Welcome to our home Tanah Merdeka! Enjoy a private and picturesque camp-site by the creek with views of rolling hills, rocky outcrops and ancient gumtrees. Watch the Kangaroos and the birdlife, see if you can spot a yabbee or frog in the creek and sit back and unwind. Tanah Merdeka is a 184 acre cattle farm currently stocked with Black Baldies, Speckle Park, Angus and Hereford. The creek line paddocks are dedicated to Hipcampers, so you can be assured your campsite won't be interrupted by curious cows during your stay. We can't say the same for the wild kangaroos that call Tanah Merdeka home though. Please be respectful of the working nature of the property and shut any gates you go through except for the automatic gates. Please respect our privacy and don't venture up the driveway towards the house. You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only. Please do not feed the wildlife or the cattle and practice leave no trace camping. For stays longer than one night campers must bring a portable chemical toilet. Use only the firepit provided and comply with current fire danger restrictions. Some firewood may be available next to the firepit but please bring your own firewood if intending to have a fire as this can't be guaranteed. Camping at Kangaroo Creek was lovely! Thomas met us upon arrival and told us about his beautiful land (and his adorable cows!). He was really nice and let us explore the grounds. The camp spot was private, quiet and was great for pitching our tent. We even saw a couple of kangaroos and a lot of cockatoos! The drive there was easy with a 2WD. We would definitely go back, and I can recommend it to everyone regardless of camping style!

Awesome camp in a paddock at Six Strings winery. Did the best tasting we've ever done with Michael, he took us through the whole process of growing through to bottling of his wines. Great base to explore McLaren Vale and surrounds from, and great alternative to a caravan park. Kim gave us some excellent cherries too! Would definitely recommend.

Very convenient location if visiting the northern side of Adelaide. Golden Grove, Salisbury and Elizabeth are less than 15 minutes away. Helen and her husband were very accommodating, they have their own dump point and there is a fire pit you can use outside of fire ban season. Starlink had good visibility to the sky and our small dogs had room to run. Would definitely stay again.

Kim and Michael’s property was a peaceful oasis overlooking the vines. We stayed here for 2 nights with family in 2 vans and loved the open space. Michael gave us a great wine tasting, explaining from start up of their family winery. Perfect location for exploring the McLaren region with Aldi close by for grocery top ups. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Kim and Michael’s vineyard. The outlook and sunsets over the vines is truly beautiful. They were lovely hosts and we got to sample some of their very nice wines which are available for purchase. They will happily assist with suggested places to visit whilst in McLaren Vale. We would highly recommend this Hipcamp.

Although the park was busy, its location and facilities were very convenient. The park is located between two busy coastal towns on a point with a quaint seaside village within a pushbike ride. The park was impeccably clean and facilities were in great condition with plenty of hot water. The land has access to two beaches and a small bluff to take in the sunset. Room for kids & dogs. Plenty of space to drive through for van and space for the car. Local town had some amazing venues and shops. Surf was plentiful with lots of local breaks. Didn’t really need to deal with the office so not sure on staff assistance. Great spot.

We stayed at campsite 1 , all sites are very pretty. Very well maintained & sheltered by a nice avenue of gums. The property has a pond full of frogs & ducks. Plenty of wildlife to make you feel like you are out in the country. Not 30 minutes from the CBD. Host Helen & her husband are lovely hosts.
