-249 because these are the full shade sites. These sites back up to a green area and are shaded by tall pine trees. It smells glorius. The walk to the beach is about 5 minutes by foot and your camp fee pays for a private beach feeling. You also have the privilege of enjoying a vacant midcentury building for a quick reenactment of the "Walking Dead" and photo ops.

Not a lot of shade, bring canopy.

Great campground for a quick getaway from the city. We try to camp here every year, but sites book fast.

Has alcohol-free zones if you'd like to avoid the possibility of late night tom-foolery that may be associated with alcoholic revelry.
