I loved the quiet solitude of Clove and Keith's land. The sunsets and sunrises were beautiful. There is so much to say and enjoy about their land. I saw wild horses running across the plains. The landscape and peace that I encountered was worth the drive. I would defiantly go back and looking forward to it!!

We absolutely loved this campsite it was extremely private and remote. If you are not looking for a 1 hour off of the highway dirt road trek in just be aware. BUT if you are looking for 40 acres of expansive desert to explore nearly all to yourself this is the place for you ! Clove and Keith just bought this property and did a great job welcoming us and making sure we got settled okay. Overall we had a quick but great stop here feels like youre on mars.

Outstanding stay!!! A couple important notes. First, Google maps was on point, Apple Maps didn’t understand the assignment. Second, you must arrive before dark because of the landscape. That said, Clove and Keith went above and beyond to help me arrive and get settled. Perfect for stargazing and hiking while enjoying the rock formations. If I wander back this way I’ll definitely stay here again.

Everything went well. Donavan was there to greet us when we pulled in, he was very nice and accommodating. He showed us the way to our site, asked if we needed any help and then left us to ourselves. The site was easy to find, 8 miles off rt 89, very safe, very clean and beautiful. The stars were fantastic, the night was perfect, the site was private and quiet. I would highly recommend.

This was my second time staying at Naked Skull. The weather was great, made for a enjoyable stay in the high desert. Peace and Quiet, moon and star gazing in the dark skies. Donavin takes great care of the campers, comes by to check on my needs, Linda and Donavin are great hosts, super friendly.

I had an awesome stay! The property was beautiful and my site was amazing. Donavin was super cool and took me on a tour of the property. He was super helpful in getting my rig situated too and even checked in to make sure that I had a good stay. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it to anyone.

With no road noise and no artificial lights other than a couple on the property this is a great location to view the stars and enjoy the quiet of Northern Arizona. Plenty of room to walk about and enjoy yourself with no distractions.

Oh my gosh- where to even start! What an amazing place to camp! The views are stunning, the wildlife is incredible, Linda and Donavin are the kindest people ever!!! Me and Linda had a great talk while it rained and it was so amazing. If you’re looking to get away from the craziness of life, then this is the place! Reconnect with nature! I honestly had the best time I’ve ever had camping, the wild horses were a big plus lol, but seriously don’t hesitate on camping here! you will not regret it! It’s out there but worth the drive! I definitely will be back for another one of a kind camping experience 💚

It was great, but the wind was terrible, they were great host, privacy was great, next time bringing my motorhome it was a little tough in a tent, beautiful views, overall it was really good, will do it again, it is a7 mile dirt road. But it's no bad, I will be back, saw some wild horses which was cool, rented a bike went for a ride, that was fun, the bathroom was clean, what more can I say

Tent camping in a private little campsite set against beautiful red rock. About 7.5 miles down a dirt road but worth the incredible 365° landscape at sunset. Would absolutely recommend for the adventurous.

I enjoyed the privacy and solitude. The hoasts were accommodating and answered any questions I had thoroughly.
One thing that really caught my attention was that the scenery was breathtaking. I noticed how much the land has evolved and really impressed with how there were many rock formations that seemed to defy gravity.
Donovin pointed out some rock formations that made it clear how his campground got it's name.
And yes... I did get to enjoy getting Sun on places that haven't seen daylight in quite a while, and with no feeling of judgment whatsoever.

We were in Winslow AZ, not Standing on a corner but we’re kinda frustrated with every other campground with a great website, not having room for us. The nudist component just encouraged our sense of adventure and we didn’t even see any naked people. Donavan was a great host and helped us to an incredible site with plenty of wind shelter behind desert rock features. Thankful they took our booking just an hour and a half before we arrived. Truly an incredible place to camp. Not for the faint of heart.

This was awesome, by far one of the more beautiful and remote none forested location I have ever camped in. Don was a wonderful host and very helpful. The area was so pretty. I even saw a band of mustangs😁😁😁😁.

We’ve been traveling from the Ca. Foothills to camp in the red rock country for close to 50 years. In the old days, we could arrive at a place like Valley of Fire or Desert View without advance notice and score a site. Now, no. Thank goodness for Hipcamp. The route between Flagstaff and Utah was always a camping challenge. This May we found Naked Skull, liked what we saw and booked four nights. Linda put us in 7T and we loved it. Quiet wide open vistas in a rock protected site where we parked our pop up. Lots of lizards, a few wild horses and exquisite sky. Linda and Donavin were attentive hosts, made sure we were fine and gave us friendly space. Now that we have a place to stay, we’ll be taking 89 more often.

