Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for several years now. After years of traveller's requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 11 caravan/camping/tent sites.
With only 11 unpowered sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends.
3 clean instant portable toilets.
A refreshing cold bush shower is available on site.
The farm also features a fantastic communal area for fellow traveller's to meet, chat, have a few drinks, sit by the amazing fire pit (during winter months), have a BBQ.
The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits, chooks and peacocks.
Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property,

NO INDIVIDUAL CAMP FIRES ALLOWED. Due to guest, animal and property safety. Guest breaking this rule will be asked to leave the property.
The Julimar Forest is conveniently located just 2kms away.
The fabulous township of Toodyay is only 8 minutes away.
Sandalwood Downs Farm:
-The property is 100 acres of beautiful tranquility. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic couple experience. Not suitable for large noisy party groups.
-The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay.
RULES AND GUILDELINES.
While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s happiness, comfort and safety.
YOUR FAMILIES SAFELY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US:
- No bikes sorry. As we are a farm we do not have bike trails or paths. The paddocks are uneven terrain with incline and decline and are not safe for riding.
- No yelling or squealing in the communal / play ground area. This area is for everybody's enjoyment. If your children are yelling and squealing you will all be asked to leave the communal area.
- Please supervise your children at ALL times, this is for their safety. Children are not allowed to roam free around the farm without adults. Please ensure your children do not yell, squeal or run whilst around the animals.
-Children must be supervised in the communal playground area, The playground is closed for use at 6.pm.
- No lighting of campfires. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment,
-Fabulous communal fire pit open during winter months. No individual site camp fires due to safety of our property, animals and guests.
-If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues.
-No dogs permitted on the property due to our animals roaming free.
-You must be totally self contained, own power and water, (3 clean portable toilet and refreshing cold bush shower are available for use in the communal area).
-Please take away all rubbish.
-No big party groups.
-Quiet time from 7.30pm please. Please consider other guests and our neighbours.
-Check out of campsite by 11 am please.
-If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch an animal that has escaped.
- Please do not enter animal enclosures/ paddocks without Jane or Marc.
-As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals.
-You approach all animals at your own risk
-Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc.
-Please drive very slowly through paddocks 10km per hour as animals roam freely.
-You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evacuation plan. Make sure you read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us.
-Arrival during day light hours is a must please arrival by 6pm, for yours and our animals safety. The front gate will be locked at 6pm for security reasons and will not unlocked till morning.

Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush.
There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property.
Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :)
Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter.
Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions).

Redgum Hill
Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting.
Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter.
Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm.
Creek Junction
Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue.
Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them.
Hidden Corner
Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of our five campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind.
Shed Pad
Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed with an optional private bathroom. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents.
It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

This farm is for the caravaners only no tents or swags, small pets allowed but must be kept close and not roaming free.
There are 3 dams close to where you’ll be camping and are not fenced off, so if you’re bringing the kids please be aware of this.
There is a strict - no driving around the property rule as there are other occupants on the property aswell as dry grass. And please by all means if you want to take a walk through the bush then that is absolutely allowed and encouraged, but please do so by using the fire break along the fence line for accessing the state forest and taking that Mundi biddi trail experience.
If the bush walk isn’t for you then laying back watching the kangaroos admiring the beautiful valley views and taking all the serenity of the Forrest in is another option.
These sites require full self contained vans with dumping points available in town. Power and wifi is also available for an additional $10 a per/day
There is bore water available at the camp site and although it’s clean and we use the same water- it is unfiltered.
There is also a small fire pit available but only for the cooler months.
Contact the host prior to your stay if you wish to use power and wifi.

Just a short stroll from your accommodation, the Donnelly River invites you to drop in a fishing line, wander along its banks, or simply relax and listen to the soothing sounds of the water and surrounding forest.
For those seeking a secluded escape, our ensuite sites provide private spots with rustic amenities, including a toilet, shower, access to water, power, and a BBQ. Please note that we do not have a camper’s kitchen, and fire restrictions apply during the warmer months.
If you prefer a touch of luxury, our glamping suites are fully equipped with a king-sized bed, kitchen, outdoor bath, and projector—perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. These tents offer stunning views overlooking our dam.
While swimming in the dam is not allowed, it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic in one of our cabanas.
During the day, explore local wineries—including one right next door—indulge in honey and chocolate from nearby producers, or take advantage of the many forest and national park trails. You can also enjoy fishing and swimming in the Donnelly River before unwinding under the starry night sky back at camp.

We offer a quiet retreat 5kms up Sandhills Road with a winter brook and peaceful meadows on a country farm set in the beautiful Brookhampton Valley 9kms from Donnybrook and close to many local attractions and wineries with the towns of Bunbury ,Donnybrook,Balingup,Bridgetown and Collie within a pleasant afternoons drive plus the Bibbulum trails are easily accessed.
It’s peaceful with plenty of space for winding down. You can see the redtail cockatoos that visit us in December plus a nature walk to wander along (ask for details )
The Hipcamp is located away from the main house so is private. There is an artists studio on the property with the main woodfired salt glazing pottery kiln being fired once or twice a year. We welcome visitors to the studio -lots happening at Easter 2026(see photos)
We often have our own eggs, honey, fruit and farm produce for sale.
There is grey water available for topping your tanks up

There is a 10pm curfew - no arrivals to the Camp will be allowed after dark so if you cannot arrive before dark please book for the next day.

