You can also walk the cretan labyrinth, to bring balance. catherdral tin roof cabin has enough space for dinning, entertaining and yoga, it also has a sleeping loft for 2 people, and can be used as a reading nook, bring your own sleeping bags, pillows, and towels and you are welcome to set up a tent on the outdoor camping site. There is a heated full pressure shower, compost toilet and an outdoor sink and cooking station. The site is booked for complete privacy, only one group booking at a time, so you have your own private spot in the woods. There is a fireplace in the cabin with plenty of wood. The floor is mostly nature stepping stones, hand picked from the woods. The cabin is nestled in a moss and fern magical woods with fireflies, owls, deer, and foxes. There are groomed peaceful walking trails. A sphere shaped cooking outdoor fireplace under firefly solar lights adds to the magical experience. There are wonderful activates such as fishing, kayaking (Safari Kayak) and bike trails in the local area. Go back in time and experience the rare wisdom of the sugar maple trees that are over 150 feet tall. You will never want to leave, come back and see the trees colourful splendor in the fall and in early spring we plan to have hands on maple syrup making.

When booking a campsite please only include any guests over 12 years of age in your guest count. Children under 12 do not need to be included in your booking. Contact us to inquire about large group and event rates. We host LARPing weekends twice a month. We also have a limited number of seasonal sites available from June to September. I love this property and all the people who visit us, many have become extended family and for this I am grateful. There is nothing nicer than to have people drop by and spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend, sometime when I get real lucky it's for a longer period of time :-)

ENGLISH WILL FOLLOW La yourte du Torrent offre une vue sur une rivière tout en cascades. C'est un petit cocon enveloppant un coeur de la forêt. Vous prendrez votre café le matin au coin du feu, vous irez vous balader en canot l'après-midi sur lac Chantelle, vous regarderez les étoiles le soir à travers le dôme vitré, avant de vous endormir sous le doux son de la rivière. Formule Retraite solo en semaine, plus d'infos sur Refuges le Torrent. ACCÈS À LA RIVIÈRE ET AU LAC La yourte se situe au bord de la rivière. Vous aurez un accès exclusif à la berge et ses installations (rond de feu, table à pique-nique, tipi suspendu, hamacs). L'eau coule à travers les rochers. La rivière est plus creuse à certains endroits. L'été, on peut s'y immerger complètement et nager (baignade non surveillée). Le lac Chantelle lac se trouve à une quinzaine de minutes de marche, à l'extérieur du site. On y accède par une petite plage gazonnée partagée avec les résidents du lac. Parlez-en à votre hôte. MÉNAGE AUTONOME ET GESTION DES DÉCHETS La formule autonome vous permet de profiter des lieux plus longtemps le jour de votre départ (vous pouvez rester jusqu’à 14h). Vous vous chargez de laisser le lieu aussi propre que vous l’avez trouvé (laver et ranger la vaisselle utilisée, passer l'aspirateur, etc.). Au refuges Le torrent, nous avons à coeur de minimiser l'impact écologique de la présence humaine au sein de la forêt. Tout au long de votre séjour, nous vous invitons à faire le tri de vos déchets: les matières recyclables dans le bac de recyclage à l'intérieur de la yourte, les matières compostables dans le bac à compost à quelques pas à l'extérieur de la yourte. ARRIVÉE ET DÉPART L’arrivée se fait de façon autonome. L’emplacement des clés vous sera communiqué la veille de votre séjour. L’arrivée est possible dès 16h et le départ au plus tard à 14h. PARKING ET TRAJET JUSQU’À LA YOURTE Le stationnement est gratuit. Il y a 10 minutes de marche entre le stationnement et la yourte, le long d’un sentier pédestre. It is a cozy cocoon nestled in the heart of the forest. Enjoy your morning coffee by the fire, go for an afternoon canoe ride on Lake Chantelle, and gaze at the stars through the glass dome in the evening before drifting off to sleep to the soothing sound of the river. Mid-week solo retreat package available; find out more at Refuges le Torrent. ACCESS TO THE RIVER AND LAKE The yurt is located right by the river. You will have exclusive access to the riverbank and its amenities (fire pit, picnic table, hanging tipi, and hammocks). The water flows over rocky terrain, with deeper sections in certain areas. In summer, you can fully immerse yourself and swim (unsupervised swimming). BEDDING ARRANGEMENT ✓ 2 single beds that convert into a comfortable king-size bed (the two singles lock together, leaving no gap or wooden bar in the middle); ✓ Additional memory foam floor mattress. AMENITIES ✓ Electricity provided by solar panels (supply varies depending on weather conditions) 🔆 ✓ Kitchen counter with sink (supplied by a reservoir under the sink that you fill yourself with river water). A tap with a built-in pump makes washing hands and dishes easy 💦 ✓ Electric cooler (functions like a small refrigerator) ❄️ ✓ Gas stove (gas included) 🍽️ ✓ BBQ (available 3 seasons; gas included) ✓ All meal essentials (plates, bowls, utensils, wine glasses, pots/pans, bottle opener, etc.) 🍷 ✓ Private dry toilet (located just outside the yurt) 🌿 ✓ Small low-flow outdoor shower—cold water only (available only during frost-free periods) 🐳 ✓ Wood stove and fire pit (firewood included) 🔥 ✓ Blankets, duvets, and pillows (please bring your own bed sheets) 🛌 BED SHEETS Sheet and towel sets are available for rent at a cost of $22 (single bed) and $30 (king bed). Please speak to your host. SELF-CLEANING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT The self-cleaning option allows you to enjoy the premises longer on your departure day (you may stay until 2:00 PM). You are responsible for leaving the space as clean as you found it (washing and putting away used dishes, vacuuming, etc.). At Refuges Le Torrent, we are committed to minimizing the ecological impact of human presence in the forest. Throughout your stay, we ask that you sort your waste: place recyclables in the bin inside the yurt and compostables in the compost bin located just a few steps outside. ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE Check-in is self-service. You will receive information regarding key access the day before your stay. Check-in is available from 4:00 PM, and check-out is by 2:00 PM at the latest. PARKING AND WALK TO THE YURT Parking is free. It is a 10-minute walk from the parking area to the yurt along a footpath. Two wheelbarrows are available on-site in summer, and a sled in winter; you will find them in the parking area. PETS Dogs are welcome! Note that the cabin itself isn’t very private, and there are windows on 3 sides (including at the bunks, and there isn’t a curtain on any of them) so it’s hard to change The google map result for the place is the correct place, just drive further into the gravel road to the very end There is a water jug for washing hands and drinking inside the cabin There is a jug to wash hands outside of the out house The stove is small and burns for around 1 hour when full fire kindling sticks work better than big logs for burning in it