This is one of the coolest campgrounds I’ve ever stayed at! Donavin and Linda are two of the most down-to-people I’ve ever meet. They will accommodate your every need. This is also one of the best mountain bike (clothing optional) places to ride. All I can say is this is a must stay for the outdoor enthusiast.

A very peaceful, safe place, great views from the hilltops. There are lots of paths to take and explore the area nude very comfortably. Also a very dark sky area millions of stars.. I got a recommendation from a from a guy that had recently stayed there for an extended period and had a very enjoyable stay, I agreed with his opinion. Donavin checked with me a couple times a day to make sure all was well. Donavin and Linda are great hosts. The best thing I can say is that I will return as soon as I am able.

The last spectacular sunset lingers out to the west. My campsite, a secluded cove surrounded by sandstone boulders. This could be the best campsite I have ever stayed. Naked Skull is sixty-five acres located seven miles off HWY-89. Access is a bumpy but maintained dirt road. This campground caught my eye because of the proximity to the Grand Canyon and also because it is clothing optional. The sites are well spaced out providing privacy and solitude from other campers. Wild stallions roam the property. The lack of light pollution allows for extreme sky watching. A wonderous sunset, a sea of stars fill the sky, and a sunrise that brings tears to the eyes. My only criticism is that I only stayed one night. I would highly recommend Naked Skull to those seeking Solitude. Thank you to the hosts for being so welcoming.

Naked skull was a fabulous experience. From wild horses greeting me a mile from the campground, to super friendly hosts, dark sky star gazing, geology, yoga in the wide open and a 360 degree view of the horizon. I recommend the guided tour also. Bring a group, they have room.
Trust the directions and take it slow. I hope to stay longer next time.

What an amazing property! We had the most incredible camping experience at this site. The property itself is stunning with its incredible views especially during sunset!
Donavin and Linda were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Moving our tent site to a more secluded area blocking us from the wind the night of our stay which was very thoughtful. Their directions to the site were spot-on, which made finding our way there a breeze.
I cannot recommend this camping site enough, it's a true gem!

This was my first time at a Hipcamp and was pleasantly surprised. Actually, this place was nothing short of awesome. The hosts, Linda and Donavin, were over the top helpful, welcoming, and accommodating. Donavin provided an unexpected tour of the property upon my arrival, pointed out the highlights, and enumerated the local flora and fauna, including the wild mustangs. This 60 acre property is remote and relatively untouched which is a large part of its appeal. Adjoining properties are largely undeveloped, thereby giving a sense of the varied desert landscape as far as the eye can see. Some beautiful views are available from your campsite with Humphrey’s Peak (Arizona’s tallest at 12633 ft) to the south and the Colorado plateau to the north. The 7 mile road off of Route 89 to this location is unpaved, mildly rutted at times, but posed no problem at all. To navigate to this property, I would suggest using the provided Google map’s pin to avoid any confusion. As others noted, the stargazing is absolutely amazing, weather permitting. Most, if not all sites, have a fire ring and mine was provided with some firewood. I cannot overstate what a great time that I had conversing with wonderful and interesting couple that shared a campfire with me. All in all, a wonderful experience!

It’s fate that you are looking at my review so now you need to follow thur and experience this place. Wow!!! My wife and I decided to go to naked skull to have an off grid experience. Our expectations were exceeded by 1000%. The grounds are simply amazing and breathtaking. Watching the wild horses roam the area from the hill tops is something you cannot explain just purely magical . All of the campsites are different and peaceful we changed sites when Donavin showed us around but would be happy to stay anywhere on the grounds. Campfires under the stars with more stars than anywhere I have camped in my life! It’s a stunning sky. We had just come from Sedona and naked skulls has sunsets that match Sedona.. if you are considering staying here I would highly recommend it in fact there is no way you should pass up the opportunity. We had planned on just spending our nights hanging together alone at our campsite but met another camper that was staying there and had a wonderful time talking by the campfire we were lucky to meet such an incredible guy. We will be back for a longer visit for sure everyone need to experience naked skulls at least once in their lifetime!!!
