We're excited to announce the addition of a rustic, off-grid, one-room log cabin with bunkie, available for your 2-night minimum stay. Join us on our family farm. Fall is approaching and our first three sites will close Sunday Sept 17th. For self contained vehicles looking for an off season stay, please message us and we can see how we can provide a spot. We have begun work on our next expansion, and next spring will be happy to open our additional campsites for ten total sites. Bookings are open for stays beginning May 1st, 2024, weather permitting. In the meantime, we have our first few sites open to let you join us and relax in the forest. Site 1 and 2 are drive-in sites. Site 3 is a tent-only site. These sites will welcome you to recharge in nature. Dark night skies will open you to all the majesty of our solar system. Each standard campsite has a flat gravel surface suitable for tents, smaller RV's, shorter travel trailers, truck campers, rooftop tents, camper vans and similar. We have a tent pad site as well for cyclists or motorbikes. Small trailers up to 16 feet may be usable, but access may be tight. Please note, that while there is a campfire ban, camp stoves and propane fire pits are permitted. Easy access to Mt Washington and Strathcona Park, local beaches, rivers and more. We are open for camping till September 30th and will close until April 1st, 2024.

Hundreds of kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the island. Several guiding companies give provide access to the world class kayaking and scuba diving off of Quadra's shores. Do all that... or simply grab a book and curl up beside the pond. *** Winter Comment*** The cabin is winterized. The stove is actually to hot for the size of the cabin. It requires a little practice timing your fire and opening windows to keep it at the best temperature. Since we are all 'Hip" here... it just adds to the adventure. :) Oh yeah... bring boots. :) About once a year a rainstorm intense enough to overflow the stream you need to cross to the cabin overflows. In that case it is a bit of challenge getting there.

For an intimate camping experience near Campbell River on central Vancouver Island, visit Loveland Bay Provincial Park, a small, beautifully situated area with camping, swimming, fishing, and boating directly onto Campbell Lake. Quiet and secluded, Loveland Bay and nearby Morton Lake Provincial Park are often used as base camps from which to start or end the Sayward Forest Canoe Route, as well as for day trips to and from the nearby communities of Gold River, Sayward, Kelsey Bay, and Quadra and Cortes Islands. The area is ideal for summer days spent enjoying the water, but you can also simply relax on the sandy beach between lake swims. Loveland Bay Provincial Park has 53 vehicle-accessible campsites with lake views, the majority of which are reservable from May to the end of September.

Tips for snagging a campsite

Make plans early to reserve a campsite in Loveland Bay Provincial Park. You can reserve campsites two months to the date of your arrival, beginning in March.
All campsite reservations must be made by phone or online at Discover Camping, the BC Parks reservation portal. When reservations are unavailable, all campsites function as first-come, first-served sites.
Be sure to check seasonal opening and closing dates.
Due to popularity, stays are limited to seven days.

When to go

Loveland Bay Provincial Park is busiest during the summer months of July and August when day trippers from nearby urban centers enjoy the lake amenities. The fall months of September and October feature warm days, cool nights and fewer crowds. The campground in the park is closed in the off-season, though the park remains accessible with limited facilities.

The boat launch at Loveland Bay Provincial Park is suitable for small boats only.
The park has no wifi, and cell phone service may be limited.
Campfires are permitted, and firepits are provided at each campsite. However, visitors should conserve wood, protect the environment by minimizing the use of fires, and bring a portable stove for cooking instead.