Drive all the way to the end of the gravel drive go past the main house gate (a large wooden gate) keep going down the track to the farm gate -open and shut it behind you always -line up straight to the bridge and drive straight across it and into the hipcamp
We have camping available during the music festival at Newlands in the New Year Brookhampton Blues in February -Easter for the Donnybrook Apple Festival - the TOMR bike race at the end of October and the Medieval Festival in Balingup as well as available throughout the year depending on the weather

RULES AND GUILDELINES.
While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s happiness, comfort and safety.
YOUR FAMILIES SAFELY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US:
- No bikes sorry. As we are a farm we do not have bike trails or paths. The paddocks are uneven terrain with incline and decline and are not safe for riding.
- No yelling or squealing in the communal / play ground area. This area is for everybody's enjoyment. If your children are yelling and squealing you will all be asked to leave the communal area.
- Please supervise your children at ALL times, this is for their safety. Children are not allowed to roam free around the farm without adults. Please ensure your children do not yell, squeal or run whilst around the animals.
-Children must be supervised in the communal playground area, The playground is closed for use at 6.pm.
- No lighting of campfires. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment,
-Fabulous communal fire pit open during winter months. No individual site camp fires due to safety of our property, animals and guests.
-If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues.
-No dogs permitted on the property due to our animals roaming free.
-You must be totally self contained, own power and water, (3 clean portable toilet and refreshing cold bush shower are available for use in the communal area).
-Please take away all rubbish.
-No big party groups.
-Quiet time from 7.30pm please. Please consider other guests and our neighbours.
-Check out of campsite by 11 am please.
-If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch an animal that has escaped.
- Please do not enter animal enclosures/ paddocks without Jane or Marc.
-As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals.
-You approach all animals at your own risk
-Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc.
-Please drive very slowly through paddocks 10km per hour as animals roam freely.
-You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evacuation plan. Make sure you read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us.
-Arrival during day light hours is a must please arrival by 6pm, for yours and our animals safety. The front gate will be locked at 6pm for security reasons and will not unlocked till morning.

Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush.
There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property.
Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :)
Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter.

Redgum Hill
Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting.
Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter.
Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm.
Creek Junction
Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue.
Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them.
Hidden Corner
Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of our five campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind.
Shed Pad
Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed with an optional private bathroom. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents.
It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

With nearby watering holes and the Murray river only a short drive away this farm stay is one of a kind as it backs onto state Forrest where the Mundi biddi trail runs past.
This farm is for the caravaners only no tents or swags, small pets allowed but must be kept close and not roaming free.
There are 3 dams close to where you’ll be camping and are not fenced off, so if you’re bringing the kids please be aware of this.
There is a strict - no driving around the property rule as there are other occupants on the property aswell as dry grass. And please by all means if you want to take a walk through the bush then that is absolutely allowed and encouraged, but please do so by using the fire break along the fence line for accessing the state forest and taking that Mundi biddi trail experience.
If the bush walk isn’t for you then laying back watching the kangaroos admiring the beautiful valley views and taking all the serenity of the Forrest in is another option.
These sites require full self contained vans with dumping points available in town. Power and wifi is also available for an additional $10 a per/day
There is bore water available at the camp site and although it’s clean and we use the same water- it is unfiltered.
There is also a small fire pit available but only for the cooler months.
Contact the host prior to your stay if you wish to use power and wifi.

We offer a quiet retreat 5kms up Sandhills Road with a winter brook and peaceful meadows on a country farm set in the beautiful Brookhampton Valley 9kms from Donnybrook and close to many local attractions and wineries with the towns of Bunbury ,Donnybrook,Balingup,Bridgetown and Collie within a pleasant afternoons drive plus the Bibbulum trails are easily accessed.
It’s peaceful with plenty of space for winding down. You can see the redtail cockatoos that visit us in December plus a nature walk to wander along (ask for details )
The Hipcamp is located away from the main house so is private. There is an artists studio on the property with the main woodfired salt glazing pottery kiln being fired once or twice a year. We welcome visitors to the studio -lots happening at Easter 2026(see photos)
We often have our own eggs, honey, fruit and farm produce for sale.
There is grey water available for topping your tanks up
There are brochures in the studio for more information on the local attractions.

There is a 10pm curfew - no arrivals to the Camp will be allowed after dark so if you cannot arrive before dark please book for the next day.
Entry to the property is via a farm gate which must be opened and shut behind you

Drive all the way to the end of the gravel drive go past the main house gate (a large wooden gate) keep going down the track to the farm gate -open and shut it behind you always -line up straight to the bridge and drive straight across it and into the hipcamp
We have camping available during the music festival at Newlands in the New Year Brookhampton Blues in February -Easter for the Donnybrook Apple Festival - the TOMR bike race at the end of October and the Medieval Festival in Balingup as well as available throughout the year depending on the weather

We stayed on Site 1 and it was excellent.
All the facilities are very clean and the grounds very well looked after. Small camp kitchen with super clean BBQ and great outdoor seating amongst the trees.
Loved the patches of grass on the property which were great to sit on and enjoy afternoon drinks close to nature.
Less than 1 hour from Perth makes it an easy weekend getaway.

We loved our stay at Evergreen Bush Stayz. It’s a peaceful, relaxing spot that really lets you switch off and enjoy being surrounded by nature — and it’s so close to Perth, which makes it an easy getaway without a long drive.
The sites are well cared for, spacious and thoughtfully set up. It’s also dog friendly, which we really appreciated. Evenings around the fire were a highlight, and the star gazing was beautiful — clear skies, quiet bush and no rush to be anywhere.
Mark was welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. A great option if you’re looking for a simple, comfortable bush stay close to the city. We’d happily return.
