Hi everyone! We offer four tipis close to the beautiful Victoria River in the region of Lac-Megantic. It's a wonderful place to enjoy nature. There's sentier for hiking and two lakes to enjoy with a kayak. There is a bicycle available to go for a ride. In the tipi, the wood is included as well as a bed, just bring your sleeping bags. We have a summer kitchen also for you to cook your meals! *** sometimes the GPS brings nowhere, when you arrive in the village of marston, turn right in ch.milan and after turn left at rang 5S , you arrive when you see the ending road :) No wi-fi, no eletricity, just solar pannel, stars and joy . hope to see you!

As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. There is also golf at Dufferin heights, cycling paths, shopping and quaint villages to explore. I would be delighted to help you plan some activities to make the most of your visit. A recently planted, fenced in food forest with picnic tables is the perfect place to watch the sunset as you let your dogs run free, while trails in the forest allow you the opportunity to explore the forested area by the river. A fire pit, two picnic tables with umbrellas, four Adirondak chairs, washrooms offer additional amenities to enjoy your stay. Please note that though I only accept 1 group of campers per visit so you can enjoy your intimacy in the evenings with your friends and family, you will not have exclusive use of the food forest during the day as I may need to attend to my trees for weeding, harvesting or other. This beautiful, historic property was one of the first to be settled in the early 1800s. The credited first settler in Charleston, Vermont; Abner Allyn and his family owned this farm for 100 years! Our family began restoring the farmhouse as well as beginning a small regenerative farming operation in 2022. Currently we have a small flock of broilers and layers, turkeys, ducks and guineas. Our birds are fed an organic feed local to Vermont and are pasture raised. Freya an Luna are the Great Pyrenees' about the farm. They protect the flocks from predators. They are working dogs and have access to the entire property. For this-and other reasons, we discourage bringing pets to the farm. A sweet brook meanders through the property which all sites have access to as well as stunning views of bald mountain. Lovely farm views throughout the seasons. Multiple trails for exploring can be found on and off farm. Trail heads to multiple mountains are within a few minutes of campsites. Lake Willoughby is a short 4 miles away, 7 miles to Island Pond, as well as endless hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing and more.

If riding ATV's or snowmobiles, this spot is closest to the trails! We have a small camp on this spot that we stay in on most weekends. There is a tent/camper site on the side of the yard. Parking is also available in the door yard. These spots have access to an outhouse that is fully stocked with anything you would need. There is also a picnic table and large fire pit. The second site is for the remote camper! These spots are at the end of the property tucked in the woods. Great tent camping experience. Quiet, great walking trails, amazing views, Surrounded by gardens, apple trees, grazing cows and you will be among several old historic buildings and farming implements from 1800's. I real bargain for the price! I went on a Monday into Tuesday when the museum and buildings were closed, this made for a private quiet experience. If you go during open times or peak summer/ fall times you may see more tourists passing through. Look forward to going again!

We loved camping here it was very secluded and we were able to enjoy a nice campfire right under the beautiful Vermont sky. The host Tony was very nice and showed very kind hospitality, he allowed us to use his kayak on the actual pond although there is a pond on the site it's just a small pond that you can swim in if you want or you can go to the hosts main house and go in the real pond. I fished the big pond and caught a ton of yellow perch and some catfish in the pond by the site. We definitely would love to come back again someday.

Weekend Trip to Private River Sunset Camping

The gated food forest was so pretty and clean. We loved the soft grass, huge fire pit, and the two large umbrellas and tables. Our dog was able to roam around and play safely. The location is beautiful with rolling hills and farms. Nicole and Robert were very friendly and kind. They recommended some great hikes and festivals going on in the area. We would love to come back in the Fall to see all the colours.

Loved this spot. Diane met us upon arrival, showed us everything we needed, suggested places nearby to eat, things to see and gave us our choice of spots. The sites are spacious, well maintained and some with direct access to the river. Great fishing by the way. It’s quiet, peaceful, beautiful setting and only a short walk into town. It's a lovely little farm, dog friendly and the volunteer host is so kind and thoughtful! She picked fresh leaves that have a calming property and gave me a tour of the farm - I saw the chicken coup "she lovingly calls the ladies" and the garden in front is incredible! Amazing river front but I did not have the time to take a dip. Chris is very responsive and allowed me to extend my stay last minute! It's a slice of heaven that is close to everything. Lennoxville lovely village is walking distance!

Weekend Trip to Champion Meadow Campground

This was a last minute booking. There was a ownership change and we hit the "grand opening" where there was evening fireworks display. For a small town campground it was better then some big city displays we have seen. My 8 year old grandson loved it. It wasn't our usually camping style as it was a campers in a huge circle in a opening field, with the river flowing behide each camper. Fishing was great and cant compain. We did wish we had a picnic table as others had for paying full price. Also dogs on leash wasnt enforced. So there was a German Shepard off leash, it was friendly, but a bit scary when a strange dog runs at you at your not sure. It was fine but... Also had a lab swim across the river to investigate our camp. Owners called it and it swam back. Not really the campgrounds fault but again scary as dogs are always unpredictable no matter how well trained. overall a good stay, as we even stayed another day because the fishing was good. Very nice and friendly new owners. We'll be back. Ill just pick a site that has a picnic table. .
