Katrine Steading, set on a quiet rural property nestled in a valley within a valley 13 kms from Northam (10 Minute Drive), provides ample space for guests to enjoy a relaxed stay, featuring a beautiful garden and orchard, many species of birds, animals and other wildlife enjoy the natural habitat framed by picturesque hills, the Avon river and farmland. With 6 converted historical buildings, Katrine is the perfect choice for family and group gatherings as well as a secluded couples getaway. Wayne and Jeni are experienced hosts with an eye for relaxed but detailed comfortable living. Interaction with us can be as much or as little as you desire. Feel free to enjoy the gardens and surrounding areas, we will be around somewhere if you need assistance or want a chat. Of course, Monet (Like the painter), our Dog is the official property greeter.

Stay in a piece of history - the Katrine Steadings Gate House built circa 1850. The Gatehouse features an upstairs bedroom with its own half bathroom. Downstairs full en-suite and a Kitchenette/living room. You'll be taken back in time, from the brass light switches, to the bathroom fittings, to the furniture, all beautifully preserved and presented. Yet with all the mod cons of home including air con upstairs and down to keep guests cosy and comfortable. Towels and bed linen are provided. Guests can swim in the outdoor swimming pool, go hiking or cycling, or relax in the beautiful gardens and use the BBQ facilities.

This self-catered farm stay features 1 bedroom, well-equipped kitchen, a flat-screen TV and air conditioning, and a lovely garden setting. Towels and bed linen are provided. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of country life including bird watching, bush walking, seasonal kayaking on the Avon river, swimming in the pool, or cooking up a feast on the BBQ.

Talbot

Talbot is one room in a complex of 2 in our renovated historic coachhouse, relocated from Peppermint Grove. The coachhouse is set in a small lawn/garden area with fig trees and grapevines surrounding the entrance. The room is a large room with a queen-size bed Microwave, FTA TV, Small fridge, RC AirCon, Electric fry pan, toaster, etc. as well as coffee and tea-making facilities. There is also a shared BBQ for all Coachhouse guests.

The Inn

The Inn is a one room queen bed bungalow with a private en-suite, and the perfect location for a couples getaway. Built circa 1833, the Inn is steeped in history, with it literally carved into the walls of the bungalow. Apart from being a wayside tavern (hence the name) The Inn also served as a general store and also as the post office for the Northam - Toodyay area

Gate House
What a fabulous place to stay! The Gate House is unique and is well-equipped. It has everything you could need and is very comfortable. We would thoroughly recommend a visit!
