There's sentier for hiking and two lakes to enjoy with a kayak. There is a bicycle available to go for a ride. In the tipi, the wood is included as well as a bed, just bring your sleeping bags. As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. Please note that though I only accept 1 group of campers per visit so you can enjoy your intimacy in the evenings with your friends and family, you will not have exclusive use of the food forest during the day as I may need to attend to my trees for weeding, harvesting or other. This beautiful, historic property was one of the first to be settled in the early 1800s. The credited first settler in Charleston, Vermont; Abner Allyn and his family owned this farm for 100 years! Our family began restoring the farmhouse as well as beginning a small regenerative farming operation in 2022. Currently we have a small flock of broilers and layers, turkeys, ducks and guineas. Our birds are fed an organic feed local to Vermont and are pasture raised. Freya an Luna are the Great Pyrenees' about the farm. They protect the flocks from predators. They are working dogs and have access to the entire property. For this-and other reasons, we discourage bringing pets to the farm. A sweet brook meanders through the property which all sites have access to as well as stunning views of bald mountain. Lovely farm views throughout the seasons. Weekend Trip to Froggy Acres

My Girlfriend and I had a perfect night of camping thanks to Don and Luna. Don was very accommodating and extremely kind. He helped us with anything we needed like camp gear as well as firewood. Each campsite was amazing with a lot of thought and effort put into it. If you want a more private camping experience, this is a great spot for it! We will certainly be back!

We had a wonderful time at Nordic roots farm. What a magical place! The airstream was fully equipped with all of the essentials travelling with our one year old. She had a blast with the pigs and chickens too. We look forward to coming back! Thank you guys again for the memorable trip :)

1 night at Old Stone House Museum VT

Great tent camping experience. Quiet, great walking trails, amazing views, Surrounded by gardens, apple trees, grazing cows and you will be among several old historic buildings and farming implements from 1800's. I real bargain for the price! I went on a Monday into Tuesday when the museum and buildings were closed, this made for a private quiet experience. If you go during open times or peak summer/ fall times you may see more tourists passing through. Look forward to going again!

Weekend Trip to Little Sister's Campsite

We loved camping here it was very secluded and we were able to enjoy a nice campfire right under the beautiful Vermont sky. The host Tony was very nice and showed very kind hospitality, he allowed us to use his kayak on the actual pond although there is a pond on the site it's just a small pond that you can swim in if you want or you can go to the hosts main house and go in the real pond. I fished the big pond and caught a ton of yellow perch and some catfish in the pond by the site. We definitely would love to come back again someday.

Very nice camping spot: private, lot of space, very clean. Very dog-friendly and the fence makes it easy and safe for the dogs. The large fire pit and tables with umbrellas make it very comfortable. I recommend!

Weekend Trip to Private River Sunset Camping

The gated food forest was so pretty and clean. We loved the soft grass, huge fire pit, and the two large umbrellas and tables. Our dog was able to roam around and play safely. The location is beautiful with rolling hills and farms. Nicole and Robert were very friendly and kind. They recommended some great hikes and festivals going on in the area. We would love to come back in the Fall to see all the colours.

Stayed 3 days in my suv and was inspired by the scenery, trails and hospitality. There is limited shade so I would bring a tent for my vehicle next time. Great place for photography and picturesque sunrises and sunsets. Can’t beat the price!

Loved this spot. Diane met us upon arrival, showed us everything we needed, suggested places nearby to eat, things to see and gave us our choice of spots. The sites are spacious, well maintained and some with direct access to the river. Great fishing by the way. It’s quiet, peaceful, beautiful setting and only a short walk into town. Restroom facilities are spotless. Looking forward to our next trip! Stan B
