Please note that this is a free flowing river and there are rapids and waterfalls in parts, so care must be taken in parts. The campsites do require a 4WD to be accessed and are not suitable for larger caravans. Small of road vans and camper trailers are fine. Pets are welcome but we are a working cattle property, so if your dog is going to chase cattle it's probably not a great fit. Hacketts Haven is our 68 acre property, located near Copmanhurst which boasts your own exclusive panoramic view overlooking the Clarence River. The site is approximately 14 metres clear/elevated from the river (which makes it very safe if the river was to rise above minor or moderate flooding). A truly unique camping experience overlooking the wide spanse of the Clarence only a short distance from the small village of Copmanhurst, perfect for a group booking of up to 20. Enjoy your own private site with a sandy beach @40m below site, east of the Copmanhurst boat ramp. Take a walk down the steepish soft sandy cattle tracks to the waters edge and enjoy yourself. Note: Sand can be very hot! Obedient dogs permitted and that they are on a lead or under control with livestock or cattle dogs around. No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place - check with host. NOTE: No treated wood to be brought or burnt on the property The Rest Point Hotel sells bags of firewood. As per Hipcamp guidelines, be fire safe, dispose of garbage responsibly and leave no trace. Beautiful spot on the Clarence river. Perched atop a hill you get great views. The river was actually a great temperature for swimming too! Cows are curious and come right up to camp. Very breezy! Even when “hot” it didn’t feel like it and got very cold at night. You could see the other campers down at the river banks as there are the copmanhurst campgrounds. They boat and jet ski up and down the river so wasn’t as quiet as we thought it would be but this was a very minor detail! Still fairly quiet and the views above looking down are well worth it. Sunrise to the west and sunset to the east. Can’t get better than that! Hosts communicative.

Craig’s Private River Camp was the perfect destination for a relaxed camping Christmas with the extended family. There is plenty of space with not another soul in sight. Numerous potential sites to choose from each with a beautiful outlook. The river was a short walk from our selected camping area and we made use of the beach area with shade from a beautiful tree next to the waters edge. We also made use of the Kayaks available on site to do a bit of river exploring. We are definitely planning to return.

Staying with Richard was a wonderful experience for us and the children. Richard is a wonderfully warm person who makes you feel right at home. A beautiful property, surrounded by nature. A barbecue with wood is available, as are bathroom facilities, electricity, and water. There's even a swimming pool for the kids. We recommend staying with Richard to everyone.

Richard's farm is a massive piece of land and we were allowed to pick any spot. Richard is a gracious host who proved all the necessities for the travelers - fresh water and power. There is plenty of wood on site and Richard can lend you an axe if you feel up to it. Bring some carrots and apples to feed the neighbours horses - kids will love it. The site itself is reasonably leveled and we had no issues in parking our motorhome. Overall our stay was fun and enjoyable.

Beautifully maintained camping area we had a huge grassy and flat spot by the river with a fire pit. Appreciated the çlean composting toilet. The swimming hole was deep and had a flat granite rock in the middle of the river that the kids spent hours jumping off. Stuart was an easy going host who offered us early arrival and late pack up. We had a wonderful weekend!

Our 3rd time to this property, 2nd time on site one, as usual Stuart has it well maintained and looking lovely. Excellent flat grassed campgrounds with heaps of room. This site is located on a bend in the river with easy access to deep pools and waterfalls. After our second trip is the pic of the three in our opinion. Host advisers 4WD only and he is right. The track in and out after a spot of rain in very slippery. We suggest taking some basic recovery gear such as recovery tracks.

My friends and I stayed for the weekend and absolutely loved it! The whole place was spotless and beautifully maintained — you can really tell how much care goes into keeping it that way. The swimming hole and facilities are a short walk from the campsites, and if you head up the hill, you’ll get stunning sunset views. Alex was incredibly welcoming, helpful and made sure we had everything we needed (even supplied us with loads of firewood!). Can’t wait to come back!
