The chicory kiln at the entrance is known as the “Bern Denham kiln”. Bern Denham was one of the three original entrepreneurs in the 1920s who were the first to take tourists by torchlight to see the little penguins’ nightly arrival on the beach. Not to mention he was an influential contributor in getting the Phillip Island racetrack built and up and running.
Please Note: Our property and all sites do not have any external power, water or toilet facilities available for campers so you will need to be completely self – contained in a caravan, campervan or roof top tent set up. We actually can not offer Tent Sites (Tents, Swags, sleeping in cars etc) Please confirm that you are fully self contained when making the booking
Our check - in on the day of arrival is between 2.00pm - 5.00pm and we appreciate an estimated time of arrival. Our property is 5 acres comprising of a farmhouse, shed and gardens. Our campsites are grassy green flat paddocks with separate access, great views across open green pastures of grazing cattle and sheep with views of the majestic hills of Dumbalk South.
There's plenty to see and do in the area from the amazing Wilson's Prom Nat. Park (40 mins), to country town shopping (2 mins), waterfalls and more.
We are only a 10min walk or 3min bike ride from the Great Southern Rail Trail which is a multi-use, gentle trail suitable for all abilities and fitness levels, covering 14 towns and 130klm it runs from Nyora to Yarrum with panoramic views of lush farmland, rainforest and pristine seascapes. The Great Southern Rail Trail links several unique towns.
Just across the road you'll find Stony Creek Go Karts which is at 800 metres long, the longest Hire Kart track in Victoria and one of the few tracks that have racing karts and hire out karts as well as provide facilities to bring your own. (Book if poss). They also have other games facilities and an on-site café with great coffee and pizzas!
Ten minutes drive towards Dumbalk South takes you to Blue Tree Honey Farm, a great little tourist attraction where you can taste and buy honey from local areas, sample a beautiful cream tea/coffee, have lunch in the cafe or sit outside and admire the scenic countryside.
Just down the road towards Foster on your right you will find a fabulous panoramic lookout platform with views of Wilson's Promontory National Park (40 min) comprised of 125,000 acres of rainforests, extremely beautiful beaches, rugged granite mountains and abundant wildlife. Trails from the Tidal River settlement lead to Squeaky Beach, with its white quartz squeaky sand. Nearby, Mt. Oberon offers views of Bass Strait and offshore islands and Wilsons Promontory Light station, built in 1859, is on the southern coast.
Nearby towns for shopping are Meeniyan, Leongatha and Foster. Leongatha has an indoor pool and Foster has a surprisingly good museum which as you walk through there are outbuildings like a jail and a schoolhouse, complete with school children!
There are so many attractions nearby as well as local festivals and markets just about every weekend that you will keep coming back to fit them all in.

We love it here and we know you will too.
We have a couple of site options and you’ll have your own camp area - you may be the only campers or there may be others on the other side of the paddock or the orchard next door depending on time of year. You’ll have your own private space but will be close enough to the action to see the comings and goings of our multigenerational family as we potter around the farm, veggie garden and orchard. Say hi! Say g'day to the curious chooks and friendly dogs and enjoy the top-notch "equine views" from your site with three lovely horses in the nearby paddock.

The main camp site has a large flat area and can accommodate most vehicles. The other site has some smaller flat areas to choose from. The grass can be a bit rough and expect some sticks and twigs and holes around. Horses sometimes graze the paddock and poo is picked up but if you're lucky you might find some remnants!
No wild party groups, please! Please respect the peaceful surrounds, our family and neighbours, so please keep the noise down after 10pm.
Sorry, but dogs are generally not allowed as we have dogs, free-ranging chickens, horses and cattle, and they may not mix well!

