Tiny Castle at Tynecastle Park

19km from Warragul · 1 site
Tiny Castle is a custom built tiny house that overlooks farmland, bushland and the glorious Stzelecki Ranges including Mount Worth. With a large covered deck connected to the front of the tiny house, you don't have to go anywhere to witness Wedge-tailed Eagles, Black Cockatoos, King Parrots, Rosellas and Kookaburra to name a few. Or wombats scurrying into their warren in the embankment just below the tiny house. Or the wallabies that hang out in the front paddock. If you're a fit walker, you can hike up to the back of the property that borders an old pine plantation now full of regrowth where herds of deer call it home. At the right time of day, you're likely to see all kinds of water fowl in the damns around the property. And if you're lucky, our 3 alpaca will let you photograph them as they stare you down, but no cuddles for these guys -- they're there to keep the foxes away. Night time is magical. With no light pollution, it's a stargazers paradise and on a still evening you'll hear boobooks, possums and frogs. The popular tourist village of Yarragon is 16km down a winding unsealed road one way, while the larger town of Mirboo North is about the same distance going the other way. Mount Worth State Park is 13km from our property and Lyrebird Forest Walk Regional Park is 26km just outside Mirboo North. While there's a lot to do around these parts, my guess is you won't want to leave the property.

Leave the noise of the city behind and travel to Noojee, a town named after the Aboriginal word for contentment or place to rest. Surrounded by lush native bush and towering tree ferns, this picturesque town on the Latrobe River sits on the main access route to the ski fields of Mt Baw Baw and is home to a wide range of heritage and natural attractions. The property consists of 5 acres with a river, so you can set up a tent right next to the river and fish for dinner. The house is about 100 meters away from the camping area, but there are about 1000 Oregon trees that are 50 years old, so you can't see each other well, so you can enjoy nature freely. 4WD is recommended for easy access. We recommend tents/swags. 4WD with Heavy trailer is still very hard to enter when it is wet. Guests will have access to a toilet throughout their stay. There is a communal fire pit available, so guests can enjoy a campfire on the cool evenings. Please abide by any local fire restrictions during your stay. You can walk from my house to Noojee Heritage Centre, Trestle Bridge, Alpine Trout Farm, and Noojee Hotel for a delicious pizza, Cool beer from tool sheed and coffee from red duck cafe. You can drive to Toorongo Falls, Ada Tree in 10 minutes and Baw Baw Ski Resort in 40 minutes.

Heaven on Earth. We must be the luckiest people alive to have somehow become the owners of this property which is only a short drive from the breathtaking Wilsons Promontory, and according to Lonely Planet, the second best beach in the WORLD. The property has an abundance of temperate rainforest including massive gum trees, 6m tall tree ferns, permanent spring fed creeks, our own lake and more Australian wildlife than most zoos*. Living here, we feel like we're on holiday every day of the year. Camping sites are situated at the back of the property just a quick 5-minute walk from the car park. We'll transport your gear to your campsite so you can get set up quickly and start exploring the property or just kick back and relax. The three campsites are positioned so that you won't hear a sound from any other campers on the property. You will feel like you've got the whole place to yourself. And even though the campsites are isolated you'll still enjoy the convenience of clean regular flushing toilet facilities. But unlike any toilet you'll have used before, you'll get to enjoy a our unique loo with a view which is situated right amongst the rainforest looking out over the magestic tree ferns! Whether you intend to simply relax and listen to all the birdlife, grab a few drinks and head up to the viewing deck to watch the sunset, or put on your hiking boots and explore the rainforest, whatever you do, you will truly get back to nature. As one guest said, "I literally wanted to hug a tree". So what are you waiting for, come and hug one of our trees**. * comparison made with zoos that don't have many Australian animals ** please ensure you have the tree's consent first ;)

Pitch your tent or camper near our picturesque dam with 3 jetties, a boat shed and walking track along dam. Throw in a yabbie net and get the kids to catch some yabbies, they are great cooked up with chilli & garlic. Our property joins onto the Neerim East State Park for those walking enthusiasts or we can accommodate your horse in our yards should you want to explore the bush with many tracks directly from the property. We offer drinking water & toilet accessed from house. Neerim South is home to many wildlife and expect to see many bird species, kangaroos, deer and the odd wombat trailing through. Chris & I are campers ourselves, so we know how nice it is to have a quiet and private spot all to ourselves, however before long you have people on top of you at caravan parks or at free camping you may experience the doof doof music until god knows what hour. So we offer exclusive private campsite all to your self, we only book one group at a time. Neerim South is home to many wildlife and expect to see many bird species, kangaroos, deer and the odd wombat trailing through. FIRE PLAN In the event of high fire danger periods our campers may be asked to evacuate the property for their safety. Instructions will be provided prior. In the event of fires in surrounding areas, it may be necessary to cancel a future booking and or evacuate the site at short notice, this will be reimbursed by Hipcamps. Campers will be notified in the event of total fire bans, this mean no outside fires.
