Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with.
Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.

Walk to lookouts over the ocean, hike down to the beach or a few minutes drive to dog friendly beaches. Our bathroom and kitchen facilities make it an easy experience for first time campers. We are well-behaved-dog-friendly BUT you must let us know in advance.
Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys.
Our property covers over 140 acres, 80 acres cleared and pasture improved and the rest consisting of forest. The Chain O Ponds creek runs through the property and makes for a lovely walk. You will probably get to see kangaroo, wallaby, wombats, echidnas, koalas and lots of bird life.
The lush green hills abound with walking and cycling trails. You can head to the spectacular Nattai Gorge via the Box Vale Mine walking track, an easy 4.4km circular walk that follows an old railway line through a tunnel to breath-taking views. Enjoy a picnic in the magnificent Lake Alexandra Reserve or hike up extinct volcanic peak Mount Gibraltar.
The closest shops are approximately a 15 minute drive to the Mittagong Town Centre where you will find all the shops, cafes and restaurants for your needs. It is well worth a visit to ‘The Shaggy Cow’ cafe, one of our favourite foodie spots (don’t forget to mention Elouera Vale).
While you're here please try the Cool Climate wines. The region’s rich soil and high altitude are ideal for cool-climate wine growing. Visit cellar doors in the hills and valleys around Mittagong, including Centennial Vineyards. Enjoy a pleasant wine tasting experience at Centennial (don’t forget to mention us).

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround.
It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views.
As of September 2025, many of the trails on the property have been degraded by the rains and are now challenging for 2WD cars. If you're towing or it's wet we recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles.
Since this is coastal rainforest and it has been very wet, expect leeches anywhere it is damp. These are easily kept at bay with deet and or trousers tucked into socks.
We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. Our access track to the camping sites has been repaired with a deep layer of asphalt but still best suited to 4WD. The majority of standard 2WD cars manage the track fine There is also the option of parking roadside, and walking in approx 300m to the sites. Please message us if unsure about your vehicle.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
1. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog/dogs - we have horses, house dogs, chickens and; wildlife plus likely other campers close by, so need to be forewarned. Dogs must be on lead or contained at all times.
2. If you need to camp out of your 4WD RV (such as a roof top tent), please contact me before booking to ensure those two particular vehicle sites are still available :) and that your vehicle is suitable for our track. Maximum length is approx 5m. Please scroll through the photos to see our amenities and camping sites.
3. We limit the number of people staying at any one time, so weekends book up quickly. That said, due to Covid and weather, people often cancel at the last minute too, so if we are currently booked out, it's always worthile checking again closer to the date for any availability.
We are on acreage (approx 7 acres) in Otford, surrounded by forest, backing onto the very southern end of the Royal National Park Sydney/Wollongong. Sleep under the stars, and to the hoot of our local owls, and yips of the gorgeous feather-tail gliders. Lovely, peaceful and private in a bushland backdrop but so close and just a hike to famous sites, beaches, cafes and bushwalking - so the perfect spot to stop, unpack and then go exploring.

Elouera Vale is a working farm located just outside Mittagong NSW. We breed and train camels for sale, especially into the Southern Highlands. Camels are excellent for weed control and co-grazing with cattle. 'Elouera Vale' also breeds Belted Galloway cattle, Dorper and Wiltipol sheep and donkeys.

Located near the township of Sussex Inlet, right next door to Berrara and surrounded by Conjola National Park, visitors to Cudmirrah Beach are spoilt for choice with many options for enjoying the outdoors.
Cudmirrah Beach is ideal for long beach walks at any time of year, you can either walk north to Sussex Inlet (and take the dog who will love you for it) or south to Berrara then all the way to Bendalong if you are feeling adventurous!

La Estancia Hideaway was the perfect place for a 3 night break away. It's spacious, surrounded by trees, quiet and very, very comfortable. A fresh and clean bathroom, huge amenities shed and even an open air bath. Our host, Magali, was welcoming and communicative. Highly recommended and we'll be back.

this place is so amazing along with the host - it’s an absolute hidden treasure that once you know you will return - it’s in a great spot for exploring the Jervis Bay Area - it has the best communal area and an outdoor bath in the forest that is private to your booking - I almost don’t want to review this because I want to make sure I get to revisit !! But Magali and her place need a shout out as she has poured so much love into creating a beautiful camping experience :)

3 nights at The Wandy Donkey Camp
We had a wonderful time at the bush cabin. It was clean, well-equipped, private and in a relaxing setting with an outlook of beautiful gumtrees. Kate was very welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. We were able to feed and pat some of the farm animals too. We loved the donkeys, they were very friendly. A great experience overall, we are really happy we found this spot. Thank you Kate!

