Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for several years now. After years of traveller's requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 11 caravan/camping/tent sites.
With only 11 unpowered sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends.
3 clean instant portable toilets.
A refreshing cold bush shower is available on site.
The farm also features a fantastic communal area for fellow traveller's to meet, chat, have a few drinks, sit by the amazing fire pit (during winter months), have a BBQ.
The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits, chooks and peacocks.
Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property,

The fabulous township of Toodyay is only 8 minutes away.

-The property is 100 acres of beautiful tranquility. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic couple experience. Not suitable for large noisy party groups.
-The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay.
RULES AND GUILDELINES.
While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s happiness, comfort and safety.
YOUR FAMILIES SAFELY IS VERY IMPORTANT TO US:
- No bikes sorry. As we are a farm we do not have bike trails or paths. The paddocks are uneven terrain with incline and decline and are not safe for riding.
- No yelling or squealing in the communal / play ground area. This area is for everybody's enjoyment. If your children are yelling and squealing you will all be asked to leave the communal area.
- Please supervise your children at ALL times, this is for their safety. Children are not allowed to roam free around the farm without adults. Please ensure your children do not yell, squeal or run whilst around the animals.
-Children must be supervised in the communal playground area, The playground is closed for use at 6.pm.
- No lighting of campfires. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment,
-Fabulous communal fire pit open during winter months. No individual site camp fires due to safety of our property, animals and guests.
-If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues.
-No dogs permitted on the property due to our animals roaming free.
-You must be totally self contained, own power and water, (3 clean portable toilet and refreshing cold bush shower are available for use in the communal area).
-Please take away all rubbish.
-No big party groups.
-Quiet time from 7.30pm please. Please consider other guests and our neighbours.
-Check out of campsite by 11 am please.
-If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch an animal that has escaped.
- Please do not enter animal enclosures/ paddocks without Jane or Marc.
-As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals.
-You approach all animals at your own risk
-Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc.
-Please drive very slowly through paddocks 10km per hour as animals roam freely.
-You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evacuation plan. Make sure you read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us.
-Arrival during day light hours is a must please arrival by 6pm, for yours and our animals safety. The front gate will be locked at 6pm for security reasons and will not unlocked till morning.

We are closed from 1 Dec through to 31 March due to High Fire Risk.
Our 43-hectare property is on the edge of the Darling Scarp behind the historical Fairbridge Village. Only 1 hour south of Perth, so it is close enough for a quick weekend getaway but far enough to enjoy the silence of the bush.
There are elevated campsites with views west towards Mandurah and the Peel Estuary, northwest views toward Perth City, and three dams on the property.
Guests must be fully self-contained, as no toilets or showers are available. Just amazing views :)
Some locations are suitable for tents only, and some for caravans only. 4WD/AWDs are recommended as most sites are not easily accessible with a 2WD vehicle, especially during winter.
Dog friendly. Campfires are permitted in designated areas with the host's approval (depending on fire restrictions).

Redgum Hill
Nestled in amongst the red gums on an elevated position near the edge of the property, you will be camping next to the old hay shed. The birdlife here is amazing, with red tailed cockatoos and honeyeaters amongst others frequently visiting.
Please take care whilst exploring around this area, there are some deep rabbit warrens around the hay shed, which can be hidden in the grass in winter.
Valley Vista
Valley Vista is a private and secluded haven, on an elevated spot backed onto state forest looking down over the valley, with arguably the best views of the farm.
Creek Junction
Creek Junction is a peaceful area by the creek line nestled in amongst the trees, where the gully running down the hill meets the creek. One of our three dams is hidden in amongst the tea tree bushes nearby. You can see the house from this campsite, but it is far enough away that privacy is not an issue.
Please be aware, all of our dams are seasonal and will be very low in the summer months. We also recommend that you do not swim in them.
Hidden Corner
Hidden Corner is situated at the back corner of the property. It is the most isolated of our five campsites with views of the open paddock and across the valley in front of you and state forest behind.
Shed Pad
Shed Pad is our only powered site (15 amp) situated next to the main shed with an optional private bathroom. It has a patio area with a table and 4 chairs (an extra 2 can be provided if required). WIFI is also available for an additional fee. It is an intimate site, perfect for one large caravan or two small caravans and a couple of swags/tents.
It overlooks neighbouring paddocks and state forest. it is at the entrance to the property next to the main shed and in close proximity to the house.

