Welcome to 'Bares Hideaway', a 43 acre property nestled away from prying eyes in a secluded valley along the Liverpool Ranges in Grandchester. We are a short 1 hr drive from Brisbane and Toowoomba surrounded by acres of bushland. We are a 10 minute drive from Rosewood and Laidley where you will find cafes, supermarkets, fuel and a variety of other things to enjoy. Our lovely campground will accommodate swags, tents, campers, caravans and motorhomes. We provide an extensive camping ground which ensures that you will have a large amount of space to set up comfortably. Flushing toilets and hot showers are provided. We offer you the choice of a standard enclosed private shower or the fun of open air showers. We also have ice for sale. We are happy for you to come and camp on your own or book the entire place if you have an event, large groups are welcome. There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. Things to do and see: The Grandchester hotel is a short 10min walk away and offers cold drinks, great meals and friendly country hospitality. Spicers Hidden Vale is approximately 6km away and perfect for bike riders. Rosewood train museum showcases steam locomotives and Grandchester scale model rail rides run once a month. All sites are unpowered. Generators are welcome between 7am and 9pm. PRICE. $25 per night Max 2 people. $10 per night for any extra people on that site. $5 for kids 5 years to 12 years. Welcome to Aloomba Lavender Farm. We offer bush camping with powered and unpowered sites. This means you will not be placed very close to other vans unless you are friends and choose to be together. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

These best describe this 754 hectare (1864 acres) property. Stonepine Ridge is 'remote' - your camp sites are away from any dwellings - but you are still close enough to country towns across borders. There is plenty of space for social distancing. Most camp sites are 50 or more metres apart. The terrain is mostly treed with some cleared, pastured country. On the border with the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, Stonepine Ridge is close to the historic areas of Willsons Downfall and Amosfield in New South Wales. Home to many rivers that traverse the property from top to bottom, the Boonoo Boonoo and Bookookookarara rivers and Undercliffe and Boonoo Boono Falls are close by and are popular sites to spend a few hours walking/hiking and immersing yourself in the ambient countryside. The Boonoo Boonoo and Bald rock National Parks are also within this area. The beautiful New England town of Tenterfield is about 20 minutes drive from the falls and offers visitors many shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to stop en route to visit the World War 2 tank traps - (Australia's Maginot Line) and Thunderbolt's hideout. A short drive across the border into Queensland will give you access to the Girraween National Park and a host of wineries, coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. This camping property is large and you will find no better place that allows for gentle as well as more advanced walking, hiking and mountain biking. The altitude on the property varies from 900m at the top down to 50m to the bottom. The temperature is variable with mostly cool nights, which makes for restful sleep and a nice fire to add to the ambience.

We have a several cattle and horses, and regularly kangaroo, hare, and eagles frequent the farm. All overseen and kept in order by the ever present "Ziggy" and "Harvey" our lovely English Pointers. I really enjoyed pitching a swag at Ruby’s Rest. So much room, no noise, the horses roaming around, plenty of firewood everywhere and the amenities provided all you would need (hot showers, flushing toilet and a little sink with running (tank) water). Perfectly located for Bald Rock NP (30 minutes drive) and only 10 minutes to get into Stanthorpe. It’s been very cool for mid summer, but very enjoyable for tent/swag camping. Depending on where you place yourself, you may need the car to get to the amenities or have a rather long walk. I will be back to explore more of Girraween NP.

Campgrounds are peaceful, well maintained, not over crowded, and have good options to choose more private/secluded areas or larger/communal open spaces. Amenties are well maintained and convenient to access. Motion sensor lighting along the pathways at night was great. Tracey and Paul are welcoming hosts who are present and accessible, but not invasive. We appreciated the flexible check-in/out times and ability to choose our own campsite.

We may have been the only campers Stonepine Ridge over Christmas. It was great camping in the natural forest within the clouds. Directions to site and on site were sufficient to easily locate the camp site .

I originally had a booking at another campsite, but due to the rain, I made a last-minute same-day booking and came here instead. Since I was camping with my dog, I looked for a place that wasn’t too far away, and it only took about an hour to arrive — the accessibility was excellent. Maybe because it had rained earlier in the day, I had the campsite entirely to myself and could enjoy a completely private experience. The campsite managers were incredibly kind, explaining everything thoroughly and helping me whenever I needed it. There was even a kitchen, which I didn’t expect at all, making it very convenient to wash dishes right away. The bathrooms were extremely clean, and the showers had strong water pressure with plenty of very hot water — it was honestly amazing. Trash bins were placed throughout the campsite, which made it easy to keep everything clean and tidy. There wasn’t just one toilet or shower; even if other groups had been there, I don’t think it would have felt crowded at all. I initially thought camping alone might feel scary, but knowing that a staff member was sleeping nearby in a trailer made me feel very safe and reassured. There are so many good things about this place that I can’t even mention them all. This campsite gave me such a wonderful first camping experience, and it’s a place I’ll definitely return to with my friends!

Exceptional place to visit and stay! I tried the Lavender scone’s, the Lavendar ice cream the locally made ginger beer and slept the night under the milky way and Lavendar fields. Heaven on earth! None of this amazing experience is possible without the passion and warm hospitality I received from their host, Sue. Sue is a gem, full of kindness and warmth and great knowledge. I just loved this nights stay!

From the moment we arrived, Sue made us feel incredibly welcome and took the time to introduce us to the property, including a visit through the beautiful lavender shop. After setting up camp, we later met Deb (2.0), who was hand-cultivating the lavender. What a wonderful experience—learning about the flowers, how they’re used, and hearing Deb share her extensive knowledge of the farm. An amazing spot with outstanding facilities, made even more special by the genuinely lovely people. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us.

I loved camping at Bares, the camping sites were absolutely clean and tidy. Bathroom always well maintained as the showers. Paul, Tracey and Robert are very friendly and helpful. Roberts helped my kids and I packing up after or gazebo was damaged. Robert took the time to teach us some nots. Lovely place with lovely people. Feeding the animals was a nice experience.

We thoughly enjoyed our time at Bares Hideaway. Camp sites are grassy and level. Facilities were more than adequate. Plenty of room to spread out a little. Close to Granchester Hotel, awesome meals and not too far from Mulgowie when the markets are running. The markets are well worth a visit. Highly recommend staying here for a weekend or a few weeks.
