We loved the camping there! The two hosts were super nice people and we ended up chatting quite a while while they showed us around. The campsite is very nice too: the pit toilet has a water bucket to wash hands and soap. Each campsite has a picknick table. There was only one other guest that night, so it was relatively privat. Would absolutely recommend.

Carmen’s campsite, HayLmore, is amazing.
There is a washroom with a flush toilet and sink which is kept clean. Behind the bathroom building is a double sink, for dishes, dish soap included. Can and plastic recycling as well as a place for garbage- please keep garbage to a minimum as it’s a regular size garbage bin and there are other campers.
We stayed a ponderosa which to me is the most private spot, and I’ll definitely stay there again.
We had a 20’ pick-up with slider camper.
Molly (the dog) keeps to herself these days as she’s getting a little older, but she still loves pets.
Carmen sells her eggs, tomatoes (or veggies of the season too).

3 nights at Lake Glamping with Beach and Sauna
We had such an amazing time at Anderson Lake! The Yurt was cozy and comfortable, the outdoor kitchen made cooking so easy and scenic, and the property was absolutely breathtaking! It is totally worth the drive and such a cool way to experience the area! Absolutely book the sauna, and bring your paddle boards if you can! Can’t wait to come back next year! :)

Amazing, quiet place. Carmen was very responsive. Wasroom was impecable and dish washing station was very useful. Potable water was available too. The shower was not available yet, but we drove to Pemberton and showered in the rec centre for $4.50 each. We heard generators at night, but was not a problem for us (I always use earplugs for sleeping anyway, and my husband is a very good sleeper).
We had a few little walks to the creek. We saw salmon swimming upstream.
We went to Birkenhead lake a few times,, it’s like a 20 min drive. Totally worth it, it was not too busy and the beach was sandy.
We loved the place, We will definitely come back.

Weekend Trip to Lake Glamping with Beach and Sauna
We had a wonderful stay at Anderson Lake. The yurts are beautiful, spotless, and well organized. It’s the perfect place for a peaceful getaway, and the lake itself is absolutely stunning.
A few important tips before you go:
• You must have an off-road vehicle — ideally 4WD or AWD. A sedan will not make it.
• After navigating the rough road, you’ll park and then hike down a narrow path to your yurt. Carrying luggage, coolers, and gear can be challenging, as we had to make multiple trips.
• The lake is about a 5–6 minute hike down from the yurts.
• There are only two yurts on site. If the other one isn’t booked, you’ll be alone in the forest and campground — which might feel too isolated for some.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and unique experience with plenty of hiking involved. Just be prepared for the physical effort, and you’ll have an unforgettable stay

What a fantastic glamping spot! We had a great time and were so happy that our dogs could be off-leash and enjoy the semi-private beach. The lake is crystal clear and the whole vibe is incredibly tranquil. The site is well-maintained, the dry pit is clean, and the outdoor shower with hot water was a highlight. The solar power for basic lighting worked perfectly.
For future improvements, a portable fan would be a huge help, especially on hot summer nights, as it got a bit too warm inside the yurt. We also found that cooking inside wasn't realistic; the detached kitchen on the other yurt is a smart design.
Be warned about the roads! An AWD vehicle is a must from either D'Arcy or Lilooet, as some slopes are steep. The beach is a short walk away, but it's a 70m altitude change, which is tough with gear like a paddleboard. Lastly, be prepared for biting flies, which are naturally occurring and not a reflection of cleanliness.

Weekend Trip to Lake Glamping with Beach and Sauna
Our stay on Anderson Lake was incredible! The Yurt was super cozy and cute. We enjoyed a fire in the yurt and late nights star gazing from bed while we watched Harry Potter. The lake is so clear and blue which was perfect for swimming the day away and kayaking, and when we weren’t in the water, we were lounging on the beach in the sun. Plus the sauna took our trip to another level! This was such a lovely getaway, we felt like we were in the middle of nowhere with so much privacy during our stay. Propane fire was available to buy and the outdoor kitchen came with pretty much everything you’d need. The only thing to note is that the drive in to the Yurt was definitely a little scary at times (I wouldn’t feel comfortable driving in a 2WD) and the walk from the parking lot to the yurt and the walk from the yurt to the beach were mini hikes in their own right! Short walks but steep. Totally worth the effort though, would come back.

Very quiet and private spot. The stars are terrific.
Each site has a large picnic table. The site was flat enough that we didn’t need to level our van.
The WiFi works best at the washroom. But it did reach to our picnic table, but not inside the van.
Underscoring the hosts suggestions on directions: do NOT use Google. Follow the hosts directions explicitly and you’ll be fine.
Anderson lake is worth seeing and only a five minute drive away.
The bathroom and running water were nice to have. A shower is coming soon, per the body, as they’ve been waiting for BC hydro.
We very much enjoyed our stay.

Dale and Carmen were excellent hosts. We had a bit of a crisis wirh our dog running off into the woods abd getting lost overnight which had us very worried and anxious. Dale and Carmen went above and beyond to help us in any way they could. Lovely people a d a beautiful place to camp. I couldn't recommend it enough!!

My friends and I had a lovely weekend at Carmen’s property. The owners are very hands off, but left great directions to find out site without help. They had everything well set up with wood chips lay out and along the paths to make things nicer. Birkenhead lake turnoff is right nearby so it was great to spend an afternoon up there with ease too. Their dog was sweet and came to visit a few times throughout. I would highly recommend a stay here :)

This was mine and my fiancé’s first camping trip of the season and we couldn’t have been happier! Such a beautiful, shady, quiet site. Carmen responded to my questions pre-stay super quickly. The toilet is located centrally to each of the sites. The ground is soft for tents. The site is located so close to Anderson Lake which we used our inflatable SUP on. We had a great time. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Great location, fairly easy to find. Campsite was great and loved the lights on the paths. Also I believe the owner's (?) dog was around and was absolutely adorable. The shower was not working (blocked off by some equipment) and no hot water, but toilet and cold/potable water was working. Some mosquiteos and bugs but not too noticeable as we had a campfire and thermacell going.

When to go
The best time to camp, hike, and mountain bike at Whistler is May through early October. Fall is especially nice, with somewhat fewer crowds and vibrant color in the trees. May and June are often less busy, too, although they tend to bring more rainy days. Snow typically starts to fall in November and lingers at high elevations into summer. Whistler-Blackcomb normally opens for the ski season around the U.S. Thanksgiving week and closes in April.
Know before you go
- Several bus companies can take you between Vancouver and Whistler, from either the airport (about 2.5 hours) or downtown (two hours).
- Whistler has grocery stores, craft breweries, and lots of shops that rent gear for outdoor activities year-round. Businesses in the Function Junction neighborhood south of Whistler Village are more oriented to locals, as are stores in Squamish, 45 minutes to the south by road.