We can take tents, camper trailers, RV's and small caravans up to about 8 m is OK. We do not have power to the campsite. The camp ground is on a working lavender farm and farming activities may be happening.
We are small and exclusive so if you can't arrive before DARK please do not book if you cant get to our location during the checkin window 3 to 6 PM
The lavender farm shop and cafe is open Thursday to Sundays in term and Thursday to Monday during school holidays (closed February, March and 2 weeks) but campers can purchase lavender products on request and order takeaway from the menu
Camp fires in season (Usually May to September) and weather permitting. We supply fallen logs for the communal fire pit please do not bring your own but fires only at night and not in the morning please! If you have your own firepit or want one you need to purchase a bag of wood.
Breakfast Basket or BBQ packs available, these are cook your own we supply all the ingredients and tools or dine in our cafe during your stay.

We are small and the sites are close together, we fill up during long weekends and some events. So if your seeking a peaceful campsite then do not book at these times.
We only have TELSTRA and the signal is not always good. We do not provide wifi to campers unless there is an urgent need!
Our campground is not suitable for all children and we do not have entertainment for children, we recommend other campsites that are better suited for children. eg Karri Valley resort

Nestled in the forests along the Donnelly River, between Pemberton and Nannup in Western Australia’s Southern Forests, our property offers a peaceful retreat. We provide a range of accommodation, including cozy cottages, glamping suites, and ensuite caravan sites—. Some cottages and all the ensuite caravan/camping sites are pet friendly.
Just a short stroll from your accommodation, the Donnelly River invites you to drop in a fishing line, wander along its banks, or simply relax and listen to the soothing sounds of the water and surrounding forest.
For those seeking a secluded escape, our ensuite sites provide private spots with rustic amenities, including a toilet, shower, access to water, power, and a BBQ. Please note that we do not have a camper’s kitchen, and fire restrictions apply during the warmer months.
If you prefer a touch of luxury, our glamping suites are fully equipped with a king-sized bed, kitchen, outdoor bath, and projector—perfect for couples looking for a romantic getaway. These tents offer stunning views overlooking our dam.
While swimming in the dam is not allowed, it’s a beautiful spot for a picnic in one of our cabanas.
During the day, explore local wineries—including one right next door—indulge in honey and chocolate from nearby producers, or take advantage of the many forest and national park trails. You can also enjoy fishing and swimming in the Donnelly River before unwinding under the starry night sky back at camp.

Welcome to Paws & Feathers Farm
Set on 9 acres of semi-rural bushland in Baldivis, Paws & Feathers Farm offers a peaceful, back-to-nature camping experience without the long drive. We’re just 20 minutes from the beaches of Rockingham or Mandurah and 50 minutes from Perth city, making it perfect for a quick getaway or a relaxed base while you explore the region.
Our mostly uncleared bush property is home to abundant birdlife, with regular visits from black cockatoos and other native species. The campsite itself is a flat, open grassed area with easy access.
This is simple, fully self-contained camping only. Guests must bring their own toilet, as no toilets or showers are provided.
What we offer:
• Max 2 bookings at any time (With plenty of room for everyone!)
• Peaceful setting
• Campfires permitted when seasonal restrictions allow
(Note: Fires are prohibited until the end of summer in line with WA fire regulations)
• Filtered bore water available for small tank top-ups by request
(Please note: we do not have mains water)
Please note:
• Guests must be fully self-contained, including their own toilet
• No dogs permitted, as we have three friendly farm dogs who roam freely and will definitely come down to say hello 🐶 (AKA must love dogs!)
• The property is fully fenced
• Please take all rubbish with you and leave the site as you found it
To help us keep the grass in good condition, please don’t place large mats out on the green areas. You’re more than welcome to set up mats on the sand 👍

Excellent Host Mark, greeted us from the gate and made our stay enjoyable. This place is a hidden gem. We stayed at site 1 and enjoyed every bit of it, peaceful bush setting, communal fire place with plenty of wood. Cant wait for another visit as this is so close to perth but far from the urban hustle and bustle. The bindoon bakehaus is a must visit.

I loved camping at RAC Margaret River Nature Park. It's a really cosy park with lots of trees and spacious and clean sites. The BBQ space is very functional and plenty of room for all patrons with a big communal camp fire. The ablutions are spotless and a lovely shower with great water pressure. It's close to all things to do in the area. Lots of families enjoyed the bike trails through the bush. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Loved our stay, the kids loved playing with the owners kids on all the play equipment! And the added bonus of puppy pats and cuddles was great. Nice flat grassed area to park the van. And a fire pit is provided!

We loved it at Paws and Feathers. Alicia and Yami are very warm people with friendly kids and dogs! We were made to feel very welcome for our whole stay and nothing was a bother. Our kids loved their climbing equipment and playing with the dogs. Such a great location, close to everything but so quiet and peaceful.

The area we stayed at (Auditorium) was perfect and private. Our pup had a ball and it was a perfect place for us to unwind. Pinjarra is only just up the road and a great place to visit, as was Variations distillery for a few drinks and a pizza lunch.
2nd time we have visited and so easy to get too from busy Perth.
