Once a much larger property, we purchased our 120-acre (50-hectare) in 1984 as a means to live sustainably and raise a family. Living in our shed whilst we prepared the garden, installed watering infrastructure, and built our house, which we finally moved into when our daughter was 6 months old in 1990. Over the ensuing years, we have continued to increase biodiversity on the property and set it up so we can live sustainably, harvesting our own water, electricity, and food. If you're lucky, you could get a hamper of our product when there is sufficient in season. With the increased biodiversity, you will find that in the mornings and evenings, kangaroos and wallabies will visit with the occasional echidna, rabbi,t and hare; and to forget the large array of bird life - that may wake you early in the morning with the songs. This campsite is set on lovely grassy open areas interspersed with gum trees. The sunrise looks spectacular near the dam, when the trees give off a lovely glow. The main paddock has a Geodome, a shared space for relaxing in. With all that space, you can park and set up camp anywhere in the paddock. There is access to drinking water, toilets, and a hot shower. Around the dome is a fire pit, drinking water, and a camp kitchen. The fire pit features an Argentinian BBQ and a plate for cooking. The kitchen has plates, cups, cutlery, and other bits and pieces for you to use. We also allow your pets to stay on-site; this includes horses. Ingelara Farm is a working organic biodynamic family farm. Located 65 km from Canberra and 50 km from Cooma. We grow potatoes, garlic, pumpkins and a variety of summer vegetables as well as running 60 head of angus cows. We are excited to offer rustic accommodation on the farm, perfect for those wanting to enjoy the tranquillity of country life, a drink at the campfire, bush walks, fishing in our large fresh water dam or as a base to explore the Snowy Mountains. You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers. A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required. Please also note: - Arriving time is strictly between 2pm and no later than 8pm at night . - Checking out time is 12 pm. - The driveway from the highway to the site is a gravel road suitable for 2WD however please drive according to conditions - The site is located near the farm sheds, whilst we will respect your privacy you will be staying on a working farm consequently some movement and noise will not be avoidable between 8am and dark. - You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children. - We provide firewood at an extra cost of $20/bundle - As there is no council bin service available we ask that you take your rubbish with you. - Full telephone signal available for Telstra, however, any other provider is patchy. - Please note that there are farm dogs on the property, and no other pets are allowed.

This property is in Northangera with the Mongarlowe River running along the boundary. It's covered in trees and provides a pristine environment amongst the "Scribbly Gums". It has flat areas with plenty of free timber for the designated fire pits. I have tried to create a haven for wildlife including Kangaroos, wombats, echidnas and platypus. I cherish the cleanliness of the river and surrounds and wish to be able to share this special environment with others who care to preserve all it offers. You can explore the property along the tracks, paddle, swim or fish in the river, enjoy the fauna, wildlife and birdlife. Located not far from Braidwood, a town steeped in history, with good shopping, coffee shops and great food. Sloping to flat land amongst the Scribbly Gum trees offering a number of sites and walks through the property. It provides both sun and shade. Access is good for vans of any size along a track through the bushland. Lovely swimming spots in the Mongalowe River, beautiful clear water, and several lovely bushwalks around the property. Merigan Farm is a 1400 Hectare (3500 acre) working sheep and cattle farm. Our family has lived at Merigan for more than 50 years. It has been a farm since the 1840s and we still run sheep and cattle in a regenerative manner, to this day. It’s a pleasure to be able to share the countryside and farm with guests. We currently offer two accommodation options: Cherry Tree - A cabin with a beautiful farm outlook. With a bookcase full of books and a fire pit for cosy evenings, it's the perfect escape. The Quarters - A private section of the old farmhouse offering rural charm and a perfectly comfortable stay. Merigan is the name of the local Parish and on Ngunawal country. It has been recounted by indigenous locals that Merigan means Dingo. The story being that Merigan fought the Bunyip and in their tussle created the rivers and creeks across the range. It’s a southern Australian Mediterranean environment with distinct seasons – it can reach over 42 degrees and in the winter its been known often to snow. Sometimes in summer the easterly sea breezes reaches over the range and the smell of sea salt cools the hot evening. Merigan offers a range of activities, to relax and settle into rural life. One of the best ways to get the feel of Merigan is just taking a walk around the property. We have 3500 acres of space to meander around and a great spots for picnics, drinks and photographs. Feel free to use the Tennis Court, balls and racquets under one of the verandas at the front of the house and the bocce court at the bottom of the garden. Bungendore, 18km away, is a thriving little country town with Galleries, gift-shops, cafés, bakeries, coffee shops and bars. The Top Pub (The Royal ) is the more casual of the hotels. The Bottom Pub (The Lake George) has a fancy restaurant attached to the more informal pub area. Braidwood is a funky Heritage town about 25km East of Bungendore and well worth a visit. It has outstanding shops and eateries and 2 pubs. The Braidwood Hotel being my favourite. Tarago is 14km away. The Loaded Dog do meals but mainly on weekends (Pizzas during the week). Best to check as it varies. Other local attractions include Lark Hill Winery, Lerida Estate Winery, Turlla Truffles and Bungendore Woodworks.

