2 nights up on The Ridge, was exactly what the Dr ordered! Tony was a fantastic host, friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. He escorted us up to our ‘penthouse suit’ which greeted us with the most gorgeous views. There was a large table and chairs as well a little ensuite set up between some trees. This was a nice surprise, nothing better than a bush shower! . The ground was very uneven and a bit rocky but that just added to the ruggered, grounding experience of it all. Being up on the ridge we had some very chilly winds, But lucky for us , Tony had a good supply of firewood for our stay ready to go. The creek area is very beautiful, the sound of it running, echos through the property which creates the perfect background noise for your stay. It’s just one magical place. We will be returning thank you Tony and Ralph!!

Recently embarked on an overnight stay at Rustic Resort. Chosen as it was dog friendly and not too far from home just to getaway for a night. It is a beautiful property, good sized camp sites, toilets not too far from any campsite, fire pits in place. It was my dog's first adventure, and she loved her morning and afternoon bush walks (as did I)! The dam is so picturesque! The hostess, Doris, popped by to welcome us which was lovely. Wasn't a great deal of privacy at our campsite (DoBuggerAll) however our neighbouring campers were friendly and the surrounds were stunning. Some great sites I've certainly noted to plan to book next, as we'll definitely be back! Lovely place to stay and if you run out of anything, wamuran township is just moments away.

Some cattle tracks for the kids to ride along in the paddock also. -Wivenhoe, Somerset Dam in the area for water sports -Wildlife watching, this paddock sustains a large variety of native animals, if you’ve got a keen eye -Bottle Tree pub is just down the road, - bit more than walking distance tho :) -Take it easy.

Come and relax at our flat, peaceful 5 acre hobby farm. Most animals wander around example the sheep, ducks and chooks, all the poultry. We have a mini pig (Splat) that has her own paddock as she likes to escape and you definately don't want a pig in your tent or swag or pushing your furniture about. 😆 She is super gentle and please go in and give her some belly rubs and pats. We also have Gibbles the male gobbler turkey (his gobble gobble is a delightful sound), dorper sheep, hens and Henry Rooster, so theres will be a cock a doodle do in the mornings, ducks and horses if I have enough grass. You can ask for the horses to be here for your visit, they are often at other agistment nearby. Baby animals are seasonal, ducklings and baby chicks in summer and lambs after winter roughly. There are a couple of small playgrounds, double flushing toilets, picnic tables and chairs for your convenience and a nice above ground pool to stay cool in. We have firewood for sale, and I make a great expresso coffee if your a coffee lover, like myself. Bring some cash for firewood, coffee and other bits and pieces. The $45 camp fee pays for 2 adults and 1 child. Extra adults campers are $20 adults and $5 for kids. We also offer day visits for $5 per person. Plenty of room for caravans, buses and horse floats. I have a round yard and horse yards and horses are $10 per horse/night to cover water costs. BYO hay. Wivenhoe Dam, Atkinson Dam and the Brisbane river are all closeby. The famous rail trail that a lot of horse riders and cyclists enjoy is just a klm down the road. (keep an eye out for koalas) Hope to see you soon.

Buranga Farm is a small organic family-run farm on 60 acres in the Noosa hinterland only ten minutes from Peregian Beach. The property is largely flat with a hill on the Eastern side and a ridgeline at the very back of the property. Site one and two are located on the hillside looking west to Mount Cooroy and are best suited for couples. Our 1km private driveway is rough but if driven to conditions a 2wd has no issues.Most of the time space is abundant however if choosing to come on a long weekend, Easter or New Years expect it to be a lot busier than your average weekend with larger groups camping together, however still plenty of space between groups. You won’t ever have to trip over your neighbours tent ropes here. Eco friendly lakefront and near to lake front sites. Please don’t arrive expecting lakefront, our sites are all near to and Depending on group size not everyone will have lake frontage. We can never guarantee requests. We assign sites based on numbers and camping equipment. Furtherest camp spot is approximately 500m from amenities block, however porta loos are located in the remote site but it’s a walk or drive back to the showers. Flushing toilets and 2 hot showers available in main area. Please note: toilet cartridges are not to be emptied into our toilets. Take it home or dispose at dump point at Woodford ShowgroundsWe provide unpowered Bush camping, and we try to keep the camp sites as natural as possible, no flat pads. Access during daylight hours via 4WD ONLY with AT or MT off-road Tyres, RT Tyres are not permitted due to the steepness of the tracks. Off-road camper trailers are suitable for some campsites (max weight 1500kg and max length 5m restrictions apply). Caravans are not permitted due to the steep terrain. A Portaloo is located between the Ocean View 1 and 2 sites and a second Portaloo is located centrally and within walking distance to The Knoll, Upper Plateau, Valley View and Little Bunya campsites. There are no facilities at The Junction, and you MUST be self-contained. Riverdell is dog friendly, off leash if trained, and recommend tick treatment before arrival. The Lange Family Farmstay

