Riverside Camping In North Kawartha
Very nice camp site. The river is literally just steps away and pleasant to hear the rapids at night. The dogs thoroughly enjoyed the water. The covered deck was greatly welcomed with the rainy weather we had, and having an outhouse there saved me the trouble of bringing my portable toilet. George was fantastic to communicate with!

Riverside Camping In North Kawartha
This was our second year tent camping at George's site, and it lived up to the first. The privacy is what sells it. No visible neighbours, just woods. The couple who live on site are lovely if you cross paths with them, but otherwise you've got the place to yourself. The site is huge, with plenty of room to set up a tent or trailer wherever you like, and it has an almost park like feel. There's a big open field that's perfect for games with the kids.
The large covered gazebo is a trip saver. It rained on us pretty heavily but we stayed dry, and on hot days it made for good shade. The outhouse is clean & has a better view than most people's kitchen windows. Firewood is available on site for a fee, which saved us hauling our own. Propane BBQ is on site too.
The highlight is Eel Creek, right across from the site. A beautiful, peaceful swimming hole sitting below a cascade, with a sandbar that forms a little beach. We rigged up a rope & a tube and our son spent hours in it. For being in the middle of the woods, the bugs were surprisingly tame too. Hardly any mosquitoes, just the odd deer fly making its rounds.
It's also well placed for day trips, with Petroglyphs Provincial Park, Burleigh Falls, Quarry Bay Beach, & Buckhorn village all nearby. But honestly, the best part is just being there. It's relaxing in a way that's hard to find, and it genuinely reconnects you with nature. We'd recommend George's site to anyone and we're already planning to come back next year if we can.

We had a great time at George's site. Everything was well thought out, nice private site and the swimming hole was fantastic. George was easy to reach and quick to respond to any questions. The Gazebo was beautiful and probably the nicest outhouse I've ever used. Definitely will go again!
