We have close access to some beautiful nearby creeks and walking trails. With Four Mile beach, Spring Creek Falls, Mowbray Falls all at your door step there is endless adventures to be had.
The property is right near the Mowbray National Park and the Bump Track which is a popular and memorable mountain-biking experience for those who love to ride. This 6km trail climbs from sea level to almost 400m within just a couple of kilometres, allowing riders to experience one of the biggest downhill thrills in the region.
You might also like to explore further and do a day trip up to the Daintree. Your friendly host is always happy to share local knowledge so you can get the best out of your trip.

Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls.
The track is not suitable for towing caravans. We are 38klms from Daintree Village on the CREB Track (also known as Upper Daintree Rd) and it will take about 2.5hrs to drive as the road is unsealed, steep in sections and narrow. Be aware of weather conditions before travelling on this road as minimal rainfall can make the track slippery.
An alternative route to Yindilli Camping ground is from the northern end of the track from Bloomfield via the China Camp Rd or the Zig Zag Track - both meet up with the CREB Track. We are 27klms from Bloomfield or 1 hour to drive, this section is graded regularly and easy to traverse in the dry season.The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing.
Facilities include: septic toilets, showers, dry firewood (on request) and spacious sites
Children and pet friendly.
Guests are advised to only light fires in designated areas and these must be fully extinguished before departure.

Bring your tent, car, caravan or motor home...... there is plenty of room! The Meadow is located in a sleepy little rural area at the end of a road, so there is no through traffic and quite private.
There is an abundance of wild life wandering through from the rainforest to the neighboring cattle property including a huge range of birds, numerous wallaby's, and the occasional cassowary.
I do have a resident cow on the property. Stewie is extremely friendly and will come to the fence for a pat and will love you even more if you feed him a slice of bread or a carrot. He has no spacial awareness though, so please don’t enter his paddock….. it is pretty scary having a 600kg “puppy” with very big horns bounding toward you wanting to play!
The water is tank/bore which is fine for drinking and I am happy for you to fill your water tanks during your stay but I do ask that you use it sparingly…….. no washing of vehicles or vans please 🙏
With only 1 site, you will absolutely not be crowded in. There are no toilet or shower facilities available so you will need to be fully self contained.
This is the perfect base to explore all that the Daintree, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas have on offer.
Julatten Hotel is a great spot for a cold drink and a lovely meal, with live music on the weekends. 9 Mile Store is 2km from your site and has fuel, some groceries items and takeaway food if you don’t feel like cooking. Mossman is only 18km away for most other supplies and services.

Wetherby Road is a dirt road but is fine for 2WD vehicles. We recommend coming off highway at Julatten State Primary School (Mcleans Bridge rd then left onto Wetherby Road) to stay on bitumen longer.

We absolutely loved our stay at Mowbray Valley! Phil went above and beyond and truly exceeded our expectations — he couldn’t have been friendlier or more welcoming. He was always happy to answer our questions and even took the time to show us around some local spots, which we really enjoyed and appreciated. As our first stop on our journey down the east coast, Mowbray Valley set the bar incredibly high for the rest of our trip, and that was all thanks to Phil for taking the time to show us around. Hartleys Creek Retreat pleasantly surprised us with beautiful creek-side, large and well maintained sites. Dean greeted us apon arrival providing guidance and site information as well as hints & tips for the immediate area. The amenities are modern, clean and easily accessible from all sites. Hartleys Creek Retreat is well located between Port Douglas and Cairns and an easy drive to must see attractions in the area. Dean & family go WAY beyond to help make sure everyone is comfortable.
Creek is beautiful & filled very quick with rain
Walk to the falls was great.
Amenities area are immaculately kept & a credit to how well the family run it

We had a wonderful stay here. Dean is an incredibly kind and welcoming host—he greeted us at the gate, showed us around the campground, and shared lots of helpful local advice. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing, and the bathrooms were spotless and well maintained. The campground has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and being able to take a refreshing dip in the creek was a real highlight. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-run camping experience.

Great property, with amazing views from the spot we camped at, being Valley views. Enjoyed the scenic walk to the waterfall and enjoyed a refreshing swim.
Definitely would stay again and loved how the Valley view camp spot, had a covered area as weren't sure if a storm would come that night and only brought the swag. Water and toilet with amazing view.

We loved our stay here. So peaceful and such a large site just to ourselves, and didn’t have to worry about the kids brothering others. The steep driveway was a bit daunting, but managed fine with AWD. Loved having the big gazebo to set up under and spread out. Had a beautiful night sky view once the clouds cleared.

I cannot emphasise enough how amazing this camping experience was for me! I had the whole top of the hill to myself. I was looking for a private retreat and I found it. No internet and no people, unless I went looking for them. The creek was there for a cooling dip and the waterfall at the end of a short hike through the rainforest was so beautiful. Watching the stars at night by my campfire was truly bliss for me. Liana, thank you for opening up your gorgeous home on Hipcamp. I will definitely return.

Stayed at Valley views with a toddler and 2 dogs, plenty of space to run around. Could go the whole stay without seeing other campers (if that's what you prefer). End of October so temperatures were creeping up as expected, but the large gazebo supplied gave shade aswell as surrounding trees and there was nice breeze at the top of the hill. Very well kept property and the signage was very helpful! Refreshing little creek to swim in, excellent spot!

What a special little gem of a campsite .. our site had tap water and power , and plenty of room for our ute and camper trailer setup . Peaceful river with sandy bank is only 50 m down some steps. Kayaks, canoes and sun lounge are provided too . Judy and Don are great hosts and very welcoming onto their picturesque property ... not our first time here and we will be back again and again. VERY hard to beat !
