In 2019 I was sitting in my Alfresco Area feeling that the beauty offered in front of my property should be shared to people I thought might appreciate a different aspect to Coober. Since that time I have probably had 2000+ guests enjoy what Coober Pedy Views has to offer.
Whilst it remains a rustic type setting, with campers needing to be SELF SUFFICIENT (Flushing LOO with a VIEW is now available for campers without their own) I can offer Power (subject to availability) $10 pn to 6/8 sites.
Digging anywhere on the property is forbidden, there are no Opals on CPVs evident when the 3 large garages were dug. Digging softens the ground making it dangerous for avalanches on the embankments and walls especially after rain that creates washouts as you can see on the front embankments. Our Public Noodling Area is the only place in Coober safe to dig freely.

Site 6 is a little more private. You can hire fire pit $10 and crate of Wood $15. The portaloos were not in use, so it was a proper toilet/shower block. Can walk to coast along the river track.

We had a great time here on our first camping trip with kids. The fully enclosed site was fantastic for giving the children freedom to play safely. There were rocks to climb on and explore, plenty of space for walks, and we saw kangaroos nearby which the kids loved.
The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the site was easy to access with a nice flat surface for setting up camp. A lovely, relaxed spot for a family weekend away.

Stayed one night on the way to Alice Springs. The view is outstanding. Karen made sure our van was positioned so we would have the best view of the sunrise. Would stau again. It is away from the town and the views are WOW.