The chicory kiln at the entrance is known as the “Bern Denham kiln”. Bern Denham was one of the three original entrepreneurs in the 1920s who were the first to take tourists by torchlight to see the little penguins’ nightly arrival on the beach. Not to mention he was an influential contributor in getting the Phillip Island racetrack built and up and running.
Please Note: Our property and all sites do not have any external power, water or toilet facilities available for campers so you will need to be completely self – contained in a caravan, campervan or roof top tent set up. Our check - in on the day of arrival is between 2.00pm - 5.00pm and we appreciate an estimated time of arrival. Our property is 5 acres comprising of a farmhouse, shed and gardens. Our campsites are grassy green flat paddocks with separate access, great views across open green pastures of grazing cattle and sheep with views of the majestic hills of Dumbalk South.
There's plenty to see and do in the area from the amazing Wilson's Prom Nat. Park (40 mins), to country town shopping (2 mins), waterfalls and more.
We are only a 10min walk or 3min bike ride from the Great Southern Rail Trail which is a multi-use, gentle trail suitable for all abilities and fitness levels, covering 14 towns and 130klm it runs from Nyora to Yarrum with panoramic views of lush farmland, rainforest and pristine seascapes. The Great Southern Rail Trail links several unique towns.
Just across the road you'll find Stony Creek Go Karts which is at 800 metres long, the longest Hire Kart track in Victoria and one of the few tracks that have racing karts and hire out karts as well as provide facilities to bring your own. (Book if poss). They also have other games facilities and an on-site café with great coffee and pizzas!
Ten minutes drive towards Dumbalk South takes you to Blue Tree Honey Farm, a great little tourist attraction where you can taste and buy honey from local areas, sample a beautiful cream tea/coffee, have lunch in the cafe or sit outside and admire the scenic countryside.
Just down the road towards Foster on your right you will find a fabulous panoramic lookout platform with views of Wilson's Promontory National Park (40 min) comprised of 125,000 acres of rainforests, extremely beautiful beaches, rugged granite mountains and abundant wildlife. Trails from the Tidal River settlement lead to Squeaky Beach, with its white quartz squeaky sand. Nearby, Mt. Oberon offers views of Bass Strait and offshore islands and Wilsons Promontory Light station, built in 1859, is on the southern coast.
Nearby towns for shopping are Meeniyan, Leongatha and Foster. Leongatha has an indoor pool and Foster has a surprisingly good museum which as you walk through there are outbuildings like a jail and a schoolhouse, complete with school children!
There are so many attractions nearby as well as local festivals and markets just about every weekend that you will keep coming back to fit them all in.

The grass can be a bit rough and expect some sticks and twigs and holes around. Horses sometimes graze the paddock and poo is picked up but if you're lucky you might find some remnants!
No wild party groups, please! Please respect the peaceful surrounds, our family and neighbours, so please keep the noise down after 10pm.
Sorry, but dogs are generally not allowed as we have dogs, free-ranging chickens, horses and cattle, and they may not mix well!

Really green and plenty of space between sites. The paddock is quite exposed so if it does get windy make sure you are prepared! Toilet was clean.

We loved camping at Milleara Gardens! It was a nice large, secure area, family friendly, with access to water. Toilet and shower was also available for an extra fee. Helen was lovely and greeted us upon arrival and checked in with us during our stay. We were part of a large group (3 bookings, 15 adults and 12 kids, with plenty of space for a long weekend. The stars at night out there were beautiful!

Caitlin was a lovely, welcoming host . Beautiful property close to the town and beach. We were on the “hill top” site which is the most private of the three sites, it does look onto the main site & you have to walk through the main site to access amenities. Good distance between sites & lovely having the horse paddocks next to us & free roaming chickens - plenty of toddler entertainment! Thanks for having us :)

Will not accommodate a tall or a long setup/van as the access to the site is through a tight row of narrow pine trees with overhanging branches. We were unable to stay.

We loved this stay so much that we booked again as we travelled home. It was our first “all to yourself” stay and we loved the peace and privacy surrounded by nature vs other campers. The camp is in a beautiful bush setting with a short drive to both Wonthaggi and Inverloch. The access to water was appreciate particularly during extreme heat and bins meant we could travel lighter on the way home. The owners are helpful and lovely, Gypsie (their dog) also visited our camp for a pat and was great with our lab. Thanks for a lovely long weekend!

Accueil parfait. J’ai dû décaler 2 fois l’heure d’arrivée sans soucis et ai été accueilli avec de la lumière comme il y avait beaucoup de vent il m’a même été proposé leur caravane. Il y a sur place une douche et un wc propre et fonctionnel ainsi qu’un coin cuisine bien équipé
