Mountain View Tent Sites(2)

1 site ¡ Tent1 acre ¡ Morgan, UT
Learn more about this land: This tent site is right in a little scrub oak forest, nestled in the foothills below Snowbasin. Beautiful views of Morgan Valley, Snowbasin Ski resort, and a gateway to fun. We are semi-rural, so expect wild turkeys randomly visiting, along with our neighbor's chickens, and a rooster crowing. Maybe even a deer or moose, if lucky. A starry sky, because we don't have much light pollution. The site itself is tucked behind a hill, perfect for privacy, and is surrounded by scrub oak trees. Campers are welcome to use the fire pit area chairs and our portable propane fire place. There are some plug in bistro lights for camping ambiance and a power strip. There is drinkable water at the faucet by our front porch. Cooking with a propane camp stove is ok. There is a screened compost toilet, power strip for charging needs, and a picnic table at each site, Because of Utah's extreme drought, no smoking is permitted. Generally no dogs except service, but perhaps negotiable. The sites are a short walk down a trail, so not wheelchair accessible. The parking spot is level, & could work for a rooftop tent or camper van, but it is in partial view of my neighbor's house, which the camp sites are not. Things to do: You can hike right from the site to Strawberry Creek (about 3 mile trail) 10 minutes from Snowbasin (skiing, hiking, mountain biking) 15 minutes from Morgan ( ATV rentals, Horseback riding, burgers and bars) 15 minutes from Ogden ( you would never notice) 15 minutes from tubing the Weber river 20 minutes from Boating or swimming at Pineview in Eden, or in East Canyon

Second Chance Ranch

1 site ¡ Tent1 acre ¡ Morgan, UT
My husband Shaun and I fell into rescuing horses quite by accident.  We started a non-profit to promote the Rescue, Rehab, Retrain and Rehome method to get horses out of bad situations and into good homes. We are a small rescue and hope to be much bigger one day!  Please come visit, enjoy our beautiful property and support an amazing non-profit cause while you are at it! Learn more about this land:We are a non-profit horse rescue situated on one acre. The best description I can give of our property is that it's great for a convenient and quaint "Stop and Sleep".  This is because we are located right off of the old main highway and have two neighbors within eyesight from the house. This site is very convenient for quick stays since it is so CLOSE TO THE HIGHWAY this makes it convenient but may not be appropriate for very light sleepers or for extended stays.  The camping area is simple, with wild grass and a fire pit, bordered by the river on one side and the horse pasture on the other.  You can see and hear the river easily April-July. The river is seasonal and does dry up in mid July-August. Drinkable hose water is available near the house.  If you want a ranch-style camping experience with lots of interaction with your hosts and opportunity for adventure then you have chosen the right camping location! You are welcome to join in the daily choring activities or choose to be taken on a scenic trail ride or thrilling guided gallop on beautiful and well-trained rescue horses.PLEASE NOTE: The bathroom is located in our house and has a flushable toilet and shower with hot water. Bathroom hours are 8am-9pm.  Parking is located a few hundred feet from the campsite, just off of the road.  You must walk a few hundred feet to get to the campsite and you cannot pull your vehicle right up to it. While we do welcome car campers and pop-up trailers, just know you won't be parked at the campsite if you choose to sleep this way.  We look forward to having you camp with us!

RIVER BEND CAMP GROUND

3 sites ¡ RVs, Tents1 acre ¡ Morgan, UT
We have ten acres that our home sit on but about 9 acres consist of dry farm grass. We use 1 acre for camping and parking. The Weber river runs across the back of our property where we have a campground with communal tables and firepit. We do have some firewood available but you may want to bring your own. Site selection is determined by type of sleeping accomodations. We allow 2 adults per site and/or 2 adults and children per site. (Exceptions must be approved) We are not a public campground and only list through Hipcamp and so our property is posted with NO TRESPASSING SIGNS. It is very important to let us know your approximate arrival time so that we can guide you down to the campgrounds and get you the best spot base on your type of camping. (Sleep in vehicle versus tent campers) One draw back to our property is that we are within 1/2 mile of a well use highway (US 84) and railroad track. We have only had one camper who was concerned about the noise. Here at the house we don't notice it and maybe we are just use to it. Limited swimming and use of paddle board base on river conditions. During the winter we occasionally get snowed in and in the spring and early summer we experience high water based on snow melt which makes use of the river extremely dangerous. Limited fishing is based on water levels with fly fishing being the best however you can use lures . We would prefer catch and release because the river is not stocked by the Utah fish and game. So, we are dependent on normal reproduction of the fish. ALL UTAH FISHING REGULATION APPLY. WE HAVE INDICATED WHEEL CHAIR ACCESSIBLE. THE WHOLE AREA IS BASICLLY LEVEL AND GRASS AND BARK COVERED.

Seabase's water was visited by the pioneers on the way to California, and then was owned by Grantsville City as a "swimming hole", and now is a SCUBA and snorkeling resort.& event locationn. Moose Meadow

2 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents1 acre ¡ Brighton, UT
This is a private driveway in a great location in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The driveway is long and surrounded by aspen, abutting the "old" unused house on my property, so it is private. Although near the main road, the site feels private. You are less than 1 minute walk to Big Cottonwood Creek, and there is hiking out the door in multiple directions, as well as easy biking to Solitude Resort. As a bonus, you are 1/4 mile from Silver Fork Lodge if you get a hankering for a prepared meal. Please note that there are NO DOGS allowed in Big or Little Cottonwood canyons. There is a high fine if so. So this is not an appropriate spot to bring your four-legged friends unfortunately.

The best camping near Antelope Island State Park guide

Overview

About

Accessible via a seven-mile causeway from the mainland, Antelope Island is Great Salt Lake’s largest island and a haven for millions of migratory birds who stop off here on their way to warmer locales. Antelope Island is also home to a free-roaming herd of bison and an outdoor cafe that claims to have the best buffalo burger in the state. Hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding are popular activities on the island, and there’s even a beach if you’d like to find out for yourself if you really do float in the lake.

  • All campsites include picnic tables, fire pits, and vault toilets.
  • No drinking water is available at the campgrounds. Drinking water is available at the visitor center and beach facilities.
  • Be prepared for windy conditions. Make sure to secure tents and other camping equipment well.
  • Dogs are allowed on Antelope Island but must be kept on a maximum six-foot leash. Dogs are not allowed in beach areas or on the Frary Peak or Sentry trails.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Reservations for Antelope Island State Park campsites are available on a four-month rolling basis and can be made online or over the phone.
  2. Reservations are recommended for holiday weekends and during the bison roundup event.
  3. Electric hookups are only available in the upper loop of the Bridger Bay Campground. These sites are available for an additional fee and are best for self-contained RVs.
  4. Campsites are typically available without a reservation the rest of the year, especially during mid-week.

When to go

Antelope Island State Park is open year-round. Early spring and fall are the best times for camping, hiking, and mountain biking on the island. Biting gnats are a problem on the island from late spring and early summer so avoid these times altogether if you can. Other than a covered picnic table, the campsites offer no shade, and summer temperatures often exceed 100°F.
