Bernard and Susan are custodians of the farm, primarily using the land for poultry (egg), pig, and goat farming. They are transitioning to an off-grid and eco-friendly lifestyle for their retirement. The Hatch Farm is home to many animals, most of whom are rescues - including border collies, cavalier king charles spaniels, chickens, ducks, pigs, sheep, goats, miniature horses, cows, cats, rabbits, and guinea pigs. We are offering 6 beautiful, partly shaded, camping sites along the pristine Upper Karuah River. All sites are separated for privacy and are all right on the edge of the river. Stayed at long flat for 3 nights. Site was very large and well maintained. Had platypus right in front of our camp each night. They came out just as the sun set over the range. Jo and Ian were very welcoming and happy to help. All sites spaced far apart so you hear no noise of other campers. Highly recommend and we already booked our next weekend away while we there.

We stayed at ‘The Rapids’ site which was a beautiful spot overlooking the river. Access was easy for our 15ft van. The hosts were very welcoming and communication was great. The beautiful town of Stroud is about 8kms away if you need any supplies. We’ll definitely be back.

We had a great weekend in our caravan at Long Flat. The site was well maintained, private and flat. The stars at night are amazing, the river was a big win for the kids and they loved seeing the farm animals and having a fire of an evening. Quick drive into town for essentials and the dump point. Jo and Ian were welcoming and kind, they checked in during our stay to make sure everything was ok. We will definitely be back :)

Our weekend camping at the rapids was so lovely. From arriving to leaving everything was so easy and relaxed and Joanne was such a great host and very helpful. We loved how private each spot is making you feel like the only ones there. The rapids part of the river was such great fun, the kids and our dog had the best time exploring and riding the kayak down the rapids- and the river was perfect for the hot weather! So lovely to watch the sunset while watching the cows graze and being visited by the young calves and at the river watching the butterflys and dragon flys dance around. We loved it and will definitely be repeat campers of gorgeous willowbank

I loved my very short overnight stay at Hatch Farm because there were animals everywhere to pat, feed and just have around. I really liked to see all the different birds, feeding the goats, looking at the little lambs and watching the geese waddle. But best of all was patting the friendly Border Collies who came to say hello as the walked around the farm. On arrival, I was greeted by Bernie who explained the facilities and guided me to my perfect little site very close to the amenities. The drop toilet had charm and there was hot water available from an outside tap. There were other campers but everyone kept noise under control so I had a peaceful rest. I had to leave before 6am to continue my long drive home but would love to come back to stay for a longer experience, including a paddle on the river, with all equipment readily available at the farm. After one last pat of one of the dogs that had come to see me off, I left this little slice of paradise with a smile😀.

The camp areas were beautiful by the river or the dam. The property was well set up for campers and would definitely recommend. Look forward to stopping there again.
