Welcome to Our Cane & Cattle Farm on the Clarence River
Step onto our four‑generation working cane and cattle farm, where the smell of fresh‑cut cane, the hum of farm life, and the shimmer of the Clarence River set the tone for your stay. Your adventure begins at the entrance, marked by “Rusty,” our old sugarcane harvester — a true piece of local history and a favourite photo stop.
The winding driveway leads you through the paddocks, past different cane varieties and grazing horses and cattle. The front horse paddock will soon become our upgraded camp kitchen and guest area, and we’re excited to keep improving the space while staying true to the farm’s heritage.
Life on the Farm
Days here follow the rhythm of the land and the river. Wander through the cane, taste sweet juice straight from the stalk, and see how sugarcane is grown and harvested. Enjoy bike riding, walking trails, quiet fishing spots, and kayaking or canoeing straight from the property. The Ashby Creek swimming hole offers a calm, sheltered place for a refreshing dip.
Life on the River
This part of the Clarence is famous for water skiing, boating, and long, glassy stretches perfect for exploring. The fishing here is excellent, with calm water and plenty of great spots right from the property. We often boat across to Maclean for supplies, giving guests a real taste of river life.
The sunsets here are something else — short, stunning bursts of colour that light up the whole river and paddocks. As the sun drops, the sky turns gold, pink, and deep orange, and the Clarence reflects it all like glass. It’s a quiet, peaceful moment where everything slows down and the whole farm glows.
Exploring the Clarence Valley
There’s plenty to do nearby — enjoy a meal at the Harwood Hotel, stop for morning tea on Chatsworth Island, or join in local favourites like the Maclean Cane Harvest Festival, Maclean Highland Gathering, Yamba, Iluka and Brooms head famous beaches and the Grafton Races. The Clarence Valley is full of character, history, and country charm.

Our 40 acre property is home to four quiet, secure, exclusive river front sites on the mighty Clarence River. Boating, fishing and crabbing literally at your doorstep. And it's just a 15 minute drive into the towns of Yamba and Maclean.
To ensure all our guests have a comfortable and spacious experience, each campsite is designated for one camp set up only (eg one caravan or camper trailer or tent) This allows us to maintain a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere with plenty of space between sites.
The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet.

Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance.
Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house.
Pets are welcome but must be kept under control.
Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place.
Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase.
Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

Making memories is what we are about whether that be fishing, swimming, kayaking, watching the races in the bar over a game of pool or just sitting by the fire with your favorite tunes to relax and unwind. We are professional musicians and love to meeting people. Elphie used to own the iconic Nimbin Rox backpacker hostel, and although Soulhaven is only in its infancy, it still has a relaxed atmosphere.
Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops.
Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle.
This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest.
Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home!
Our place is family friendly and we ask that you keep music and noise to a minimum after 10pm.

GETTING TO THE ISLAND
You will be picked up by small powerboat from the riverbank opposite the island (Visitor Point) but our powerboat does not operate on Saturdays. There is parking for your car at Visitor Point.

Once on the island you will be given a tour and shown to our accommodation.
A row boat and double canoe is provided so you can go to your car as you please, a rowing distance of about 600m. We can not allow guests to operate our powerboat themselves.

Twenty minutes from the highway- the 60-acre farm is a quiet oasis in a rural community. Fairlight was purpose-built for guests who have described it as comfy, relaxing, well-stocked, private, and different. The timber interiors and antique pieces add a touch of charm. One guest sai,d "it was like stepping back to a more relaxed time". Another saw the main bedroom and sighed "How romantic!"

Weekend Trip to Clarence Riverview Lodge Glamping
What a truly special place!! We loved the privacy, the views and how peaceful the lodge was!! The place has everything you need for a peaceful break away. We loved the horses who visited daily for the daily feed on the surrounding grassy area - very magical just watching them graze. Beth was a very responsive host, who was polite and friendly. We’d HIGHLY recommend the lodge for those wanting some peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle. Our dog was also welcome and she really enjoyed the place too! Thank you Beth for allowing us to share such a wonderful place!

Weekend Trip to The Jewel of Caniaba
We spent the whole weekend at Aliki’s place. It was awesome. Quiet all the time. Sorrounded by native birds. The hot tub was pleasant. Aliki left coffee capsules for us. We took the hike down to the creek and was so nice. At night we light up the fire pit which was really comfy. We definitely recommend the place if you want to have a quiet weekend as a couple.

3 nights at Petaurus Gardens
Lovely peaceful spot with good amenities and helpful hosts. You can walk around the property and see wildlife and wake up to birdsong.
The tent was comfortable and a decent size.

We had 2 families staying for over a week. Firstly, the roads have been resurfaced, you definitely dont need a 4wd to get in (my tesla was fine) When you turn onto the road, its about 100m down on the right and well signed. The wildlife was amazing, we even spotted owls. Chris provides just about everything you need, in the tent was bedding, light, fan, towels. The grounds include a kids play area, huge undercover spot for cooking (microwave, hot water, bbq) and eating (plenty of tables), toilets were clean, showers were wonderfully hot, and we had a fire pit for evening marshmallows. For a large group Id recommend bringing extra water, but couples or single family would be fine. Chris was attentive and someone popped by daily to see if we needed anything, they were also always available at the office when we called. We had so much fun on the kayaks, fishing, swimming in the river, its a magical spot. I would definitely recommend for anyone wanting some time out, we could have stayed longer.

Great host. Everything is clean and tidy. The kids and dogs loved it. Found lots of turtles in the water and caught a huge fish. The little calves on the farm were gorgeous and gone to see horses running around drinking from the river. It was a beautiful farm/river experience.

1 night at Mororo Hobby Farm
We absolutely loved our stay here! The place had everything we needed and more. The beautiful bedding made it feel so comfortable and cosy, the fridges were stocked with drinks and even fresh eggs, and the fire pit was all set and ready to light. The hot spa was definitely a highlight and was perfect for relaxing a. We also loved all the friendly animals — my absolute favourite was the cutest little baby goat! 🐐There’s so much to see and enjoy around the property, and you can really tell how much thought and care has been put into making guests feel welcome. We had such a wonderful and relaxing stay and will absolutely be back again. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely spot. We brought our two dogs and we all thoroughly enjoyed exploring the property & near by towns. The Hot tub was such a treat. The studio was well equiped and very clean. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to others.

Idyllic spot among the beautiful Aussie countryside of Nymboida. The weather was perfect. Crispy cold mornings, massive blue skies and fantastic sunshine during the day. Seasonal cool nights perfect to sit around the fire and watch the Full moon and stars. Amenities have everything you could possible need and the homstead was well equiped. We will book again one day.

Absolutely amazing service and location. We had a little drive ahead of us and were running a little late. We arrived after 7pm to find Chris had already had a campfire going for us. Very impressed with the community amenities as they were clean and had everything we needed!

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the Riverview Lodge Glamping Pod and honestly couldn't have been happier. The privacy was incredible, allowing us to completely switch off and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
One of the biggest highlights was having access to the kayaks, which was an amazing bonus. We spent our mornings and evenings paddling along the river and fishing, making the most of the beautiful setting. It really added something special to the whole experience.
The cabin itself was cosy, warm, and exceptionally comfortable. The owners have truly thought of everything, with every detail carefully considered to make guests feel at home. After a day on the river, soaking in a beautiful hot bubble bath under the stars was pure bliss and one of the most memorable parts of our stay.
This was exactly the relaxing getaway we were looking for. The combination of comfort, privacy, stunning scenery, and thoughtful touches made it perfect. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful escape in a beautiful location! 🌟🏕️🚣♀️✨
