Weekend Trip to Collinswood Retreat

Collinswood retreat is a gem! We stayed at the woodbend campsite and our friends glamped at the Rosebud Cafe. It’s a great and eclectic property with views, many trails and surprises. The ladies raved about their massages!

1 night at Aspen Grove

I loved this place which is really spacious, I can set up my 9 person tent with 4 person tent of my friend and still got lot of area to move. Loved that provided a table and chair so that you can cook and put everythings on the table. Site 1 is a highly privacy site compared with site 2 and 3 but you have to compromise with 2 mins walk to get that privacy. Also, the wash room is quite clear, no bad smell, there is sanitizer.

One of the best campsites we have camped at by far! There are hiking trails on the property, a beautiful outdoor shower, and our campsite had a beautiful view of the valley. They fired up the sauna for us because it was so chilly outside, it was amazing!!! I will definitely be staying here again! Thank you for being so nice and so accommodating! My dogs also loved the hiking trails aswell!

This was our second stay at Shady Nook. It is such a perfect place to spend a weekend. Lots to do near your camp and tons of trails to explore. Our 2 boys had an awesome time biking and finding hiking sticks. Will be back again!

Such a beautiful, quiet spot ! Spacious parking area, clean port o potty on site, secluded sites, and an abundance of nature! Such a gem to find especially with my dog there’s several trials throughout the property that were such a draw to this spot ! Would Absolutly stay again, and Gordon was the most helpful host !

"Our stay at this huge 160 acre private property campsite was absolutely wonderful! The site was spacious and clean, with beautiful surroundings that made us feel like we were in a secluded retreat. The owners were super friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for exploring their extensive trail system by bike and walking. We especially loved the peaceful atmosphere and the chance to connect with nature. We can't wait to come back and stay again!" 5/5 stars.

What a wonderful place to stay. Me and my son went on a little date and on our way back home decided to stay at the treehouse...I'll be going back, what a cute little place. The hosts are both very generous and accommodating, both very kind considerate and humble. They not only made sure we had what else needed, they even brought us hot cookies in bed the next morning. It was definitely one of the coolest places to stay. Id highly recommend:)

The campsite was spacious and well-maintained 5 minutes from Sylvan lake. Simply a hidden gem in the city. The potty was clean. 10/10 if you are coming with your pets: Highly recommended. Will come back again..

I loved that Gordon has made his own trails on the property. Overall had a really nice stay, campground is well taken care of in the cute town of Half Moon Bay. Super close walk to the water for an amazing sunset! Thanks Gordon!

Weekend Trip to Running Reins Guest Ranch

Our stay was a wonderful experience. The meal and drink pairings were excellent. Breakfast was fantastic. The hot tub in the teepee was so enjoyable. Out of the elements with the fire pit. We are planning a return visit.

Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. We’ve hosted weddings, and family reunions. We hope you appreciate how special this place is. Come see for yourself!

This property is one of the last remaining natural areas around Sylvan lake. Our family has spent over 120 years as stewards of the land and are excited to share what we have protected. Enjoy Private Tent Camping in a Pristine Aspen Forest with a fire pit and picnic table. All within 500 feet of Sylvan Lake. This is the perfect place to disconnect yourself from the city! Your fee includes free access to 120 acres of forest, excellent wildlife viewing and unlimited deadfall to use as firewood, if you don't mind some manual labour. My kids cut and split firewood if you would like some waiting at your site when you arrive. We have seasoned and split bundles for $10 and you can pre-purchase them when you complete your checkout. It's like a lemonade stand for them...just more work. ;) A professionally maintained porta-potty is on-site for your comfort. We are pet-friendly! If you enjoy the water, this is an ideal location for Kayaking, Paddleboarding or just lounging on an air mattress. With its picturesque scenery and shallow shoreline, Sylvan Lake is a great place to spend some time. Sylvan Lake's laid back nature and small-town charm are warm and inviting and have all the amenities that you could ask for. We look forward to hosting you!