We loved our stay at The Shack. It feels wonderfully secluded while still being close to town. The sounds of Lyrebirds, Gang-gang Cockatoos, and the creek flowing nearby made it a truly relaxing escape. Being right on the river was a highlight, and the generous supply of firewood for both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit kept us warm on the chilly nights. For anyone who enjoys camping but appreciates a little extra comfort and warmth, The Shack is a fantastic option. We would happily stay again.

Really enjoyed our two night stay at The Shack, large amount of firewood provided which warmed the shack perfectly on the cold and frosty winter nights. Really handy to have the kitchen stocked with everything you need to cook with, just bring your own food etc. Perfect escape to enjoy my 60th birthday. Lyrebirds were visiting us constantly, thanks for having us Phil, will be back for sure.

Weekend Trip to The Lodge at Tinneburra

Tinnenburra Lodge is a great place to stay with young kids. Amazing views from the house with the river by the house, comfortable facilities and lovely grounds to go wandering about to explore. The stars at night were incredible, the morning fog exciting to walk through with the kids, the fire pit always a hit, the only sad part was having to leave. Great host as well with clear instructions and grounds information.

I had a lovely stay in the Peaceful and Spacious Campervan at Maddara Organic Farm and Art. The setup was relaxing, quiet, and thoughtfully done. The amenities were surprisingly good for being positioned out in the paddock, while still keeping a low-impact footprint on the landscape. I brought my own firewood this trip, but next time I’d happily purchase it directly from the host. A great little escape and highly recommended.

I spent a beautiful and peaceful few days at the River Shack. The Shack was super tidy and well organised, right on the banks of the river. I had a family of wombats, amazing birdlife and 2 platypus for company! It was totally serene - a fantastic place to escape and recharge.

This camp was beautiful. Surrounded by trees and under the stars, this is a really perfect spot if you want to get away for a couple nights and get into nature. The camp site is perfect with fire pit, table, toilet, even spare camp chairs, tea and kettle and bbq. If you’re looking to try camping out this is the spot to go. You can turn up and have most everything you need in the bush. If you’re an experienced camper looking for a night or two away, it’s a great little spot not too far from Goulburn (about 10 mins). The drive in itself was even beautiful I spotted a kangaroo, a wombat, possum and a deer! Mya couldn’t be more friendly, welcoming and helpful, I was sent home with a beautiful pumpkin from her garden :) The tent itself is great, comfy and clean. I did forget my sleeping bag though, if you visit in winter, extra blankets won’t go astray as it gets chilly. The stay was made even more sweet by Jedi their pup patrolling the perimeter and coming in to say hello throughout the evening. I would absolutely recommend staying here, perfect spot for a little getaway and getting back to nature. I travelled on my own from Sydney and finding Myas spot was a total blessing. I will be returning :) thank you again xx

Equip with all the basics, we had a perfect weekend ‘camping’ without having to worry about bringing any gear other than linen, food and drinks.
