Collin’s Wood is a very special place indeed. The land was bought by my grandfather years ago when he moved to Canada from England and wanted to chase his log cabin dream. Our main cabin my family built from trees on the land, entirely by hand. We have photos of the trees being cut and the bark being peeled off. Since then, we’ve made many changes out there, we now have a guest cabin that used to be a Teacheridge (back when teachers would live in a one room building beside the school), eventually it was turned into a cafe and now it sits on our land as a guest cabin. This place is so magical. With a quarter section of land I grew up running through the forest with my friends and learning about what the land has to offer. My parents have spent every spare weekend out there making this paradise into what it is today. All the buildings were created by my family through labour and love. We’ve hosted weddings, and family reunions. We hope you appreciate how special this place is. Come see for yourself!

This is a place to get away from a busy life.
With close proximity to Winchell Lake, this land is ideal for fishing, hiking or simply enjoying the breathtaking scenery.
We have 4 campsites available for tent or RV/trailer campers. If you're bringing an RV, we have two power outlets and water available. You will be parking on a field and the site requires levelling.
Electricity and firewood are both available for purchase (see extras below). Please add this to your reservation at the time of booking.
Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome. Potable water, picnic table, and outhouse are all available.
We have cows, goats, chickens, horses and dogs on the property that
generally love people. :) I have only one dog and typically allow dogs to run off leash. We do have to be careful that it doesn't turn to a dog gang as this happened once and they took down one of my goats. The goats Hon and Chewy are okay but it took months for poor Hon to heal. I also worry about the chickens so please keep and eye on your dogs!
Lots of treed areas for private camping, horseback riding hiking and walking!
Bird watching is big around here as we are on a bird migratory path.
We are just above Winchell Lake and less than 10 km from Water Valley Golf Course and Saloon.
Please recognize that you are visiting a Ranch not a campsite. We are sharing our piece of heaven with you and you are helping to support our animals and their heaven.
Chickens are "True" Free Range and hand fed every morning. Eggs are $10 a dozen to pay for their feed. :)
Every spring the rain tends to cause ruts and washes out some of the road on the way to the back forty where the meadow is. We gather rocks on the property to fill the ditches but the early part of the year the roads can be bumpy. Please ask the conditions of the road when you book if you have concerns. Thanks!

We have a little campground setup with a large gravel area that you can park campers in. We have 2 sewer hookups and some power hookups as well 120volt 12 amp. A horseshoe pit, full size pool table trampoline and kids play set hockey net. A big dumpster for waste disposal. A large firepit. Also as an added bonus I have an outdoor tactical lasertag business and in our back field we have a course setup and ppl can play lasertag back there it’s very fun. This is more setup for rvs or tent trailers. Tents would work we just would have to lay down something for you. It’s a nice fairly quiet area that’s minutes from the Pembina and north Saskatewan river and 23 minutes to the Brazeau damn. Would make for a perfect group camping spot. Ev charging available too as we do have a Tesla charger.

We have a little campground setup with a large gravel area that you can park campers in. We have 2 sewer hookups and some power hookups as well 120volt 12 amp. Water on tap too so you can hook it up or fill your tank easily. There’s a covered eating area called the watering hole. A stage with a pull down screen that can be used for movies. A horseshoe pit, full size pool table trampoline and kids play set hockey net. A big dumpster for waste disposal. A large firepit. Also as an added bonus I have an outdoor tactical lasertag business and in our back field we have a course setup and ppl can play lasertag back there it’s very fun. This is more setup for rvs or tent trailers. Tents would work we just would have to lay down something for you. It’s a nice fairly quiet area that’s minutes from the Pembina and north Saskatewan river and 23 minutes to the Brazeau damn. Would make for a perfect group camping spot. Ev charging available too as we do have a Tesla charger.

This was my second time camping here and I think it’s officially my favourite campground. :) Geri and Pat are so welcoming, plus the sites are private with beautiful surroundings. This morning I saw the horses coming through the property too which was a huge bonus! With the Bowden Sunmaze close by, not to mention that this site comes with a bundle of firewood and water, I can’t recommend this place enough. With winter coming soon I hope to plan a weekend in the treehouse or other buildings soon!

The sites and amenities were exactly as shown and explained on the website. We enjoyed the solitude and quietness of the site not always found in the common campground arrangement. There are some hiking trails nearby at the Crimson Lake provincial park that we enjoyed as well as taking time to read, relax and shell peanuts, once we got back to our site. Our hosts were very accommodating! We stayed at Woodbend for the night. It came with a bundle of wood, campfire pit, hammock and an abundance of property to explore! There is so much to see while walking around from the horses to the unique cottage/sleeping accommodations!

I had a great 2 nights here, it was very hot but there's a little trail down to the river where you have your own private spot! Beautiful area, quiet campsite and clean outhouse. Close to Drumheller for all the tourist attractions. Amazing sunsets at camp! We saw a deer, 2 bunnies, a squirrel and many birds. Host was very nice and hospitable. Definitely will return.

Adrian met us as we pulled in and told us we were at the right spot. He showed us where we could park and told us the grassy area was ours to use. He offered us whatever we needed to make our stay pleasant. Later in the evening he and his son had to move the ducks and goose to the barn. They checked with us to make sure we were ok with that. Afterwards we had a great visit with both of them. The place was very relaxing. Definitely a great host and a great place to stay.