This beautiful property is nestled in the foothills of Eerwah Vale just 4mins from Eumundi Town. Drive down a beautiful dirt road laced with Cattle and gumtrees to a quaint little bridge that crosses a creek and you arrive at your destination. The three sites offer a peaceful place to stay overlooking a small dam. Wake up to the sounds of wildlife and even a passing by wallaby or two! The property has designated fire pits per site. You must be fully self contained with either your van, kombi or caravan. We only expect from our guests that you leave no trace behind. When you arrive over the old iron bridge you will see a gate and signage on the left. We have three sites available to book. Site 1 looks west towards the family home but further enough away to feel private it overlooks the dam and has the most space for larger caravans or motor homes. Site 2 looks East and faces away from the family home. Site 3 Is nestled under the trees and overlooks the creek. All sites sit on an area of approx 1/2 Acre and can be rented seperately so you may have neighbours depending on bookings. For families with young children we have a dam and a creek so it is your responsibility to ensure that your children are supervised around these water sources. Please consider this when making your booking. Our policy is no noise after 9pm and we ask that sites be left in the same state as they were on arrival. The property is Located close to the heart of Eumundi you can take a nice stroll up the lane, enjoy a camp fire (fire pits provided for you), relax under the stars, enjoy the many cafes and restaurants with just a short 4min drive and of course the world famous Eumundi Markets is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays. We are also only 9mins to Cooroy and 20mins to Noosa. The beautiful town of Kenilworth is 20mins away. Grab a pie or doughnut from the bakery or perhaps some cheese from the Kenilworth Cheese Factory! 5 mins from there (4wd access required) take a picnic and dip in the crystal blue waters of Booloumba Creek! Welcome to our beautiful campground, nestled along a 450m stretch of the picturesque Mary River! Our campground offers a long stretch of flat land, making it an ideal destination for both large and small groups of campers. Positioned near the river's origin in the hinterland, the river is a habitat for the platypus, Mary River Cod, and other native animals, including the critically endangered White-throated Snapping Turtle. One of the highlights of our campground is its proximity to the river. You'll have easy access to one of two river access tracks, just a short stroll away. As you approach the river, you'll be greeted by the soothing shade provided by the surrounding trees. The river itself offers a diverse range of experiences, from calm and shallow areas perfect for kids to play safely, to exciting rapids and refreshing rock pools for adventurers of all ages, with water depth varying depending on seasonal conditions. Other Things to Note Access to the property involves crossing a dip and a causeway . This track is almost always accessible by 2WD. Contact us regarding crossing conditions before your stay during wet weather. Toilet facilities are not available and bush toilets are NOT permitted. Campers must bring their own camping toilets and take all waste when they go. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOUR CONTAINERS/TOILET FACILITIES PLKEASE MESSAGE US FOR CONFORMATION. A BUCKET IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AS IT CAN BE BLOWN OVER SPILLING CONTENTS. Campfires are permitted in designated fire pits, based on weather conditions. We have a beautiful deepwater lake that's perfect for swimming, canoeing. The property is traversed by a number of rain forested creeks and ravines which are perfect for adventure hiking and rock climbing. We can also take you horse riding around the farm for a couple of hours or to the local winery if you prefer longer ride. We cater for all levels of riding. We have many panoramic campsites for you to choose from. These are suited to any one with the swag, tent, camper, caravan or motorhome. You need to be self sufficient. For those liking the comforts of home we have a bunkhouse which sleeps 10 and has electricity, water, flush toilet, shower, stove, microwave and TV. Linen is not supplied. If you are driving 2wd, or 4wd towing a caravan or a big trailer and GPS takes you through Mountain View rd., do not go that way, go through Dayboro rd. For those without transport Dakabin train station is 25 min from the farm. Pick up and drop off to the station can be arranged. There is a wide variety of shops and restaurants less than 10 min away.

