River Run offers: farm animals, swimming, excellent fresh water Fishing (Bass, Barra, yellow belly, prawn and silver perch), boat ramp, bike track and kayaking on the river is spectacular.
River run has an amazing variety of bird life due to the large body of fresh water and pristine habitat creating a great environment for spotting native animals including wallabies, echidna and platypus, which have been sighted at the boat ramp.
We are pet friendly too as long as your animals remain on a leash and are under full supervision at all times.

Rosgrow Farm, 15 minutes off the Bruce Highway, offers secluded campsites set on a large tidal creek. There are plenty of trees and shelter. The creek offers fishing, crabbing, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boating and swimming.
Fire pits and picnic areas make the sites perfect for evening relaxation with bird life and jumping fish, talking about the day's fishing or eating the day's crab catch.
Limited firewood is sometimes available. It can be bought at a reasonable price about 9km along the road towards Burrum Heads..
Campers must be self-contained with their own toilet and shower and need to remove their rubbish. Particularly suitable for RVs and caravans with own toilet.
Well suited for overnight travelers passing between Maryborough and Bundaberg, or others needing a few days rest, fishing or water activities.
Sandflies are a problem in this region anywhere near water, in the mornings until about 9am and in the evenings after about 3:30pm, so bring plenty of repellent and apply early and often.
Sites are 30-40 metres apart with a maximum of 8 vehicles and their occupants in the whole property. No overcrowding!
Looking for a special breakfast or brunch? Try Goody’s on the Beach, a 3-minute drive away at Toogoom for great waterside dining or Arkarra Gardens, 10 minutes away for a tropical rainforest dining experience.

You must have your own toilet to stay here and be able to remove all grey water. Our regional council does not allow us to host swag/tent campers. Tents and swags may be permitted if accompanied by an RV or caravan, please ask us first. Virtue Farm is a council approved self-contained recreational vehicle ground.
Arrival after dark is by prior arrangement only as we have no lighting on the farm.
We are 10 minutes from Hervey Bay and 10 minutes from the K'Gari (Fraser Island) barge that leaves from River Heads. and only 10 minutes drive to Hervey Bay's beautiful beaches
We are building a productive, diverse permaculture farm incorporating a market garden, food forest and small volume egg production. From your campsite, on our farm block, you will have sensational views to K'Gari (Fraser Island) whilst being surrounded by 27 acres of bushland that is reserved for nature and registered with Land for Wildlife. Expect to see amazing colours at sunrise and sunset.
Enjoy the many birds and animals that you will see as you spend time exploring our bush and farm. There's the added bonus of a range of fresh, organically grown produce to be harvested daily at a small extra cost. You will love the peace and quiet of our block and the huge array of wildlife that choose to call our place home.
To preserve this tranquility, pets and rowdy groups are not suited to this camp site. You are welcome to camp in family and friendship groups. There's nothing here but peace and quiet, spacious sites. The banks of the river are quite high and there is limited access into the water.
There are 2 boat ramps about 7 or 8 klms from the property.
Arrive between midday and 2pm if possible so you can set up your camp. Don't forget to bring your insect repellent as you are in the bush and beside the river.
We have also just built a shelter shed/camp kitchen have 1000 litre water pods.
No rubbish bins at the camp so bring everything you need & remove everything you bring.

You will always tell how your stay is going to be with interactions with the hosts. John & Heidi are 2 of the nicest people you would meet and go out of their way to ensure your stay is perfect.
Great space, fantastic views and surrounded by an abundance of wildlife.
Had a bonfire night with pulled pork rolls, drinks with the hosts everyone of us treated like family. Farm eggs, veggies and fruit available, we will be back to ensure we will continue support them, our new go to spot near Hervey Bay.

What an absolute gem of a camping spot.
We went with our 6.5 year old in the middle of a heat wave and sitting in the Mary River was a wonderful way to refresh. All the sites are very spacious with room for cricket and soccer games.
The showers are hot with great water pressure and the kitchen is well equipt with lots of room.
We'll definitely be back.

We loved our time here, an amazing place to relax and unwind. Our dog loved the water, which made the stay even more special. We would definitely love to come back!

We had the BEST time at River Run Camping! The host was incredibly welcoming and made everything so easy from the moment we arrived. It’s super kid-friendly with great amenities - you can tell a lot of thought has gone into making the place fun and comfortable for families.
We packed so much into our stay: torch light scavenger hunts, animal bingo, swimming in the river, and endless trips down the slip and slide! Our daughter didn’t want to leave, and honestly, neither did we!
If you’re looking for a summer camping spot full of adventure, laughs, and memories - this is the place! Highly recommend! 🌞⛺️🌿

It was a great spot tucked away with plenty of room! We enjoyed ourselves so much that we wanted to stay a extra night, the whole site was booked out but she found us a nice little spot for a extra night. Our friends daughters had a blast with patting the friendly horses and donkey's! I would definitely recommend

Absolutely loved our stay with our friends and my kids! They had fun activities planned each day, the farm animals were amazing and super friendly and Michelle was amazing at accommodating our request to stay an extra night as we were enjoying our time so much! Bathrooms were always clean which was lovely and the camp kitchen was great! My kids loved the slip and slide and playground so much. Will definitely be returning!

We spent a couple of nights at the park and really enjoyed it, it’s a small park with great amenities.
It is a quiet park and community if you want to relax but is only a short drive from everywhere in the area if you like sight seeing

Our kids loved being around all the animals, the play ground, swimming in the river, the slip and slide and just being able to run around! Animal bingo in the camp kitchen was a hit. Where to go
Central Station
Set inland, 20 minutes west of Eurong Beach Resort, and surrounded by rainforest, campers staying in Central Station can have a great walk along the banks of the freshwater Wanggoolba Creek and through the lush rainforest. Flora and fauna you may come across include the rare king fern Angiopteris evecta, which has the largest fern fronds in the world, as well as turtles and eels, and you’ll also be within easy access of Lake McKenzie, a popular swimming spot. The camping area, typically one of the island’s busiest, is surrounded by dingo-deterrent fence.
Waddy Point
On the island’s northeast coast, Waddy Point offers both beachfront (unfenced) and inland (fenced) camping areas with coin-operated hot showers and picnic tables, as well as capacity for camper trailers. Making Waddy Point your base puts you within easy access of some of the island’s top attractions, including the coastal headland of Indian Head (a good spot for watching dolphins and whales) and the rock pools filled with bubbling water known as the Champagne Pools. You’ll also find plenty of opportunities for fishing, kayaking, and hiking.
Dundubara
Dundubara is located in the middle of the 75-Mile Beach scenic drive on the east coast, halfway between Indian Head and the rusting S.S. Maheno shipwreck, which ran aground in 1935. You’re also within easy reach of Eli Creek, a popular freshwater swimming spot with a long boardwalk. Camping is available in a large fenced-in area behind great sand dunes and it's one of the few camping sites on the island that allows campfires.
Lake Boomanjin
Along the Southern Lakes scenic drive, the distinctly red-hued Lake Boomanjin offers a peaceful setting and opportunities for swimming and kayaking. The secluded lake is typically far less visited than Lake McKenzie, the island’s other famed perched lake. You can camp right by the lake at the fenced-in camping area with picnic tables and surrounded by forest: note that it is walk-in camping only, so there's no vehicle access to the tent sites.
