Horizon Oasis if fantastic for those seeking a peaceful getaway. We ended up staying on a paddock site and were extremely happy with our choice. We loved the birds, kangaroos and cows in adjacent fields. Clint is a wonderful host, giving prompt, helpful, thorough answers to my questions and making useful suggestions.

I really enjoyed staying at Horizon Oasis. The place is so beautiful. The campsites are big and open with loads of space. The view is magic and it is so peaceful. Clint is a fantastic host. I had a tractor ride around the property including a walk down to the incredible swimming hole on the river. There's sites right up near the road (which has hardly any traffic, just a few locals) which suited me as I was just passing through so super easy to get in and out. And there is also a stunning spot further down the property. The property just has 4 or 5 sites too which mean you aren't parked in like sardines like some places. Clint is a lovely person, gave me great instructions on how to get there and was great to have a chat with while I was staying. The cows and chickens and Honey the dog all add to the pleasant vibe! If you want a nice little piece of paradise to stay near Grafton this is it.

Camping at Island Acres was fantastic. Justin was extremely helpful and always made sure everything was OK, and that we did not need anything. From Headland 1, we has an awesome view west to the mountains overlooking the island and the cane fields. We were lucky to see some cane burning one night while we were there. Island Acres is highly recommended, and a great spot to stay while exploring the area. Easy access to and from the property. Molly and Bindi, Justin's dogs were also very friendly and dropped by occasionally for a pat.

Weekend Trip to Island Acres
We stayed in campsite Nursery Grass1 for 2 nights in mid June. A beautiful and peaceful spot overlooking the nursery and the Clarence valley beyond. We had a bit of cloud on the horizon both evenings making for a great sunsets. Justin was very welcoming and helpful and even showed us around his nursery after we asked him about it.

Loved our 4 night stay, Justin is an awesome host and the block of land is beautiful. Amazing sunset views in the afternoon and nice and close to Maclean and Yamba. Great for a larger group and loads of space for the doggos to stretch the legs. Will definitely stay again.

Justin provided us with all the wood we needed as well as water for the van. Clint was very accommodating and his property is well presented and sign posted. This came in handy when unforeseen circumstances saw us setting up in the dark! We woke to bird song and light mist in the valley, the odd roo and the sun rising through the trees. Truly a magical place to be able to stay. Very well priced which shows how honest and humble our host is to share his property with Hipcamp users at a very fair price. Our stay was short lived as we were traveling through, but we have put Clint’s property in the bank to explore the area further as there is plenty to offer. One of the most beautiful hipcamps with the most welcoming and accomodating host! I cant recommend this camp more, truly. Beautiful views over the Clarence Valley from the site are not exaggerated, depending on the night will depend on the type of sky show - but there is always a show! The stars too... wow. Its quiet and peaceful, high ground that backs onto a nature reserve. Lots of wildlife to enjoy here. For the price its crazy good to stay here! Justin is a top host, he made the place feel like home immediately and I cannot wait to come here again. Its incredible.

At The Good Life, we’re big on personal space. Every campsite is large, private and genuinely secluded, giving you the feeling you’re a long way from everyone and everything. Every site has its own fire pit, and if you burn through your firewood faster than a pollie breaks a promise, we can sort you out with more for a small fee. Now for a quick reality check. We’re not the Hilton. In fact, we don’t provide any amenities at all. No toilets, no showers, no bins. Think of The Good Life as a safe, private slice of bush that feels like the middle of nowhere, because it pretty much is. You’ll need to be fully self-contained and take everything you bring in back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. What you do with your time is entirely up to you. Park yourself in a camp chair with a book, wander the farm, or lace up your boots and explore around 70 acres of bush tracks. When night falls, the stars put on a serious show and the silence is so complete you can actually hear yourself think. There’s no phone service and no Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. It’s the perfect excuse to ignore your emails. If you feel like venturing out, the Orara Valley and Coffs Coast offer stunning rainforests, beaches, waterfalls and swimming holes, all within a 30-minute drive.

Located, just 25 minutes from the pristine beaches of Yamba and Iluka. Across the river and just 15 minutes from the Scottish town of Maclean, nestled high in the Yamba hinterland. You will not hear traffic, you will not see headlights. Pure peace and tranquility for you to relax, chill and enjoy. The sites are surrounded by rugged mountainous bush land with views, trails, cliffs, 3 creeks to explore and includes a private lake ‘Lake Arid’ with its own island, ‘Dead Dog Island’. Swim, paddle, fish, play. Metres away is another private swimming hole ‘Pants Off Pond’ stocked with Silver Perch and Bass. So whether you indulge in pants off, or leave them on and just fish it’s up to you. Explore a little further and you’ll find ‘The Abyss’ a former micro quarry, 9m deep waterhole. The creeks have waterfalls, swimming holes, pure and clean, though are a rugged unmarked hike. The sites are site only. You’ll need to take care of your waste, water, rubbish and power. Generator is ok, we’re out of earshot, so is everyone else. Each site has a picnic table and a fire pit and an abundance of ‘cut your own’ firewood upon the ground. Remember, fires this time of year are for ‘cooking only’, so be sure to bring those marshmallows… Pet Friendly, 4WD friendly with a bunch of serious challenges too… Horse friendly too, yep, there’s a yard to keep them too, up by the house. Accessible by 2WD with sites with enough space for any size caravan or motor home. While exploring, if you find a spot you’d rather camp, simply ask. We live on the property so help is nearby for any issues and the access road is shared. Peace, quiet and nature abounds.

HIDING IN THE MIDDLE OF EVERYWHERE! Pure. Unadulterated. WILD. 104 very private acres, securely sandwiched between a National Park Nature Reserve and State Forest. On a dead end road. No agriculture or farms upstream, only one other like-minded property owner. Secluded, but hiding smack bang in the middle of everywhere! From vertiginous sandstone cliffs on which epipetrics cling tight, right through to palm-filled rainforests, and with two quite different creek systems (including a monster waterfall), you'll be spoiled for things to do and places to explore - without even leaving the property! HISTORY This land is Gumbaynggirr land. Please be particularly mindful of our First Nation's long presence on this land. In the 1800's, white men came seeking Red Cedar, closely followed by settlers having a go at dairying; though logging has remained this area's mainstay. This special property, despite last being selectively logged about 50 years ago, hosts many huge old-growth trees remaining steadfast for your discovery and wonder. And many more are continuing to grow out too. About 35 years ago about nine of this property's eastern-most 104 acres became part of a far larger nashi pear orchard which filled much of the flats of this top end of the valley that you see today. Ultimately they failed to set good commercial fruit, and the rootstocks took over. You can see remnant rows of these trees just south of the property, from along the road. (Beware though - they have spikes that could puncture Caterpillar tracks!) MORE RECENTLY extensive lantana control efforts have been undertaken as we now move into revegetating with native species and implementing a permaculture plan. Today the property is registered with Land For Wildlife and hosts a very wide mix of native vegetation communities. ACTIVITIES Bird watch. Climb. Abseil. Photograph wildflowers. Paint. Swim. In the next valley there's even gold to be found. Explore trails by mountain bike. Whale watch. Surf. Learn SCUBA. Go beach-combing. Catch a mudcrab. Go whitewater river rafting. Developments in the pipeline will be the addition of animals, an orchard, a dam and Aquaponics vegetable production which are currently in the works. We currently have 18 chickens and 10 Angus cattle on the property and fresh organic free range eggs can be purchased at request.
