Noonameena is a beautiful retreat that feels secluded from the world, yet is just a stones throw from shops, beach, good food and parklands. We offer a number of grassy, level sites, some with shade, others with sun, all with bushland to the rear. There is also a pond/dam area, and lots of wildlife. We have a fire pit for communal use (subject to fire bans and weather conditions). The kangaroos will come and visit you early in the morning, and in the evening. You will also see lots of different parrots and birds. We even have goannas and echidnas about and the black cockatoos will come in for a visit. You will need to bring your own camp toilet, as we don't have facilities here. Pets are welcome but please keep them on a lead at all times as we have lots of wildlife around! Please note, when we have heavy rain, the ground can get boggy. We are very mindful to keep tabs on the weather for our guests, and will be in good communication with you in the lead up to your stay should we suspect there to be any issues. Whilst camping by the beautiful dam is lovely in fine weather, when it's raining, it’s best to camp towards the front of the property on higher ground. We'll advise the best solution in these circumstances. LET US KNOW about your preferred booking even if it appears booked out, as we can probably make it work or have ALTERNATIVE solutions for you! Pull up beside "the pond" (the dam) on the property, or find yourself a wide-open grassy patch or a shaded corner. Plentiful birdlife, and kangaroos passing through daily! Our local area has a lot to offer including Hunter Valley gardens, beer breweries, wineries, restaurants, clubs, bars, golf course and more. Grocery shops within a 8klms few minutes drive. We're in a very convenient, central location! Campfires are permitted in the designated fire pits when restrictions/bans are not in place. We have firewood available to purchase on-site.

Peaceful Pond is our 10-acre property in bushland, just 15 minutes from the village of Karuah, NSW. The pond has an island, reached via a floating bridge. Enjoy the tranquility of listening to the abundant birdlife, or swim in the cool, clear water, among the waterlilies. If you prefer more activity you can paddle a kayak or go for a bush walk. There are pushbikes available to ride through the bush tracks to the river, if you feel energetic. You may see wallabies and kangaroos, goannas, and even echidnas. The dark night skies are ablaze with stars for you to enjoy. Tim and Vicki will welcome you with some fresh eggs for your breakfast, and give you access to drinking water from their rainwater tank. We offer several camping sites tucked around the property. All for self-contained campers, with no access to power or running water, so campers must have their own toilet. Fires are permitted in firepits provided when weather and fire ratings allow. Firewood is provided. Pets are welcome, as long as they are on a lead or under close control, to ensure the safety of the wildlife. Relax, unwind, and listen to the sounds of nature.

Great spot, lovely grassy site close to town but still private. Not many amenities but that wasn't an issue for us. Sibby was very helpful and made sure we got in and settled ok. Would stay again!

Good flat site for easy camping. Access is via fire trail, and would recommend only 4wd access, especially in rainy conditions. Plenty of tinder and firewood was available, but we didn’t need to use it.

Tarahleigh is a beautiful place to stop and visit the Hunter Valley Vineyards. The campsites are well spaced out and Janette is building a lovely water area which is so peaceful to sit by. We appreciated Janette’s fast response to all our questions. Meeting us on arrival we were given a map of the area and she pointed out lots of great points of interest. We recommend.

Weekend Trip to Noonameena

We really enjoyed our stay here with our pets for 3 nights. Sibby's communication was excellent, the place was easy to find and we were guided into our spot. Everything was very green, there was plenty of Birdlife, roos and possums and peace at nighttime. We based ourselves here and went to Newcastle and Nelson Bay easily over the few days, easy drives in both directions.

Easy to find, close enough to drive into wineries, and amazing privacy. So quiet, with lots of birdsong to enjoy. We saw plenty of roo’s coming through morning and late arvo, and a few horses from the neighbours paddock said hello.

Sonia was lovely to deal with and very prompt communication. Really peaceful, rustic bush setting, and welcoming of dogs. Facilities currently very basic, and road in had culverts that would be an issue for low vehicles or large vans, but was fine for our 14 foot set up.

Janette was welcoming upon our arrival and provided us an opportunity to select our location of preference. The location was perfect for our visit to the Hunter Valley region with picturesque farm life views. My girls loved visiting the race horses next door and it was a really enjoyable stay. Definitely recommend for those visiting the Hunter Valley region.

He was the perfect host, always ensuring we were looked after but also conscious of being overly involved (which he NEVER was by the way).
