Bush camping on 100 acres in the Tinderry Range at about 1400 metres altitude. Seclusion and adventure all within an hour of Canberra and twenty minutes from Michelago and the Monaro highway. Big skies and dark nights for star-gazing are likely; or perhaps you'll be nestled in cloud; or hidden by falling snow. There are numerous tracks with spectacular views around the property for bush walking or mountain bike riding. The tracks are surrounded by sub-alpine flora and fauna (such as wallaby's, wombats, lyrebirds) and nearby in the Tinderry Nature Reserve. Tinderry Range is a rugged range east of the Monaro highway accessed mostly through Michelago or an hour and a half from Braidwood (when dirt roads are reasonable). The range is only around 70km away from the coast, thus enabling a sea mist to often roll over us in the late afternoon. Summer temperatures are a pleasant 6 degrees or so cooler than nearby Canberra. You may choose between a number of options for camping depending on your camping desires and set up. There are numerous tracks around our property or nearby Tinderry Nature Reserve. You may go exploring to find the springs or choose to stick to easy walking tracks that follow the contours. We will provide a map. Tracks are also great for mountain bike riding and exploring the unusual mix of sub-alpine, montane and coastal flora and fauna. There is numerous species of bird life and regular calls from lyre birds. This area has fascinating history with the largest eucalyptus distillery in Australia until the late 1950's and very popular with a number of bushrangers such as the Clarke Brothers who had numerous hideouts. No amenities. BYO camping toilet and leave no trace. Campfires (except on fire ban days or when we advise otherwise) are okay--usually recommended. Normally dry firewood is easy to find, or purchase some from us if you prefer. The exception is the bell tent glamping option,' Tin Can Ridge Glamping' which has a toilet included as well as firewood and shortly its own wood stove! Some campsites are best accessed by 4WD, or on foot. or gain access to the glamping tent with us escorting you. Camp lightly. No hunting. Do nothing illegal. Take all waste with you. Respect the land, the wildlife and people. Keep the peace. Enjoy.

We are excited to offer rustic accommodation on the farm, perfect for those wanting to enjoy the tranquillity of country life, a drink at the campfire, bush walks, fishing in our large fresh water dam or as a base to explore the Snowy Mountains. You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers. A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required. Please also note: - Arriving time is strictly between 2pm and no later than 8pm at night . - Checking out time is 12 pm. - The driveway from the highway to the site is a gravel road suitable for 2WD however please drive according to conditions - The site is located near the farm sheds, whilst we will respect your privacy you will be staying on a working farm consequently some movement and noise will not be avoidable between 8am and dark. - You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children. - We provide firewood at an extra cost of $20/bundle - As there is no council bin service available we ask that you take your rubbish with you. - Full telephone signal available for Telstra, however, any other provider is patchy. - Please note that there are farm dogs on the property, and no other pets are allowed.

This 3000 acre property is located close to Nimmitabel and not too far from Cooma. Try your hand at trout fishing and enjoy endless tracks for bushwalking and observing the native wildlife. Wander along the river banks just enjoying the serenity of the location and witness platypus feeding, water dragons sunning themselves and the brown trout fly feeding and one of Australia's beautiful but lesser known native rodents, Rakali (intelligent semi aquatic water rat who's scientific name translates to golden -bellied water mouse). One of Australia's two aquatic mammals, the platypus being the other. This campsite suits self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. IF NO CHEMICAL TOILET, DIG A HOLE AT LEAST 30CM DEEP . There is access to a drinking water supply (mountain river water), or you can bring your own water. After heavy rain you may need to boil/filter for drinking. You will need a 4WD to access the campsites closest to the river as there is a shallow gully crossing. Camper trailer or off road pop up campers will be able to negoiate the tracks. Good clearance necessary to pass over one gully crossing. Dogs are welcome, however, we do run sheep in an adjoining paddock so they need to stay close to your camp. Kids aged 16 and under camp for free. There is a dedicated campfire pit so you can stay warm on chilly evenings (please check to see if there is a seasonal fire ban in place). Fire wood can be provided - chainsaws are permitted but be mindful of structures that are animal habitats. Your family may enjoy taking a bushwalk that takes you around the 300 acre native bush paddock. Climb up and get a birds eye view down into a gully of magnificent granite boulders above where the river disappears deep below. Identify the unique sounds of the native birds and follow the tracks wildlife create. We are centrally located - just 1.5 hours from the snowfields and from the best beaches of the NSW coastline. There is a small general store, 2 takeaway cafes and a pub at Nimmitabel, or you can get all supplies in Cooma 25 mins away. Please note that we have very limited reception service for mobiles, so let's communicate via messages before you arrive in our area. I can provide a camping setup if you need extra bedding or you don't have any camping equipment or tent.