We had an amazing time on Matthew's land! We had so much fun exploring all the little lakes with his canoe, and our camp site by the river felt like it was right out of a fairy tale. An absolute must for nature lovers - the forests are so healthy and incredibly biodiverse, and Matthew was kind enough to guide us directly to our site himself. A very responsive and friendly host. Our only regret is not staying long enough. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I had the best time camping here! It’s such a cozy and peaceful spot. The little camper is very cute, well-equipped, and kept very clean. The dry toilet was also clean and not too far from the campsite. The private beach and river across the road are so beautiful and fun to enjoy. The fact that the campsite is pet-friendly is a huge plus as well! We would definitely recommend coming here if you’re looking to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. The hosts are very friendly, and we will definitely be going back! 🥰

2 nights at Camp dans Rouge/ Camp in Red

Clean and comfortable cabin and facilities. We had a lovely time, although our visit was cut short (by a chronic illness, no issues at all with the camp). Rae's directions were spot on and we had no trouble getting there. We took a drive into a nearby town, a walk down the camp road, made dinner on the bbq, watched a movie in the screen tent in the dark :) Rae was warm and welcoming, and very helpful. We're looking forward to going back for some guided hiking!

What a lovely spot! The view from the bed was amazing, lac #2 was beautiful to swim in, and the bathroom was clean. Matthew and his son Benjamin are super nice people. Would highly recommend this place to other people. Just make sure your car can handle rocks and dips in the road.

Really nice spot, not too far from the nice scenic Lac à la Loutre. The cabin site also had space for us to set up a tent and hammock. Plenty of wood available for campfires every night and morning. Would definitely come back!

Weekend Trip to Tamarak Grove

Tamara’s Grove is even cuter in person! What a lovely, cozy, charming, and clean RV! And the property seems straight out of a fairytale! Ideal for couples or anyone who wants to escape the frantic and sometimes overwhelming energy of the city. Bren and Lisa were absolutely wonderful and delightful—very attentive to our needs. We felt very welcome and well taken care of. Thank you again, and we hope to see you soon!

Very beautiful place!! So happy to have found it. The pull through site is very large and very easy to pull right in. Has a really nice little private deck right by the water to sit on. Hammocks all over, nice adirondack chairs everywhere. Theres a really nice common area with a mosquito tent with a table inside, a bbq and beach area! Nice place to swim. Brien is a fantastic host. Super friendly. Very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely go back!

This place is quite magical. Being in one of the cabins on a cliff was an immersive experience, surrounded by beautiful trees with a view of the lake, like sleeping outdoors but warm and comfortable. The trails and lakes on the property complete that nature immersion, with beautiful walks, nice fresh swimming and boats for paddling. There are even additional hidden lakes if you want an easy adventure from the property. Everything is available in an outdoor kitchen to keep the organizing simple, and the host is very responsive and a great guy. We were so restored, even on a very rainy weekend.

We had a lovely time staying at the Lonn cabin. It was a perfect set up in the tent with a nice sofa that became a double bed for the two adults, and the two children slept upstairs in the loft. We enjoyed the picturesque campsite, which was really like a little piece of heaven, and we also enjoyed going for walks with our dog, paddle boarding, and kayaking in the lake. The waterfall that fed into the lake was magnificent! Overall, I would recommend this place very highly.

Just what we wanted! Beautiful land up a little mountain under a luscious forest canopy, with a warm camp fire, very big lot to explore full of untouched wilderness. Super nice firefly show and mosquitos were really not that bad. All the while hearing the soft flow of the rapids. So peaceful. We had access to their beautiful private beach to swim, fish and explore and have many laughs. Good for paddleboarding! Folks super friendly and accommodating. Thank you!! Thank you for letting our family have a blast on your lovely land.
