This is a private oasis on re-vegetated land in secluded bushland. The property has been in existence since the 1870’s as a working farm producing some of the finest Merino wool in the world. Our wool is produced ethically and sustainably and is sourced by the Italian Woollen Mills to produce fine quality fashion. Our secret is the land and our nurturing of it and our sheep. We want to share our piece of paradise with campers who treat our land the way we do. Note: The creek and spring run in winter and spring—enjoy walking along the creek line under the Red Gums.

Gariwerd Farm Camp

$50/night for 2 people. Remote farm at the end of a road, no neighbours, and spectacular views of the Grampians (Gariwerd) that is most stunning in the morning as the sun hits Mt William. One camp site (one group only). The site accepts 8 people but if you are just two people you will have the place to yourselves except for the kangaroos, wallabies, emus, echidnas and birdlife. The campsite is situated next to our family's holiday farmhouse that we visit sometimes, but only when there are no guest campers. There is a fire pit with grill plates available to cook over the fire (note open fires cannot occur when fire restrictions are in place). Campers have access to the flush toilet, hot shower and kitchen in the house. The house is a work in progress. We are slowly renovating the house, so it is a bit rough but it is clean and functional and you will have the place to yourselves. Please respect the locked private areas of the house. Campers are expected to bring their own cooking pots, plates, cutlery, camp chairs, etc. Only 4 km from Moyston where you can get great coffee and visit the historic Mine Walk. Halls Gap is 35km away or head through the mountains over Redmans Road that takes you the scenic route to Halls Gap (2WD accessible in dry weather). Kalymna Falls and picnic ground is a beautiful 15 min bush drive from the farm. Book our Bell Tent on our wetlands or bring your own tent to camp in a wattle grove (located in our paddock on undulating grassed areas) choosing views of the Grampians or Langi Ghiran. Although the views are spectacular it does get rather dry in late summer/autumn. We are located on the Ararat-Halls Gap road close to the iconic Gariwerd National Park and Lake Fyans. Hiking, rock climbing, fishing, boating, swimming, wineries and excellent cafe's are all available in Gariwerd National Park and surrounds while nearby Lake Fyans provides safe boating, swimming and fishing opportunities. You are also welcome to explore our farm on foot or enjoy sunsets over the Gariwerd ranges All guests must be fully self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Closest dump points are Ararat and Stawell. Closest public toilets are at Pomonal Public Hall 4kms away. Unfortunately no campfires are permitted from now until the fire season ends. BBQ's are still permitted except on Total Fire Ban Days but care must be taken at all times.
