Situated just off the Burnett Highway between Goomeri and Ban Ban Springs, the Boonara Creek is the perfect spot to pull up and unwind for a day or a couple to enjoy the beauty of nature. Enjoy the creek view by day and then watch the sun set to a sky full of stars by night. Don’t forget to bring some marshmallows to toast on your campfire! Australia is full of amazing landscapes which are a treasure to enjoy. We have an abundance of bird life, every so often spot a turtle and if your lucky we recently saw a platypus in the creek. The creek has ample room for fishing, swimming and even kayaking (season dependant). Take a walk along the creek and appreciate being outdoors. We have many attractions within our area. Coming up on the last Sunday of May is the Goomeri Pumpkin Festival, it is always a great weekend for all. There are many wineries in the area to wine & dine, Boat Mountain has some great bushwalks & lookouts and the Kilkivan to Kingaroy Rail Trail is great for those who enjoy a bike ride. Recently opened in Murgon is the fossil museum & fine art gallery, 55 Million Years Ago. On the website a quote states, “In the late 1980’s, fossils found near Boat Mountain just outside Murgon in Southern Queensland rocked the palaeontology world. 15 new fossil species discovered here were found to be 55 million years old, predating any other Eocene period fossils found in Australia by 20 million years.” Suited to all, make a day of it and visit 55 Million Years Ago in the morning, enjoy lunch at a local winery before heading to Boat Mountain to see where they found the fossils and enjoy the sunset. We are a busy working property and horse training facility. Our business consists of backgrounding cattle, growing and irrigating of cattle feed and lucerne, as well as making hay. I had a fabulous stay next to the billabong and creek with abundant birds and wildlife in a secluded, grassy location next to the water so my self and my dog could cool off in the heat. Tracey was an extremely friendly and helpful host who made me feel very welcome. I saw a huge lungfish, goannas and other lizards, snakes on the other side of the creek, Rakali (native water rats), a huge list of birds, including a pair of resident azure kingfishers and red backed fairy wrens. I am really looking forward to my next visit!

Range Station was a little gem - very relaxing with amazing views all around. We had the place to ourselves, but there was plenty of room to spread out. It was dry with a total fire ban when we were there, but at other times it would be a sea of green, rolling hills with fire pits, a port-a-loo and a delightful nursery / garden to explore. It’s off the beaten track so it feels like being a million miles away - perfect!

Absolutely magic spot on a beautiful part of the Burnett River. Amazing sunrise in one direction and spectacular sunset in the other. This section of river is so perfect for kayaking. The river is teaming with lung fish, birdlife, fish and we even saw platypus right at our campsite. The waterfalls downstream were a lovely surprise. Our campsite was absolute river front and bliss. We awoke to birdsong in the mornings and the nights were peaceful. 10/10

We loved the tranquility and peaceful atmosphere at this camp! Stunning sunsets and so much wildlife and farm animals to be seen cruising around in the farmlands. The site is fully fenced so is perfect for dogs as well. Would recommend!

Perfect spot to camp if you’re visiting Mt Walsh! Close to town and a short drive to the National Park. Uninterrupted view of the mountain and countryside. Nathan and Byrdie are both lovely and welcoming. 10/10

We camped one night by the creek which was our first time using Hipcamps. It was a lovely peaceful site. Our contact with Tracey & directions made the experience easy. We chose to be close to the creek so four wheel drive was necessary to exit the site. Would stay again & recommend to others

Lovely flat grassy area. Bonus for us was it was fully fenced so the dog could be off leash. Just a Portaloo but that was fine. Easy to find and gravel road no problem. Ange very friendly and lovely to chat to. Well worth a visit.

Large open spaces for our two Border Collies to run and also swim in the creek. Plenty of fire wood to collect. Quiet and private camping. Had long walks to other sites and found the Deluxe site was the best. Long strolls around the site and saw amenities that were set up for a musical festival earlier in the year. Great for a break from the hassle of city life. Limited phone reception.
