Craigie Knowe Vineyard is a working vineyard and cellar door, set on 20 hectares, with 5 hectares under vine. It is the oldest vineyard on the beautiful East Coast of Tasmania. The homestead was built in 1836 and is one of the most photographed houses in Tasmania. Please note Hipcamp charge an additional charge on top of the $25.00. Please look at our website for options. The cellar door is open 11-4, and offers chocolate and wine pairings, and normal tastings. We also have a restaurant on site open from 11:30 - 3:00 daily during summer. It is a beautiful vineyard with plenty of outside seating. There are also 5 other cellar doors within 10 minutes of the property, so it's a great basecamp for wine lovers! We have plenty of level ground, ideal for pulling up for a night or several. Please note, all campers must be self-contained, with their own toilet, and we kindly ask you take all waste with you. Just outside the property, the Swan River flows past, a great place to cool off on hot days, sometimes there are fish there too. Swansea is 16km away and Bicheno is 26km away. Both towns have IGA supermarkets, bottle shops and restaurants, and plenty of history. Freycinet National Park is 40 minutes, and makes for a great day trip, with beautiful walks, fantastic scenery, and of course iconic Wine Glass Bay.

Beautiful located right beside the Ringarooma River. Fish in the river, swim or just spot a platypus in the river. There is a kayak that you are welcome to use to have a paddle in the water. We have a 40ft shipping container now on site, this has books and games you are welcome to use during your stay. It also has jams, sauces and honey for sale. You can now find us and follow us on Facebook. Search Derby Frasers Flats. No Motorbikes to be used on site. No motorbikes to be used at this camp. Property is located a 5 minutes' drive out of Derby. You can cross the river and then you are on the bike track that will take you to Derby or Branxholm, this is a beautiful walking track or carry your bike across river then ride. Quiet location perfect place to stay for a few nights. Awesome quiet spot to get away. Property is on a working dairy/beef farm. Wood available for sale at camp to use in fire pits for just $10 a tub. We have just put in a private dump point for guest convince. By arrangement if time permits I can arrange for a cost of $20 per person a look at our dairy during milking.

A recently listed property. Be the first to stay! South of the Bay of Fires, North of Wineglass Bay. A beautiful bush acreage located a five minute amble from Beaumaris Beach. The eastern side has a cleared area with little private nooks to tuck yourself into. Ocean Drive is asphalt to the front gate, then it is firm, level, all weather access to the camping sites. There is clean and well maintained public toilets two hundred metres away. Plenty of kindling is available and camp fires allowed when https://www.fire.tas.gov.au/fire-danger-rating/ is not a total ban. Keep under a metre, ensure the ground is cleared around and attend until extinguished. Pets are welcome, especially dogs 👍 There are private walking trails on the property. St Helens is under fifteen minutes away, Bay of Fires 25 minutes. Scamander 5 minutes. The famous St Helens bike trails are under ten minutes drive or accessible on your bike via the back trails. Ride direct to the trail heads! There is fantastic nine hole golf course at Scamander. Pine Ridge has been developed over the years to be a natural park land with a good variety of local vegetation including stands of mature trees. lower scrub has been removed for physical and viewing access and to keep the property more secure and manageable. The vegetation also provides significant protection on windy days compared to many other open places. Native animals and birdlife abound the location. There is a community pergola area beside the substantial water hole which has a small jetty allowing easy access for swimming. There is also a stone barbecue and fire pit area available on suitable weather conditions. There are ocean views from the property's main road areas, which also provide a large area of flatish firm ground with large areas providing easy maneuverability and turning. The property is 2-3km from the main highway turn off that leads to the Douglas Apsley National Park. The corner of the property is only 50 meters from the park edge, with the Parks main access several km further along Rosedale Rd. The turn off is only 2 km from the town edge. It is sealed road except for the last 100meters and in good condition. FIRES. Ok unless a fire ban. GOOD BAGS OF WOOD ON SITE FOR $20. NO OUTSIDE WOOD CAN BE BROUGHT ONTO THE PROPERTY AND BURNT. I HAVE TRIED TO MAKE A MIDDLE GROUND ON THIS ISSUE BUT UNFORTUNATELY SOME HAVE ABUSED THE FAIR RULES SO THIS IS NOW THE SITUATION. NO FORAGING GROUND WOOD WITHOUT ASKING ME AND GETTING APPROVAL. How amazing to be able to spend the night in a vineyard! Was a magical scene at sunset and sunrise. I ended up with the whole site to myself given its off peak season, so was super quiet. I did the winery including tastings prior to my stay over, to ensure I could make the most of it:)

We loved getting the opportunity to stay in the vineyard in our Self Contained RV. We enjoyed waking up to a beautiful sunrise on this property. It was entertaining watching the sheep in the morning getting out of the gate and then the farmers coming to round them up as a taste of what a working farm is like. The vineyards were spectacular with the most grapes we have ever seen on the branches! We wish we could have spent more time to enjoy the winery and restaurant but that gives us more of a reason to come back to visit!

It’s so peaceful. You don’t have the crowds like Derby. It’s a shame that we couldn’t go and explore the river crossing to get to the Branxholm/Derby track. There were campers right where it is and we didn’t want to intrude on their privacy so had to drive to Derby to ride. We’ll definitely be back though.

Beautiful campsite literally amongst the vines at Craigie Knowe. Lovely to wander over in the afternoon to the cellar door for a drink and a cheese board. Glenn was a very accomodating host, his 3 dogs and chickens made us feel at home. Would highly recommend.

If you need a paddock to spend a night or 2 so you can leave your van and explore the area with your dog then this is it. Yes it's a basic paddock on a working farm with the dreaded sheep and poo they bring with them poo and trucks getting around. Also yes there's a gas gun going regularly as there's vineyards everywhere so if you mistake that for people shooting like clockwork all day then you need get out of the big smoke every now and then and live a little. Also If you don't have enough physical strength to pick up a broken gate then have chat to the friendly owners and see if they can fit you among the vines that way for you can sip some wine and feel like the fancy city slicker that you probably are. Yeah $30 bucks a night might be a tad steep in comparison but I'd pay it again for the stopover location we needed and nice host.
