Our two eco-friendly domes sit on a 120 acre property providing a unique experience with a sense of space and privacy that helps you disengage from the everyday.
Access to water and solar power on site.
There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single.
There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ.
There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together.
For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include:
Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes)
Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes)
Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes)
Eltham Hotel (15 minutes)
The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes)
Bangalow Markets (20 minutes)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this.
This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water.
Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day.
There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler.
Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road.
You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region.
Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway.
In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

We had a really enjoyable stay overall. The domes were peaceful, unique and a great place to switch off and spend quality time with the family. The setting is beautiful and Jane was a very kind and responsive host throughout our stay.
On our first night we did lose power, but Jane was extremely helpful and guided us thoroughly over the phone while her husband talked us through resetting the inverter. We were able to get the power back up and running pretty quickly, which we really appreciated. It showed great care and support from the hosts.
One small piece of feedback was around the fire pit area. When we arrived there was quite a bit of weed overgrowth around the space. We actually took it upon ourselves to clear it out to make the area cleaner and safer, especially after a brown snake passed through the area on our first night while we were sitting around the fire pit. Being in nature you expect wildlife, but keeping that area clear would definitely make it feel safer and more comfortable for guests.
That said, Jane handled the feedback with genuine care and professionalism and even offered a goodwill refund, which was a very thoughtful gesture and not expected at all. Her hospitality and communication were greatly appreciated.
Overall we had a lovely stay and would happily return again in the future. A great spot for families wanting a peaceful nature escape with their kids 🌿🔥

Weekend Trip to The Meadow -Byron Hinterlands Domes
We had a great time glamping in this dome, despite the weather being pretty average.
The dome is very spacious, so we did not feel cramped or boxed in like we might have hiding out from the rain in a regular size glamping tent.
On the down side there was not even a rug inside, and the outside mat was drenched, so we had to use our own towels on the floor to dry our feet coming inside.
The rain does get in a bit, which is probably why there is there is just a bare concrete floor. The skylight is a cool feature but unfortunately you can barely see through it and the panoramic window is also made of plastic, so it does hinder the views a bit, maybe more in rainy weather.
Still there is plenty of space, (a lot more than our rooftop tent!) and you have it all to yourself, so we can't really complain.

We had such a fabulous stay at The Arch!
Instructions were clear and the site was just as beautiful (if not more) than pictured.
My partner was lucky enough to spot a turtle in the creek and we had some great stars out on the first night!
Waking up to the view of Wollumbin through the arch was just spectacular.
Thank you to our hosts again for such clear instructions and photos, and thank you for having us!

Perfect spot. PRIVACY 👌 and peacefulness. Plentiful wildlife. Fire pit with cook top above is amazing, the creeks water is crystal clear. Sat in the shallow areas to chill and deeper area to swim. Woke up in the clouds and arch is such a cute photo op. Best part is pet friendly and such a perfect space. Couldn't get my bed obsessed golden retriever to stay in the tent he loved it so much. Dogs slept entire 1hr 20mins home.

Weekend Trip to Barachi by the Creek
We stayed at Barrachi Camp with a mate and honestly had the best time. It was the perfect little escape from Byron — so peaceful, private, and beautifully tucked away on the farm. Peter and Tania have created something really special there, a cosy cabin that feels completely nestled in nature while still being super comfortable. We loved the quiet, the privacy, and just slowing down for a couple of days. We’ll definitely be back, and next time we’ll bring more friends to share this gem. Highly recommend if you’re after a proper reset.

Beautiful location next to a little stream and some very picturesque paddocks.
The paddock we were in was certainly a little overgrown and rugged but this was also the kind of "wild" vibe we were after - perfect for us, but maybe not for everybody.
Phone reception was also very patchy but again, we didn't book a camping trip to sit on our phones.
The communication betwen Jon & his family was great and they came down to deliver some firewood and have a nice little chat.
Great place, great people, great times.
...despite getting caught in the worst storm I've ever experienced in my life. Hopefully future campers have a bit more luck with the weather.

This little tin shack is like going back in time to stay in a timber-getter's lodge. It is full of rustic charm and nestled at the foot of hills, beside and (importantly) in the shade of a stand of large beautiful camphor laurels, with a small creek running below. It really is camping without the tent, but has everything you need in the way of a solar shower, long-drop loo, tanks of water, solar lights and a small fan, gas cooker and large bbq, outdoor firepit, and even a fire-heated outdoor bath to enjoy under the stars, or in our case, a full moon. The deck is large and comfortable with chairs and a hammock which we spent a lot of time in, and the solar nights that come on at night make for a lovely vibe. The wind in the trees and the sound of the wind chime was so lovely to hear and fall asleep to at night, and the cool night's in the comfortable beds made for great sleeps.
Being a tin shack, it does get quite hot especially late morning/midday, but we found shade under the camphor's and loved watching the cows come up close. The creek was really low when we were there as there hasn't been much rain, but it would be so beautiful when flowing in rainy months.
Whian Whian Falls is less than 10 minutes away for a lovely swim to cool of, and we dined at the Channon Pub too which is recommended.
The kids (3 and 1) loved the space to explore, cows to watch, creek and bath to splash in, and fireside hangs.
Peter was such an amazing, responsive, friendly, and kind host.

My husband and I along with our 2 dogs had the most peaceful, relaxing stay on Peter and Tania's property.
Relaxing on the deck and watching the cows graize in the lush, rolling hills was so serene.
Cooling off in the nearby creek, watching our dogs play was so special.

Definitely need a 4wd.

Barachi by the creek is an absolutely magical place. Peaceful, secluded and surrounded by natural beauty while giving you everything you need for a trip away without all the mod cons. Pete and Tania are speedy and effective in communication and are awesome hosts. Cannot recommend this enough. You will not regret your decision to book. Bit of a walk down and back up but that was part of the charm. Earn your holiday!