You may find internet and mobile not fully covered here. I have a mobile that I use which works well depending where I stand. Now has 3 adjacent camp sites available. If not booked by others its a quiet spot amongst a bush setting. also offers an RV site. You can relax around your firepit and enjoy watching the beautiful wildlife that come to visit the property including Kangaroos, Wombats and a variety of native birds. The host runs a Day Spa from her home so you may like to treat yourself to some self care. Please check with host as to availability of Spa Treatments. Why not check out our outdoor clawfoot bath during your stay. It's an amazing experience under the stars! Tank water is available but please use sparingly. The surrounding region is hugely popular for cyclists and bushwalkers with many great tracks available to explore. Mt Gladstone now has a popular track and Iread there are plans for a big upgrade. There is a lookout at the top and can recommend Miss Heides Austrian Restaurent. Amazing authentic home cooked bavarian meals in a rustic log cabin with a fireplace. The Murrumbidgee River is just about 4 klms away, where you can enjoy a picnic along it's banks and take a dip if it's warm enough. We prefer campers who are fully self contained. Campers must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. There is an outside basic toilet that is a compost type with sawdust and is cleaned regularly. No pets please as we have a wildlife corridor here. * I am considering quiet well behaved pets for campers but not in the bush hut. Will verify soon*.

Weekend Trip to Siam Sanctuary

Loved the nature immersion in this spot. Amazing birdlife and two very friendly adorable chickens walking round. The campervan ‘Delilah’ was very cozy and comfortable. We had a nice time exploring the grounds and having a drink down by the creek. Great spot to use as a base to explore the bermagui/Tilba areas. Shanti and Sol were excellent hosts - very accommodating and check in was very easy (even at night time). Couldn’t recommend this spot enough.

3 nights at Siam Sanctuary

We really enjoyed our stay at Siam Sanctuary. We loved “Delilah” the retro caravan and were grateful for the fresh water and gas stove. After a couple of weeks of rough camping Delilah was a real treat. The camp is so peaceful and has very relaxed vibes. The giant swing is a lot of fun for all ages and we enjoyed exploring the creek track in the evenings. It is a perfect location to get to Camel Rock for a surf, into Bermagui for lunch, explore the cute galleries at Cobargo and nip to Mystery Bay for an evening dip. I would definitely recommend a stay here and will definitely come back again. Thank you!

This was our second stay and it was yet again, perfect. The tent is in a wonderful spot and it’s a great place particularly for those who value not being around others. We look forward to coming back again

It has been an absolutely amazing experience. I stayed up all night just gazing at the stars and just felt very safe. And during the day is when I catched some zzz's thanks to the hammock. Everything I needed was there. Anna and Andrew have been very gracious and accomodating, giving me a ride to the camp from their homestead, and back. I will 100% come back.

Love the Shack, the inside and outside of the Shack is clean and tidy. The property is very near the river and my 2 sons enjoyed swimming and fishing in the river. The Shack have a fireplace inside for cold nights. The environment is very quite and serene. Very relaxing place to camp.

We had the most fantastic time at the River Shack! It was so relaxing and beautiful. I saw a platypus & a water dragon. The shack is rustic and comfortable, and it has everything you need. It was a wonderful getaway.

Amazing location. We had our tinny with us, and were able to have it anchored just in front of our cabin. View was perfect. So peaceful. Cabin had everything we needed. And staff were delightful. Will be back!

We had a magnificent weekend at the shack. so quiet, relaxing. A perfect bush refuge. the bird life was astounding and we were visited by the local platypus.

I provide clean linen and blankets and quilts. A fur throw for the colder nights.

Weekend Trip to Tin Can Ridge

We loved staying at Anna’s place, she was great with communications and the directions were clear to arriving, then her and her family showed us wonderful hospitality from the get go, we asked for more fire wood for night two and it was delivered in no time. The tent itself is beautiful inside with lots of little bits and pieces and details that have been well thought out (etc extra lights and batteries and playing cards). The bed is super comfy and there are extra blankets if needed. We experienced high winds on the second night but the glamp tent kept us cosy and warm with no issues. The fire pit area was a great communal space again with so many bits and pieces that were helpful. These included utensils, cleaning items, spray oil, some cutlery and crockery and loads of water. The toilet again showed signs of being well thought out, a simple portable toilet set up away from the tent but accompanied by a bucket with cleaning wipes, toilet paper and hand sanitisers. The views were fantastic and the spot is secluded, we saw or heard no one else our whole stay and that’s exactly what we wanted. You could go exploring or collapse in the hammock with a book. We can’t recommend it here enough and will be back for sure. Thanks guys!

The Shack provided us with the perfect long weekend retreat. Phil has set up the Shack with a cooker, chairs, table, comfortable beds and cooking utensils. The view to the river is beautiful and we enjoyed a refreshing swim and paddle board. We loved the indoor and outdoor fire - plenty of firewood provided! The best part - total peace and quiet! We didn’t see anyone else on the property! Thanks Phil - we would love to come back!

We loved staying at the river shack - it has everything you need for a relaxing, off-grid holiday. The shack is well stocked with cooking supplies and firewood and the log burner kept us cosy during the cold nights. The view from the deck was lovely - we even saw 2 platypus! Would definitely recommend the shack!

Weekend Trip to Scribbly Gum secluded bush camping

The most beautiful site on the river. So private, serene and relaxing. We were a bit worried about the cold (sub zero) but the shack is SO cosy with the fire. Well stocked with cooking gear, firewood and two drums of water (we still BYO drinking water). We were visited by a wombat and platypus! Perfect getaway for two couples and a dog.