We loved this camp! Although the roads coming in were a bit rough and anyone with a 2wd or low car should be prepared for, the destination was lovely. The facilities were great, clean and tidy, and we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

We stayed at sunset in a swag which was a little bit on a slope as you are pretty much camping on a beautiful big sandy rock.
The sunset and the night sky and the gorgeous walks near by, I love the chairs set up at various locations around the gorge.
The accessibility to the property was fantastic, we were unbothered by the host or other campers we had campsite to ourselves not able to hear noise from others.
Other campers did walk by on the way to the gorge and did think the sunset sign was where you went to watch we did invite them to check out the site and I highly suggested to them the sunset spots down at the gorge as I was so amazed by those.
Hard to believe something so magical is only a little over an hour and a bit from Wollongong. The proximity to the townships is fabulous and we will be back to check out the tours of the historic town and attend the local distillery. Next time I think a cheese platter down by the gorge from the host will be required.

Big place , plenty of sport to camp. River here is excellent for swimming, paddle board and Kayack.
We have a 22ft Jayco Outback and a Pajero and road in was fine , could be tricky if a big vans coming the other way but many passing places.

Wow what a stunning property,
So much love and care has been put into this place.
A peaceful forest retreat, not far from the beautiful Sapphire coast.
Very private campsites, with stunning views.
Amazing Hosts!
We were very Lucky to share Pizza on our first night! (I highly recommend doing this.)
On our second night we had a spa and watched the sunset.
Another bonus is the outdoor shower with breathtaking views!
Ours dogs had the most amazing time and quickly made friends with Luna.
We hope to visit again.

‘Stump no more’ was a good space for 3 tents with a nice view. Definitely 4 wheel or AWD recommended. An assortment of bird calls at dawn. I would like to return again next year to explore more.

What a great spot with everything we needed and heaps of space. We had a caravan and 3 kids. Rob provided a water connection and power so we were happy campers! Pool was delightful and the kids enjoyed the 3 dogs that joined us in the afternoons. Peaceful, no fuss, no stress, happily recommend.

Do not come here if you don't have a FWD or someone that knows how to FWD. It is an incredible place with very friendly staff and beautiful amenities and a pool, great price for the experience. We brought a Mitsubishi Express van down the very steep and very windy dirt track and she barely made it down and back in one piece, I would not recommend bringing an RV or non-FWD van/bus down here, and especially not a camper trailer. Still absolutely stunning and would recommend to anyone that can handle it.

Site: 5/5 ⭐️ Views: 5/5⭐️ Amenities: 3/5⭐️ Wow! My partner and I were looking for a place to stay and we randomly came across this place on Hipcamp. The photos do not do this place justice at all, the land is incredibly large and the river that has some sand which is so serene. We enjoyed 1 night here and really wished we could have spent at least 2-3! There is so much space, we had an awesome view and the river was beautiful to swim in. It took a little while to drive in with it being predominantly gravel road all the way in, but the nevertheless, WORTH THE TREK! We were greeted by lovely staff and a big Great Dane at the front office who were super lovely and informative. Amenities are small but good. We are self contained travellers so it was fine for us. Absolutely love this place and can’t recommend enough! 😍😍

It's was a lovely maintained area, public amenities relatively close by, absolutely loved the 10.30pm noise curfew although a family right across from us tried to have a rave until 11pm however we could see staff had told them twice to quieten down... they reluctantly did 😆 ideally a toilet block in each zone would be better but still enjoyed our stay here.

Could not have asked for more! The river is stunning and beautiful to swim in, kangaroos everywhere which was great for us as we had family with us visiting from Ireland!
It is down a very steep entrance! Took about 20/25 minutes to get to the campsite in our RV - AVOID if in a motorhome!
But the hosts were amazing and assisted us in everyway they could!
Would absolutely recommend and will be back in smaller campers!😂
