We have a selection of beautiful creek side locations where you can enjoy the clear, fresh running water and a selection of other sites only a short walk from the water. Conveniently located just a short drive off the Bruce Highway our sites are not designated, you choose your own on arrival

While staying, you will have the opportunity to take a walk into the past to view a private collection of Australiana, including a working stationary, engine display and vintage kitchen with wood stoves.
Access to the property is via a creek crossing so it is advisable to phone ahead if there has been recent rain or rainfall is forecast.
Toilets are located on the property but campers will need their own shower facilities and take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are permitted but must be contained at all times in a fire pits that we also have for your use, we also sell firewood at $15 for a milk crate.
Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting.
Each site fee is for 2 adults and kids stay at no cost.

Our amenity buildings have undertaken a fresh makeover which now provides state of the art washing machines and dryers with tap and go payment options - no need for coins. A vending machine for that late afternoon or evening snack, immaculately clean bathrooms and a camp kitchen with shared facilities for those campers who like to do their own thing.
Our Food & Beverage van is now open and offers a variety of food choices. Open daily from 12pm to 8.00pm (season dependent) we invite our guests and locals to come and enjoy our beautiful park setting.

It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals.
Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ.
Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night.
Swimming in the creek is not recommended.
So please check by internal message before confirming your booking that way we can confirm a spot while discussing your needs to ensure you have a clear view of your camping area.
Onsite we have our shared outhouse porta toilet which is positioned in the middle of both camping areas for everyone's convenience.

Our property on Magnetic Island in beautiful Picnic Bay is a stunning, flat, block of land, located just 400m from the beaches, restaurants and hotel. The block is private and secluded, with NO amenities, but just metres from everything!
The Golf course is located right behind us and a bus stop is within 50m walk, that will take you all around the island.
There are several glorious camp spots shaded by mature paperbark trees, overlooking Butler's Creek, which often runs during the wet season.
The block is large and flat, perfectly suitable for campervans, tents, caravans and large motorhomes.
There is a water available onsite for campers' use. You are able to fill your tank but are asked not to 'connect up', as it is for the use of ALL guests.
To stay with us, you MUST be FULLY SELF-CONTAINED with your own toilet/shower facilities and power.
Please leave no waste on the property and NO trace of your stay.
The property is located in a wildlife corridor and we have koalas, kookaburras, curlews, wallabies and other animal residents nearby.
Your dog is welcome onsite but must be on a leash at all times so as not to disturb guests or upset our wildlife. Please pick up it's waste at all times.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your dog disrupts other guests or neighbours by barking, or is threatening in anyway, you will be asked to leave the property without refund.
Magnetic Island is located 8km offshore from Townsville and is accessed via a passenger ferry that operates every hour from the city and a vehicle barge that operates several times a day. Book via the 'Sealink' website.
"Maggie" as the island is affectionately known, has a permanent population of about 3000 people. There are a two supermarkets, a medical centre, several resorts, dozens of restaurants and many other amenities to cater for residents and tourists.
There are spectacular beaches, bush walks, koala spotting, boat tours, reef dive operators, art galleries, homeware shops, restaurants, coffee shops, a brewery, pubs and a bus stop nearby.
Whilst here, be sure to feed the wild rock wallabies in Arcadia, go to the Toad Races at Arcadia Hotel, enjoy the Forts Walk to learn about the region's history, and take a boat tour on Aquascene cruises.

Experience the quiet serenity of Midge Point. Midge Point is situated in Repulse Bay which is at the southern end of the Whitsunday Passage. There is 1 island group within Repulse Bay - the Repulse Islands & 2 other islands - Midge Island & Gould Island plus a multitude of estuary creeks and rivers. All are accessible by tinny from Midge Point.
Our camp/caravan site is level with shaded areas and water available. It is a 2-minute walk to the water. Pets are welcome.
There is plenty of firewood and a brazier on site for evening campfires and cooking. Midge Point has a small shopping centre, post office and tavern bistro.
Beautiful beaches with some of the best fishing and crabbing in the region. Keen anglers now have the availability of the newly constructed boat ramp, off Jimmy Rocks Road. All are only 5 minutes down the road.
Airlie Beach is only 45 minutes away, with access to the islands and reef. The airport is only 20 minutes away and a further 5 minutes to Proserpine.

Our Food & Beverage van is now open and offers a variety of food choices. Open daily from 12pm to 8.00pm (season dependent) we invite our guests and locals to come and enjoy our beautiful park setting.

It's truly a very private and relaxing spot to chill out and enjoy camping for a few days or whatever suits your needs while passing the area. Plenty of fantastic swimming holes nearby including Josephine falls and Babinda boulders very popular spots for tourist and the locals.
Site 1 right down on the creek large grass flat space big enough for two families to set up camp. The creek runs around the outside so there are a number of viewing points to see the wildlife mentioned above. A set of solar lights hang over the firepit area allowing for more light while cooking on our wonderful swinging hotplate BBQ.
Site 2 Our newer spot work in progress not so ideal for camper trailers. your situated under our tree line away from the main creek. A smaller paver firepit, plenty fine for sitting around an open fire while watching the stars at night.
Swimming in the creek is not recommended.

