Have a Fenced off Kids Playground. Buggys (allowed any weekend at an extra fee). Quads and dirt bikes also allowed PLEASE NOTE; They are an extra fee and only allowed on specific weekends. Our own private residence is a separate apartment upstairs, there are no shared walls or internal stairs and you will have your own private entrance, however as it is a large, old wooden house you may at times hear us moving about upstairs, naturally we try to be as quiet as possible when we have guests visiting. We will leave you entirely to yourselves but if you do need any help or information or even a little guided walking tour of the locality we are very happy to accommodate you. Our sauna deck is a shared area which guests are welcome to use, heating the sauna takes an hour or two, so just let us know and we will get it all ready for you with fresh towels, scented oils and branches of freshly cut lavender or wormwood to create a beautiful ambience.

Colo River is 30 mins away, a clear waterhole is 10 min drive (4wd only- hosts can transport if available), the mouth of a hiking trail to the National Park is on the property, the main township of Bilpin is close by with the baker, fruit and veggie picking, Mountain Bells Cafe (host recommendation), apple pies galore and the restaurant , the markets are on Saturday morning 10-12 noon at the local hall and there is a free meditation group 9am Sunday at the monastery. With so much to do you will need more than one night or plan a return visit to the amazing Mountain Lagoon Hideaway at Bilpin! We are 1.5 hrs from Sydney. On arrival you will feel the atmosphere of this wilderness area. Colo River Hut is located adjacent to the Colo River. A beautiful, unspoiled location on a pristine river. With it's own private beach and over 400 metres of riverfront. We are on the opposite side of river from the the Wollemi National Park. The hut sits (alone) within the eastern (10 acre paddock) of our property. There are no walls and so you have permanent views across the paddock to large sandstone cliffs and we are less than 30 metres from the riverbank. The Hut has a rustic tin roof, a large bench area with power points and task lighting. Tents or swags can be set up within the Colo River Hut. Or, if you wish, you can set up your tent or camper or small caravan adjacent to the Hut. There is plenty of room as there is a maximum of 8 guests (and 3 vehicles) with each booking. The Hut has a raised hardwood timber floor and enclosed composting toilet and hot/cold shower facilities. It also has ceiling fans for airflow and insect control. We provide a gorgeous shaded area under a large tree with valley views, with a large bbq table and chairs and fire pit (with grill) for your enjoyment. Firewood is also provided. Suitable for swimming, canoes, bikes, Bass fishing, and hiking, the Colo River Hut can be as active or relaxing as you wish. The Colo River Valley remains largely undiscovered, and is on the edge of the Wollemi wilderness. The Colo is fed by the Wolgan and Capertee Rivers. It has a long history and retains much of its' early unspoiled charm.

Weekend Trip to Jila Camp Grounds

Our family with young kids and small dogs loved our time there. The tents were nice and spacious, and we liked the provided linen. The toilets were modern and clean, and we enjoyed the large shared firepit in the middle. The highlight was spending the hot days down at the river - it had a lovely atmosphere and was shallow enough for the kids and dogs to wade through. It is a bit tricky to walk up and down the embankment, especially if you're carrying a toddler or baby. The road into the campground is a little rough for a sedan or typical car, but no issue for a SUV. Great option for a first-time family camping trip - we will be back!

Weekend Trip to Colo River Hut

We lovedthe peace and and quiet. The views from the hut while washing up were nice. The hut was a great social space. The kids loved the river for kayaking and paddle boarding. The firepit was well stocked, though as there was fire ban we saddly did not try it out. The cows and Jeffrey the Emu were a nice relaxing find. Richard the owner was quick at communication and a nice polite man full of stories about the past of that area. Thank you for a nice time and we will be back. Christine

It was so nice that the inside of the tent was spacious and clean, and the bathroom shower was also very clean for use as an outdoor bathroom and shower. We had a wonderful stay at Jilla Flash Camp and highly recommend it. The tents were comfortable and clean, and although we initially thought there might be mould, Bill kindly reassured us they were just gumtree stains. We had originally booked two tents due to capacity, but Phil went out of his way to adjust our booking so the kids could stay together, which we really appreciated. The camp kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed, and the beds were cozy and restful. Weekend Trip to Jila Camp Grounds

This was a great set up for our young family with new, clean shower and bathroom facilities. I imagine if it's fully booked the kitchen facilities would be stretched. And while the shower was lovely and hot, the kitchen water wasn't. I'd love to come back and hang out by the amazing fire pit, but with just the three of us it seemed a little overkill. The setting was grassy with plenty of shady trees. My young sons and I had a great time exploring the riverside, balancing on huge fallen trees and losing shoes in the quicksand. And the mini soccer field and slackline / climbing area were a bonus. Description and directions were spot on, and the host is kindly facilitating returning something we left behind. I'd recommend a visit for sure.

Weekend Trip to Webbs Creek Pristine Wilderness

We had a wonderful time staying in the chalet. The Hip Camp description is spot on, and the chalet itself is functional, but contains exactly what you need. Comfortable beds (single and bunks) with clean bedding and towels. Functional kitchen that facilitates cooking for large groups (11ppl in our case). A fun adventure arriving via ferry and suspension bridge, do make sure you follow the well written directions exactly, to avoid getting lost! Expansive grounds, that can clearly host a lot more people if you also take the camping area. There is lots of exploring to be done, bush walks, hills and a river. I’d really recommend if you’re after an easy group or family adventure, with close access to Sydney. Thank you Lynda, we’ll come again!

3 nights at Colo River Hut

We had an amazing stay at Colo River Hut! Highly recommend. The hut is an amazing add on to any camping adventure - hot shower, clean toilet and lots of space for everyone to spread out. The tables and comfy chairs near the fire pit / grill make everything very comfortable. The kids loved the bushwalks and sandy river bank to build bridges and hideaways. Even in the middle of winter, this place was a gem. The power was essential for us all keeping warm overnight! It was lovely having the privacy and serenity just for our group. All in all, a wonderful spot and super friendly host, would recommend to all!

Thank you Mat and Jenna for having us !! When we arrived Mat was so welcoming and showed us where everything was, the property is so big and beautiful plenty of space for everyone to pick there camping spot. The bathrooms and showers were well maintained and very clean. This place is nice for families and couples. If your someone who wants to sleep on a bed the cabins are perfect as you can sit outside all night in front of the bon fire then go inside to your cabin to sleep!! Wifi wasnt to bad !! but if you need to make calls to fam and friends you can just walk up closer to the main house :) I would def come back here again ❤️ There is also a small spot in the town 7 mins away with 2 cafes me and my partner drove up there and spent 4 hours exploring everything there all in the same street the wine tasting, art gallery, cafe, museum, 2x thrif stores was really nice !!! 100000/10

Weekend Trip to Glamping Vineyard Getaway

What a cute setup! I love the addition of the tiny house with the glamping tent, it made cooking and using the bathroom really easy - especially in winter! The glamping tent was really cosy and had everything you needed. The location was far away from anything else but really easy to get to and access. It was so nice sitting by the fire in the evening and listening to the creek and all the nature around you. Communication from hosts was great. I'd definitely return!

Weekend Trip to Colo River Hut

The Colo Hut was a great spot , not too far from Sydney yet far enough to feel away from it all. The hot shower was an added bonus in the cold and having a sink was extremely convenient. The river is a few steps away from the site, we tried fishing but had no luck. The fire pit was great for cooking and keeping warm. Thanks Richard for sharing your property!

I 100% recommend Broke glamping estate, to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away! It is a beautiful spot and it is beautiful!! With so many food and wine options so close to the area too!
