This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. A piece of heaven is what awaits you here. If you're looking for privacy your search is over. Imagine having your own island you reach by walking across the 15 metre bridge with a few areas to set up your tent(s) from where you'll fall asleep listening to the sound of the spring flowing into the pond, what bliss. The other site has a large rectangular pond of its own to ensure everyone has privacy. Your drinking water comes from Mother Nature, not a well, true spring water that's icy cold and so refreshing.. There are two spring fed ponds which makes them revitalizing on a hot day when you go for a swim. We are located 10 minutes away from the town of Hanover and the Allan Park Conservation is right beside us and has numerous walking and off road bicycling trails. The Saugeen River is 5 minutes away which you can kayak or tube down, too much fun that is. Our property offers beautiful scenery, virtual privacy, you see glimpses of our home, peace and tranquility with the backdrop of Mother Nature to be heard, geese, wild turkeys, deer, lots of songbirds, coyotes and oh yes, our big friendly lovable er be spectaular and later the stars twinkle above and maybe you'll even see a satellite high above while you're stargazing. Each site has a table (you'll need to bring lawn chairs), firepit with a cooking grill, and a supply of wood you'll have to purchase from us upon arrival, as we are a forestry managed property. An outhouse is a pleasant walk within minutes of the site. Water for dishes and general washing can just be taken from the pond (DO NOT DRINK) Not that it would kill you, lol. Ray will keep you supplied with fresh spring water for drinking. New to this site is a solar powered string of 300 lights, two single person floats, and a hammock for your added enjoyment. There are numerous things to do within a 15 minute drive. A couple dams, 2 conservation parks, drive-in theatre, casino, horse racing, small stock car racing track (great for young kids), two local breweries, a busy local butcher and the Saugeen River. With more destinations as you move outward. We promise you won't be disappointed and can't wait to share our piece of Heaven with you. TAKE NOTE You will be charged $500 per bag/item of refuse you leave behind. WE DO NOT HAVE GARBAGE PICKUP, besides which you are supposed to leave the site as you found it. CANCELATIONS: IF you cancel within two weeks of your arrival date, your money will NOT be refunded nor will you be able to change the date. We had an amazing stay at Carl’s place! The location is peaceful and beautifully maintained – it felt like having the whole forest to ourselves. The fall colors around the pond were absolutely stunning, and paddling there was pure calm. Everything was spotless, the hookups (including water) worked perfectly, and there was plenty of firewood ready for us. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature – we’d be happy to come back again!

My partner and I stayed at Emily’s Yurt this past thanksgiving weekend 2025 as a last minute booking. Emily accommodated our stay and was very quick to respond. The yurt was stunning, we’ve stayed at many hip camps and this was by far the best experience. From a eco friendly outhouse with a wood chip system, very clean and well stocked with necessities. The yurt had all supplies needed, along with many games and other activities to do. Can’t thank Emily enough for sharing her beautiful property and being so welcoming.

Wadda lovely little gem! Well maintained tree lined field with wee swim able pond right there close. Campsites are visible to each other but far enough away so you can't hear the others. One outside that was a bit of a walk but clean. Will go back here
