Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks. 1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies. We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in. A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road . If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen. We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message. Learn more about this land:Hello, campers! We have a wilderness campsite on 112 acres of pristine Canadian Shield in a dense forest. Our home is located on the acreage however you can choose your own magical spot. Please note that if coming from the city - you will experience a lot of mosquitoes and other forest life. Bug repellent and mosquito or gazebo tents are excellent items to bring to protect from bugs. This is NOT a glamping site, and ZERO amenities are provided. That means you need to know how to go to the bathroom in the woods, bring your own water, and camp stove. There is a great video by Recreational Equipment, Inc. (REI) on youtube to help you with going to the bathroom if you are unfamiliar. I also have the link if you need it. Kaladar is a small hamlet located at County Road 41 and Highway 7, otherwise known as The Lost Highway. Once upon a time, there was The Kaladar Hotel at the corner, with an interesting history. Now there is a general store with necessities, including groceries, gifts, gas, and more. Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome!

An outside shower room, flush toilet and common lounge with complimentary coffee and wifi is also available on site. There are marked walking trails on the property and at nearby conservation areas. Plenty to do on the grounds and within a 30 min drive, including sightseeing Prince Edward County, or checking out historic Kingston and Belleville. Wifi is available on the grounds at the lounge and gazebo, a short walk from the cabins. We have campfire wood available on site for $10/tote. Each tote contains paper, lighter, kindling and enough firewood to last hours into the night. Simply request at check in and we will deliver it to your cabin. The scenic waterfall across the road is part of the Salmon River watershed where you can take a refreshing dip seasonally. In the center of the property is a lovely sensory garden where you can sit and enjoy birds, butterflies and beautiful blossoms.

20. Juniper Rock Forest Camping

80km from Brighton · 1 site · Tent
