Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up.
NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here.
We're located just 5kms north-east of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage.
We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers.
The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep.
Campers must take out what you bring in.
Mobile phone service and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! Completely. We suggest downloading (before leaving home) your Spotify faves and Maps for this area then you can't go wrong.

Our private, riverfront secluded campsites are large and clean. All 6 sites are riverfront with power and fresh water supplied. They are relatively flat, level grass/dirt areas with gum trees peppered throughout the site for shade in summer.
We can accommodate any type and size of camping vehicle and 2WDs. Park your caravan or pitch a tent and relax.
For fishing and watersport enthusiasts there is access to a boat ramp. From camp there is sloping bank access to the water, steeper in some parts.
Guests will have access to a toilet, fire drums and cut your own firewood is available.

Lovely picturesque spot by the Goulburn River. Nice flat spot. Only downside was access to water is a little difficult and very steep, especially with kids.
Tim was a fantastic host, so friendly and helpful with great communication, but gave us our privacy.
We had a last minute guest and Tim was so accommodating.
Will look to be back at another of Tim's spots with some easier access to the water :)

This property is absolutely incredible! We were greeted on arrival and given a run down of the facilities (which are beautiful!). The hosts were the best I’ve ever had on a Hipcamp stay. I would highly recommend this to anyone wanting to get away to enjoy peace and quiet with ample space. Our kids and dog loved it!

We had the best time at Kerry and Ben’s place. Kerry came to check in on us when we were setting up, and she was very welcoming. She gave us a tip on where to swim in the Murray which was a lovely spot. The camp site was lovely and flat, and we loved the little tub - good for the dog and us on an hot summer’s day. The outdoor shower did not disappoint. It has been well designed with just enough privacy but also an amazing view. We appreciated Kerry and Ben going above and beyond to ensure we had the best trip to Echuca/ Moama. We will be back :)

No. 3 was very lovely, set in a quiet corner of Kerry and Ben's property. The creek was dry when we visited (mid Feb) but we cycled down the creek bed to the Murray for a swim. Great as a base camp with Echuca-Moama and Barmah park nearby.
The shower was an absolute delight to have! There were many small touches that made the site feel comfortable without taking away from the natural beauty.
Have you ever been able to see the milky way while sitting on a flush toilet? This is your chance!

Clear directions made getting there easy. The place was beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing. We loved being able to choose our own spot and really enjoy being away from others. The lake access was unreal such a highlight that you can access it no matter where you set up. Not a single complaint from us. Best spot, hands down. We’ll be back!

Wowww this place had everything we needed for an incredible weekend with family and friends to celebrate my 40th birthday. We all want to go back asap! A perfect spot on the Murray, gorgeous huts for everyone, the leaders lodge was a beautiful place to rest, the kitchen was great, and Fred was incredibly lovely and welcoming.
We had around 50 people and shared the cooking and cleaning - the kitchen was well equipped to cook for crowds. There were plenty of showers and toilets which were clean and nice to use, there was air conditioning in the leaders lodge and in the 5 bedrooms and enough beds to suit everyone.
We loved being right on the water, we used the canoes from MLA, and our own paddleboards and floaties. There is a path all along the river so you can walk upstream and float back down which was a dream. There is a jetty and an easy access into the water from the bank so everyone could get in.
We put decorations, set up our sound system, brought in a performer, and booked a woollies food delivery which all worked out perfectly. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate Fred and MLA for allowing us to use their beautiful space, thank you!!

This huge site is suitable for a large group. It’s far enough away from the other campsite that you can make some noise. We enjoyed feeling like we were alone. It’s very close to both Moama and Echuca so trips for supplies were easy. It is dusty bush camping though so be prepared. Kerry was a lovely and responsive host.

Great little quiet spot. Shower and toilet are the best you’ll find. Host was responsive and communicative. Moama Beach 13 mins away by car was so good for a swim. No water in creek next to site during our stay due to the heat.