Shady or open spaces with a seasonal water hole on the property, 150mtrs from the Mary River, through the park or a 5 minute walk to town (600mtrs to the pub!). We have 5 camping sites, each suitable to any size caravans, campers, tents etc. Each site has the capacity to fit 3 caravans or equivalent and up to 10 guests. Fire pits at all sites. Please note we do not have amenities or drinking water and that you need to be self-sufficient with your own toilet/shower set up and bring everything you need with you and take out ALL waste. Please do not book if you do not have your own toilet. Please , nothing is to be burnt in the firepits other than firewood. No glass bottles or can's at all. Dogs must be on a leash at ALL times and must be cleaned up after. Family Group bookings welcome! Strictly no party groups. *All guests must be added to the booking request. Hunchy Hills 4WD Bush Camping

Formally a banana & pineapple plantation, Hunchy Hills is strictly 4WD only access property. There is a toilet and gas hot shower included. If you have a camper trailer it needs to be off-road/high clearance and you need to be experienced in towing off road. No caravans sorry, too steep and tight. Sites 1-3 are large level pads approx. 12M by 12M, each with their own fire pit and log seat. Site 4 is perched on the side of the hill and 6M by 6M in size. Suitable for vehicle based campers/swags/small tents with a sense of adventure and best with max 2 people. We have a backup spot too if access is too difficult. Pets (on leash) are welcome, please ensure you pick up after them. Kids (15 and under) are free and are not counted in the maximum number of guests. Firewood is sold at the check-in via an honesty box. $20 per bag (22kgs approx.) Travel down the gravel road for about half 900m and pop out through a tree tunnel to a secluded 2 acre cleared grass paddock where the toilet & sites 1-3 are situated. Site 4 is on top of a small hill separate to the main camping area. Site 5 is in its own cleared paddock, looking out to bush. Site 1 is in shade in winter and partial sun in summer. Site 2 is in shade in the morning and afternoon sun all seasons. Site 3 is in morning sun and shade in the afternoon all seasons. Site 4 is in morning sun and shade in the afternoon all seasons. A seasonal creek runs through the property. We are located 3 minutes from Montville and 7 min to Palmwoods. There's plenty to explore in the area with short drives to the many attractions including National Parks, Glass House Mountains, the famous Rick's Garage Diner, wineries, micro breweries and more. Go fishing at Baroon Pocket Dam and have a swim at Obi Obi Creek or Kondalilla Falls or Gardeners Falls. If you're after some saltwater it's a 30 min drive to most beaches on the coast.

Overview

At the northern tip of Moreton Bay, Sandstone Point is hemmed in by beaches, forests, and mountains. Cross the bridge to Bribie Island, where you can lounge on white-sand beaches, take a surf class, or zip along the beaches and bush trails of the Bribie Island National Park in a 4WD. Campers can pitch their tent or park their caravan right by the seafront in Sandstone Point, then enjoy a sundowner at the Sandstone Point Hotel with views across Pumicestone Passage. If you’re feeling adventurous, there are beachside campsites on Bribie Island that can only be reached by boat or kayak.

Where to go

Sunshine Coast

North of Sandstone Point, escape to the Beerburrum and Beerwah State Forests to hike bushland trails with views of the Glass House Mountains. Further north, the beaches of the Sunshine Coast are among Queensland’s most popular. Hit the beach at Caloundra, Noosa Heads, or Rainbow Beach, and don’t miss top attractions, including the Eumundi Markets and Australia Zoo.

Moreton Bay

Follow the coastal road south of Sandstone Point through Deception Bay and Beachmere for a scenic road trip. The beach resorts of Scarborough and Redcliffe are ideal for exploring the bay—go paddleboarding, take a whale-watching cruise around the islands, or follow the Clontarf-Redcliffe coastal walk. Ferries for Moreton Island leave from Brisbane, where you can spend the day beach hopping or snorkelling the Tangalooma Wrecks.

Around Lake Wivenhoe

Campers will find plenty of options around Lake Wivenhoe and neighbouring Lake Atkinson, just under two hours’ drive west of Sandstone Point. Swim, snorkel, and fish at the beaches, explore the lake by boat or kayak, or cycle the waterfront trails. Nearby, D'Aguilar National Park has a network of hiking trails and remote bush camping.

When to go

The sun shines year-round in Sandstone Point, and beachgoers can swim and surf right through autumn. Summer (December through January) is peak season, and the small town fills up with holidaymakers, so book campsites well in advance. Daytime temperatures average 20°C in winter, and off-season camping often means lower prices too. Visit between May and September for a chance to spot migrating humpback whales along the coast.

Know before you go

There is a supermarket and a few shops in Sandstone Point, but for camping gear or to stock up on supplies, head to Caboolture, a 20-minute drive away.

Fire bans are common in Queensland during summer and dry periods, so be sure to check local recommendations in advance.
If you plan to drive on the beaches and trails of Bribie Island, you’ll need a high-clearance 4WD.