Our property on Magnetic Island in beautiful Picnic Bay is a stunning, flat, block of land, located just 400m from the beaches, restaurants and hotel. The block is private and secluded, with NO amenities, but just metres from everything!
The Golf course is located right behind us and a bus stop is within 50m walk, that will take you all around the island.
There are several glorious camp spots shaded by mature paperbark trees, overlooking Butler's Creek, which often runs during the wet season.
The block is large and flat, perfectly suitable for campervans, tents, caravans and large motorhomes.
There is a water available onsite for campers' use. You are able to fill your tank but are asked not to 'connect up', as it is for the use of ALL guests.
To stay with us, you MUST be FULLY SELF-CONTAINED with your own toilet/shower facilities and power.
Please leave no waste on the property and NO trace of your stay.
The property is located in a wildlife corridor and we have koalas, kookaburras, curlews, wallabies and other animal residents nearby.
Your dog is welcome onsite but must be on a leash at all times so as not to disturb guests or upset our wildlife. Please pick up it's waste at all times.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your dog disrupts other guests or neighbours by barking, or is threatening in anyway, you will be asked to leave the property without refund.
Magnetic Island is located 8km offshore from Townsville and is accessed via a passenger ferry that operates every hour from the city and a vehicle barge that operates several times a day. Book via the 'Sealink' website.
"Maggie" as the island is affectionately known, has a permanent population of about 3000 people. There are a two supermarkets, a medical centre, several resorts, dozens of restaurants and many other amenities to cater for residents and tourists.

Experience the quiet serenity of Midge Point. Midge Point is situated in Repulse Bay which is at the southern end of the Whitsunday Passage. There is 1 island group within Repulse Bay - the Repulse Islands & 2 other islands - Midge Island & Gould Island plus a multitude of estuary creeks and rivers. All are accessible by tinny from Midge Point.
Our camp/caravan site is level with shaded areas and water available. It is a 2-minute walk to the water. Pets are welcome.
There is plenty of firewood and a brazier on site for evening campfires and cooking. Midge Point has a small shopping centre, post office and tavern bistro.
Beautiful beaches with some of the best fishing and crabbing in the region. Keen anglers now have the availability of the newly constructed boat ramp, off Jimmy Rocks Road. All are only 5 minutes down the road.
Airlie Beach is only 45 minutes away, with access to the islands and reef. The airport is only 20 minutes away and a further 5 minutes to Proserpine.

Magical little retreat. A warm welcoming by the host encouraging us to explore this gorgeous property. We will be back with our children for another swim in the creek! The facilities are brilliant too, the bathroom looks like it belongs in a show home, so fresh, new and clean. We are very thankful for our stay and would encourage others to visit.

Hartleys Creek Retreat pleasantly surprised us with beautiful creek-side, large and well maintained sites. Dean greeted us apon arrival providing guidance and site information as well as hints & tips for the immediate area. The amenities are modern, clean and easily accessible from all sites. Hartleys Creek Retreat is well located between Port Douglas and Cairns and an easy drive to must see attractions in the area. Such a beautiful spot! Walking distance to Horse Shoe Bay - plenty of restaurants to choose from! Walking distance to The Forts walk- we saw lots of Koalas in the trees. We walked to Arcadia which was a beautiful walk, but there are bus stops just up and down the road! Tee & Stevie were amazing hosts- giving us great recommendations on what to do on the island & restaurants! Site was well set up - nice & level as we were in a roof top tent! Bush shower was great and heaps of wildlife! We will definitely return in the dry season!

This is a small, privately-owned caravan site. We have young children, and it had everything we needed for a one-night stopover after a long drive. There’s a nice coffee shop on-site with a view of the beach. The reception staff were very helpful in assisting us with a late check-in.

Creek is beautiful & filled very quick with rain

We had a wonderful stay here. Dean is an incredibly kind and welcoming host—he greeted us at the gate, showed us around the campground, and shared lots of helpful local advice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. The campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and being able to take a refreshing dip in the creek was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-run camping experience.

What a gorgeous, well located little park. Great hosts with an awesome coffee shop. Directly across the road from the best dog beach I've seen. Nice, clean facilities, lovely magnesium swimming pool and well fit out camp kitchen. Nothing bad to say about it, highly recommend.

3 nights at Mena Creek River Retreat Camp
We had a fantastic stay despite the rainy weather. Rowan moved us to a different spot in case the rain and road got worse, it was very thoughtful. We had a secluded spot just for us, above the creek, it was a very short walk to a nice swim spot with plenty of shade. We will definitely be back and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in a beautiful place near Innisfail

I really enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be back! On arrival both my dog and I were taken around on a buggy for a little tour to show us the grounds and choose our spot.
The creek was beautiful, with both shallow areas and deeper areas.
The property is large enough that you can find your own private space if you prefer, however I enjoyed making friends with the other campers.
I was shocked at how amazingly clean and decorated the bathroom was, with attention to every detail.
And the added bonus of the antiques was absolutely fantastic, I found it very interesting to explore and take some cool photos.
