The property is made up of Piñon and Juniper Trees along with sage brush. There is incredible views from camping area . The Natives say this was an ancient hunting grounds and I can see why There is tons of wildlife around. It’s very quiet and peaceful out except when the coyotes are howling at night lol. The forest entrance is just down the rd and on the nw side of me is all public land although the only thing you will see on it is a few cows and wildlife. The sunsets are amazing. We are approx 22 miles from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.. We have great Views of the San Francisco PeakS and Red Butte. This is located right in the middle of unit 9 if you’re a hunter. Our closest neighbor is about Mile away. We have a 1 mile hiking trail. There is plenty of wildlife around Deer Elk and many more . You can access the forest just down the rd from us. This is a true off grid experience we have lived out here for 7 years now and just love it. We can provide you with firewood for your camp spots when u arrive you will have enough wood for the night if you stay longer let us know and we can get you some more. There is a lot of Native American History in the area and have found many arrowheads. There is very little traffic once you go past first two miles so it’s nice and quiet out here. We look forward to meeting you and thank you for considering. There is a few rough spots so just take it slow.

We are a family-owned RV park and tiny home village located 50 minutes from the east entrance to Grand Canyon National Park and only 20 minutes north of Flagstaff, Arizona. Our family -- Adam, Shelley, Zoe, Ava, and Cairo -- purchased the RV park in 2021. The property was a trading post for decades but had fallen into disrepair. We have been busy painting, cleaning and improving the grounds to become a comfortable oasis for your family. Our location on US Hwy 89 on the east side of the highway is only a few miles from the breathtaking aspens of Lockett Meadow, the ruins of Wupatki National Monument and the lava flows at Sunset Crater. The park is a short drive to downtown Flagstaff, and on the way to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Lake Powell, Moab and Durango. Stay the night or as long as you like! Drink in the hibiscus sunrises above the Painted Desert and relax into the long shadows of the San Francisco Peaks. Wander Camp Grand Canyon is a rustic glamping accommodation, located in Dark Sky country, approximately 30 minutes from the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park.
Please be aware that you may encounter other groups during your visit. Our site features numerous glamping tents, and although it is nestled in a secluded area, you may still encounter other individuals.
4WD is recommended! BE PREPARED to drive on rural, unpaved roads, with the potential for both pot holes and large dips along the way. Parking is available as close to tents as possible, typically a short walk of 25-50 feet.
Each of our large, waterproof canvas bell tents - 216 sq. feet, 16 feet in diameter and height - include low profile windows and a large netted door with double zippers for privacy. Inside you'll see they come furnished with not only the necessary camping furniture, but luxury beds with high thread count sheets, plush down comforters, pillows and blankets. A soft rug, side tables and leather wingback chairs give it that touch of home.
We do operate completely off-grid which means no electricity is provided at camp. We provide solar lanterns in each tent for lighting, as well as solar lighted pathways throughout camp; however, you'll definitely want to make sure you take time to enjoy the darkness for star gazing outside of our tent.

Close to the Grand Canyon! Just 1/2 mile off the Arizona Trail! Hike 6 miles to Snowbowl. This darling camper cabin has one bedroom with a queen sized bed (2 guests), and two pull out couches for up to four additional guests. The well stocked kitchen has all the cookware and utensils you'll need for cooking, a propane range, as well as a cooler for your use (bring ice). A gas barbecue is on site as well. The wood stove kicks out a ton of heat to keep you toasty while you sip on steamy hot chocolate that is provided for your enjoyment. Gather around the propane operated firepit in the backyard for some R&R. Bring a hammock 'cuz there are unlimited opportunities for stringing one up! Tons of activities will keep you occupied, including hiking and biking on the nearby Arizona Trail (just 1/2 mile away), or even sledding on your very own private 2 acre piece of paradise! What's even better is the property backs onto the National Forest, for unlimited enjoyment of nature. In the evening crack open a book, or start playing a game with your besties to close out a long day. The property is completely off the grid, making it very appealing to those travelers and adventurers who want to create a minimal carbon footprint on their vacation. The kitchen sink has a hand pump that draws water from under the sink from a 10 gallon water jug. You can refill the jug as needed from a hand pump located in the back yard. There is solar powered lighting and a USB phone charger station. There is no electrical power available. Cell service is available in the area depending on your carrier. The outdoor composting toilet is super clean with little or no odor. The cabin is located at 8200' in the San Francisco Peaks in the pines and aspens. Snowshoe or cross country ski, go sledding or snowmobiling, or just good old fashioned relaxation will make the time fly by. If that's not enough check this out:(a) it's just 5 miles to the Arizona Nordic Center for incredible cross country ski trails(b) it's just 18 miles to Snowbowl for chairlift rides or world class skiing(c) it's just 20 miles to the hip town of Flagstaff for fantastic restaurants, golfing, shopping, coffee shops and museums(d) it's just 60 miles to historic Williams with the Bearizona wildlife park and the popular Grand Canyon Railway(e) it's just 55 miles to the world famous Grand Canyon. (g) and last but not least, it's right next to the Kendrick Snowmobile Trails, which offers 54 miles of unbeatable snowmobile adventures! The property is located approximately 2.1 miles off the main highway down a forest service road. The road is in excellent shape during the summer months. During winter you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access the property, particularly if there has been a significant snowfall recently. During a snowy period, access may require either cross country skiing, snowshoeing or snowmobiling to the property from the main highway (approx 2.1 miles). If you get stuck on the road it will be your own responsibility. Please check with the owner a couple days prior to your visit to check on road conditions during the winter!
Pets must be well behaved and cleaned up after, including excessive animal hair. Leash laws apply to Coconino National Forest. Please do not book the Glamper Cabin if you plan to bring a pet which is known to be aggressive or unpredictable in nature, including breeds or mixed breeds such as pitbulls, rottweilers, bullmastiff and American Bulldog. We are not responsible for any interactions your pets may have with wildlife or other pets in the area.

Overview
About
Sunset Crater many get its name from the volcanic rim's brilliant red rocks, but there's more to explore see than just the volcano. The park also contains unique geologic features like lava fields and cinder deposits. Features so unique that NASA astronauts once used this area to practice piloting the lunar rover!
Start your journey at the visitor center, where you can watch a quick video exploring the history and formation of the volcano. Traveling with children? Pick up a Junior Ranger Book so kids can complete activities and earn a Junior Ranger badge.
From the visitor's center, walk the Lava's Edge Trail which passes by the Bonito Lava Flow. The trail then carries on to the main attraction—Sunset Crater. Due to erosion, hiking to the top is prohibited. Instead, you can hike near the base on the Lava Flow Trail. This one-mile loop trail also has amazing views of the nearby San Francisco Peaks, the highest mountain range in Arizona.
