Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we anticipate our Fire Danger Period for the 2025/2026 Summer Season will commence in the coming weeks. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. This area is also popular for 4 wheel driving and there are plenty of tracks in the nearby state forest if you have the correct gear, vehicle and an appreciation for the wilderness. Healesville, Yarra Glen and Kinglake are equal distance away (18-20 minute drives) with services, plenty of cafes, restaurants, wineries and shopping: Healesville: Coles, IGA, Aldi Yarra Glen: IGA Kinglake: Foodworks Relax around the fire in the evenings (out of the fire danger season) and enjoy some great star gazing. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

Our 5 metre bell tent has a queen bed with quality linen, electric blanket, bean bag lounge chairs, floor rugs, heater, fan, WiFi, bluetooth speaker, coffee machine, kettle with a selection of teas, mini fridge, crockery, cutlery, glassware and towels. The private bathrooom is located in our rustic house less than 50 metres away (via an independent entrance). It includes a toilet, shower (over a bath) and a vanity, with fluffy towels and essential toiletries. An à la carte vegetarian or vegan breakfast with "tent service" is included. Homecooked dinners and Devonshire teas are also available by arrangement. Guests are welcome to use our 10 metre swimming pool (in summer), chiminea and BBQ area with sweeping views of the valley below.

The place was right next to the National Park, so it was easy to access for walks. There was a lovely little walk along the creek too. The campsite itself was spacious and was great to have free wifi and power. Make sure you order the eggs and sourdough bread. They were absolutely delicious. Clara, the host, was lovely.

Weekend Trip to Macedon Ranges Glamping

We had a fantastic time here! Jonathan and Jennifer were so lovely and welcoming, and do a mean vegan breakfast! The bell tent had everything we needed including board games, a coffee machine, and a mini fridge. There's also a table and chairs outside of the tent so we relaxed out there with a bottle of wine. We loved seeing the local wildlife that they care for too. Will be back again!

Such a beautiful camping experience on an open plot of land owned by Kim and Glen. Clean toilet and plenty of space for my 2 year old to run about and dog to play fetch. We loved our stay! The large grassy sites along the creek were beautiful and so peaceful. The firepit, fresh sourdough from Kim, and our own super-clean toilet made the whole weekend feel easy and wholesome. The sites are well spaced out with plenty of room and privacy. We’ll definitely be back!

The scenery at this Hipcamp is breathtaking combined with the immaculately kept farm ensures an enjoyable stay Hosts were very responsive and supportive during my 4 day stay. Perfect quiet spot to recharge, firewood available for a cost, donate your cans if you can, saw a good amount of kangaroos and birds who also call this place home. Communication with Catherine was great, we felt comfortable before, during and after our stay! Would recommend if you’re looking for somewhere to base or recharge after a visit to the city.

We had a great time at Ferny Glades. Clean and tranquil listening to the river while sitting around the campfire. Michael was helpful and upbeat. It was easy to find and we fitted our van there easily. We will be back.
