You will have a 5-acres to explore during your visit with a large flat campsite area with power and water if that is what you need. The onsite caravan – BETTY – is available for you if you need a bit more of a glamping holiday. Toilet is a composting toot. Self sufficient sites are available as well in another part of The Croft property near the dam and is accessed via the main property.
Options for visitors are tailored for the horse rider however you don’t need a horse to visit and enjoy what The Croft has to offer. You can also spend time with the horses here with a variety of experiences available as extras and as part of package deals and our flag ship Back in the Saddle retreat option.
There are many things to do in Blackbutt as well as spending some time at The Croft. Every 3rd Sunday is our market day, the renowned Blackbutt Bakery is always at your disposal and a great pub for a pub grub night.
The horse trails network is 500m up the road and has signage with town 1 hour ride away which I can take you on a ride to on the 3rd Sunday Market Day! I have access to the rail trail via private property, or otherwise you can utilise Staines Road to get into Benarkin State Forestry or the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail.
Dogs are also welcome who are well behaved and on a leash if others have horses with them. Please note that you MUST ensure your dog has tick prevention prior to arrival. Bookings require pre approval please. This is non negotiable to prepare for your stay.
All welcome to visit and please enjoy a campsite that will only ever have 2 bookings at a time in the 1 acre camping area.

We have several peaceful campsites available on our off grid property near Crows Nest. Also a private glamping site with a 5m Bell Tent - with everything you need for a relaxing night away.
We are 10km north of the town of Crows Nest on the Great Dividing Range. 50 minutes from Toowoomba and 2 hours from Brisbane.
The hill on the property (Flat Top) is one of the highest points in the area at 700m altitude.
From the hilltop, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the surrounding area, with views across the Esk Valley towards the Sunshine Coast and sunsets over the hills surrounding Crows Nest.
There are 3 separate campsites on the hilltop, and another site further down the hill alongside the main driveway.
It is very quiet and peaceful, yet only a 10-minute drive to Crows Nest.
Enjoy the spring fed dam in the warmer months. 🏊♂️

We have a whole beautiful valley with crystal clear spring-fed creeks, patches of rain forest and hillsides covered in grass-trees backing onto Wrattens State Forest. There's 1,375 acres of land - the boundaries of our property are the ridges of the mountains that encircle us, and many rare species abound here.
This is a dog and horse friendly property but no pets allowed in the cabin. There is paralysis tick in this region - so we'd recommend treating any animal before you come and frequent checks while you're here.

Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.

Our accommodation is a quaint old shearer’s shack — The Shack — lovingly refurbished and now featuring indoor amenities including a kitchenette, shower, and flush toilet.
It comfortably sleeps 4–6 people, with extra camp beds available for larger groups or two families holidaying together. The open-plan space features polished hardwood floors, comfortable furniture, and a cozy fireplace perfect for chilly winter nights.
Outside, there’s a firepit with firewood provided. There’s no electricity at The Shack, but solar lights, a solar-powered fridge, gas hot water, a gas BBQ, and a small gas stove ensure all the essentials are covered. Mobile reception is patchy — we encourage guests to put their phones aside, unwind, and let the outside world drift away while you reconnect with nature.
Dogs are welcome but must be secured at all times. There’s a dog-proof fence around The Shack, but it is the guests’ responsibility to ensure pets remain within the fenced area or on a lead when walking on the property.

We are a multi-generational property, so you may see some of us wandering or driving around the property, these tracks are not close to the cabin site, but definitely in view of it, we'll definitely be mindful and respectful of your space and privacy while you stay with us. We also have a lovable short haired border collie named 'Benji', he will probably follow you down to the cabin and soak up as much love and attention as he can, he's harmless. We've tried to contain him in an enclosed area before, but he'd give Houdini a run for his money, please just rouse at him to go home.

This farm stay was the perfect escape for a night! The animals are all so friendly, and a nice surprise at the back door when waking up in the morning. My wife and I had such a nice time on the farm. We both loved the cabin and how you could get up and close with all the animals. It was a nice touch having the door next to the kitchen set up where you could pat and brush the cows and goats right there! We also were given a jar of chicken feed and some hay for the animals so we could feed them when we wanted - and they were all so used to humans. What a beautiful, tranquil spot. The cabins are comfortable with gas hot water to the ensuite, two burner gas cooktop, solar lighting and a 240 volt outlet suitable for the supplied fan or charging phones and laptops. The firepit area is shady during the day and close to the creek. Lots of birdlife and we spotted possums, marsupial mice, platypus and wallabies.
Host Jimmy is very helpful and welcoming and his directions are clear.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabins were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of room around them for our caravan and campervans. The fire pit is surrounded by a concrete slab, which was great. It's a lovely property, which is within easy reach of lots of great parts of the region. We hope to be back for a summer trip to enjoy a sit in the creek!
