Misty Mountain Farm is a family run working beef cattle property and horse training facility situated at the base of picturesque Coolangatta Mountain.
Camp grounds are well maintained grass paddocks surrounded by beautiful picturesque scenery.

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Please also note that there is no reception in this area, the closest place for phone reception is at Pigeon House Mountain. In the event of any emergency the caretaker does have STARLINK to assist with contacting medical authorities or family.

Just nearby, Riverside Café is ideal for fresh coffee, breakfast or a casual lunch in a peaceful riverside setting.
The camping area is surrounded by walking tracks and over the Christmas period the renowned Clyde Berry Farm is open where you can pick your own fresh berries or relax on the grounds for a ice-cream.
You will find Shallow Crossing is also just a 10 min drive up the River Road for an exhilarating swim in fresh mountain water.
The traditional water side camp kitchen offers a BBQ and table to eat. Has power and lighting, fresh drinking water, toilet, hot and cold shower and plenty of cover. With a fire pit just outside for toasting of marshmallows this makes for the best camping spot in the region.
Please be mindful this is a camping and caravaning experience, there is for your convenience a flushing toilet (bring own toilet paper).
This site has its own concrete boat ramp making a heaven for all fisho's and skiers. The ramp is totally safe to launch any watercraft. With water onsite you can even flush motors at the end of the day.

There is so much to see and do. Climb Pigeon House Mountain or cruise on the Merinda up the Nelligen River over a seafood lunch...you will not be disappointed.
Upon arrival, you will be able to choose a spot on the property that you wish to set up. All campers must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet and take all waste when they go. Strictly no 'digging a hole.'
When booking please note that one site is big enough for your van or tent, the extras button is for extra guest/children in your tent or van.
If you have guests with another tent or van and vehicle they need to book their own site
The pubs and clubs are a near convenience, or you can just kick back by your own pit fire and enjoy the stars in the safety of The Hundred Acre Woods.

Matt is very friendly and met with us on arrival. He had firewood and lit the fire for the campers, which was really nice.
The campsites are on an open field but are spaced out so it doesn’t feel crowded.
We’d definitely camp here again.

This is a great spot to camp with loads of room to set up. We had two caravans on site with two cars and two little dogs and still plenty of room to relax. Hospitality was exceptionally good as the guys on site showed us to our location and set us up with some firewood which helped us settle in quickly .
The toilets are dump toilets that are well kept and clean to use .
Bring plenty of fresh water as there is no potable water available.
The creek is good for paddle and there is always plenty of fish jumping during the evening.
The entry into the site is a little steep with a sharp right turn at the top of the hill that could cause an issue for the in experienced.
We will definitely be back as we have listed Matt’s property as one our favourite spots to camp surrounded by great towns and places to visit .

Such a beautiful spot! Well maintained camping spaces, well signed with clear instructions.
We didn’t use the long drop toilet but it’s centrally located and very clean with sawdust provided. Plenty of wood around for your campfire or you can purchase wood for $20 per mill crate. Cows and horse (Elmo) are lovely! 🥰 Creek is also beautiful!!

Our time camping at Grady's was absolutely beautiful! Excellent amenities and the site we were on was nice and secluded. Well maintained, grassy sites, and a rubbish and recycling bin right there for us. We were arriving when the office was unattended but we had such clear instructions from Alma that it wasn't an issue at all.
Loved our time at Grady's and will absolutely be returning!

Loved our stay. Campgrounds and facilities were in fantastic condition, with plenty of space for the two kids (5yo) to run around. They loved the tree swing, fishing, bike riding, animal spotting, camp fires and picnics. Easy to find and no hassles finding a spot. Can’t wait to go back.

Ross and Lisa operate their campground with absolute pride. Having had extensive travels around Australia, and having stayed in other establishments in the local area, I can assure you that Clyde River Campgrounds is very much a cut above the rest. The hosts, available amenities and surrounds will truly ensure you will have nothing but an amazing experience and an enjoyable day. Fun for all the family, and the children have plenty to keep them occupied from their pesky device's. The location has its own boat ramp, sells firewood, and the stars at night are amazing. If you enjoy fishing or just jumping on a canoe this location ticks all the boxes.
The campgrounds are exceptionally well maintained, ready to stoke the fire and forget about life. The view and surrounds are nothing short of exceptional tranquility.
Travel for the nearest supplies is not far, as Batemans Bay provides an abundance of things to do which includes cinemas, shopping, forgotten camping and fishing accessories and a wide array of fresh locally sourced seafood delivered straight to your plate.
I highly recommend the Clyde River Campgrounds and will be returning there again in the future.
