The cottage is at the edge of a large wilderness area. We supply an ultra-safe large canoe with paddles and lifejackets. It's an easy and fun 15 minute paddle to reach the cottage. The cottage is an artistic gem on a safe and quiet lake with beavers and loons and numerous bird species -- owls, herons, hawks, ospreys, and many migratory songbirds. In over 20 years of experience on the lake, we've seen no bears. It's a cosy three-room place with a small bedroom (8x12) with an antique double bed; a main room (16 x12) with a single bed; and a kitchen (8X12). Sleeps 3, max. Access to the cottage is up a short set of irregular stone stairs from the lake. This could be an impediment for elderly or frail people. The lake is not a private lake. There are other cottages. But it's a very quiet lake and often there's no one else there. The landscape is very similar to Algonquin Park's. North Kawartha is famous as the birthplace of the canoe. This is a thinly-populated landscape of rugged granite bluffs, thickly-forested hills and valleys, and gorgeous lakes that remain quiet and peaceful even during the hottest summer weeks. This place was made by and for lovers, artists, poets, musicians, dreamers, writers, environmentalists, ecologists, escapists...and their children. Enjoy!

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets at these locations provide the perfect beginning and end to your days. Bring your camera!! Fall brings a whole new dimension to this picturesque community nestled in the Upper Ottawa Valley. The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker. The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife. The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. This off grid warm, cozy, roomy and rustic cabin sleeps 6 people comfortably. It is located in Round Lake, Ontario with easy access off Renfrew County Road 58 (Round Lake Road). It is approximately a 25 minute drive to the Basin Lake Access Point of Algonquin Provincial Park and just minutes away from the Killaloe, Hagarty, Richards Township boat launch in the village of Round Lake Centre . Bonnechere Provincial Park, Foy Provincial Park and Cheryl Boyle Park are 2-4 kms away, where sandy beaches and excellent swimming can be enjoyed on pristine Round Lake. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets at these locations provide the perfect beginning and end to your days. Bring your camera!! Fall brings a whole new dimension to this picturesque community nestled in the Upper Ottawa Valley. The fall foliage, with all its splendor during September and October, offers many opportunities for the camera buff or hiker. The cabin is set on 100 plus acres of private, mostly forested land and has a beaver pond that creates habitat for many different species of birds and wildlife. The Bunk House cabin can sleep six guests, with 2 single bunk beds and one single bunk over double bed. The kitchen area is complete with dishes, drink ware, pots, pans, utensils, toaster and coffee pot. A propane BBQ is also made available to our guests. Had an amazing stay at Sean’s place in the beginning of October. He was so accommodating and friendly. We had everything we needed and Sean was responsive to our messages. The lake is a short walk away and even though it was late in the season, we had warm enough weather to take a dip. We stayed on the landing site and had an overall amazing experience. Will definitely be back again. We went exploring and made a couple of new friends in the area as the people we encountered were very friendly. Not a single complaint and it’s nice for people who want to forgo the crowded campgrounds.

It started raining right as we arrived and didn't stop until the next day, yet it was still a great trip! There's something special about this place! It feels very private and tucked into the woods, but there's a gravel road not far away, so you'll hear vehicles from time to time. Or people walking and talking and you'll think there are people in the bush, but they pass eventually.

Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

Sarah’s arrival instructions were perfect (our GPS definitely said we arrived before we arrived). We ended up being able to drive all the way in to our site in our Corolla, there was only one rock that stuck out a bit but Sarah warned us about it. The site itself was secluded and quiet, a good distance away from the next closest site. The lake was lovely, the land is lovely, Sarah is lovely; all around a lovely experience 💚

My Husband and I went here for our 2nd wedding anniversary. We loved Paul’s cabin! Paul had everything we needed for a weekend getaway. A real artists retreat, the perfect place for us to unwind and connect. The only thing to keep in mind is that the steps getting up to the cabin are a little steep so if you have any health or mobility issues that is something to be aware of. 1000/10 would definitely recommend, and we for sure will be back.

Staying at the Forest Site was a top notch experience! Sarah and Will were excellent hosts. Sarah met our car at the road when we arrived and showed us to our site so there were no issues at all in finding the campsite. The cooking area was so nice to have, especially since there was a fire ban and we couldn’t cook over the fire pit. The supplied tent was very roomy and comfortable and we also had plenty of space to pitch other tents. The Forest Site felt very isolated and private from the other sites. The shared beach area and swim dock were great and located on a beautiful private lake. Highly recommend and I hope to stay here again!

We stayed at the lakeside dome for two nights and loved every moment. It was peaceful, well maintained and had everything we needed. When we arrived Jason, the owner, and Rocky his very friendly dog came to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property and the other sites and answered any questions we had. We also went on a tour of the lake which was beautiful. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the area and reccomepnded places we could go. 100/10 could not reccomend enough. We will definitely be coming back!
