A beautiful piece of remnant forest on the bank of the Nerang River, with a swimming hole that is second to none. The tree tent is situated in a small forest clearing overlooking the river rapids. The site has a compact outdoor kitchen complete with refrigerator, an outdoor hot shower, a firepit and a separate composting toilet. Sails are rigged above the tent to provide extra shade and shelter. It's private and shady but only a few minutes from the house. The valley is a gem, only 200 odd people live here. If you love the outdoors - either just to chill or to actively recreate - this place is for you. As an outdoor educator, I have worked and played in the valley and surrounds for more than 25 years and I'm still discovering new things to see and do! Advancetown Lake is a short drive away with paddling, sailing and fishing and no power boats or jetskis (Yeeha!!) There is a mountain bike park on the E side of the dam. You can walk from here to Springbrook and Lamington National Parks and the glow worms at Natural Bridge are a night time "must see".

If you've got time, detour on the Warringa Pool track, which leads downstream from the base of the falls; you'll add another 2 kilometres to the walk and need to allow another 40 minutes to return. Best of all lookout Springbrook National Park has breathtaking lookouts, magnificent waterfalls, dense rainforest and ancient Antarctic beech trees. The park is part of Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage area. These lookouts are often shrouded by cloud, even when the weather is fine and sunny on the coast. For the best views, visit on clear, smoke-free days. Apple Tree Park Apple Tree Park forms part of the Gold Coast Hinterland Great Walk and is just one of many entry points. The starting point for the walk is the Settlement Campground at Purlingbrook Falls. The walk is a 54-kilometre trek through the beautiful Springbrook rainforest. You can do a much smaller distance if you prefer and still take in the great views and tranquillity of the rainforest. Pack your walking shoes, a hat and drink bottle and enjoy. See the birds, hear them chirping, be amazed at the beautiful historic trees. This spectacular location is just 29 kilometres from Mudgeeraba, at the top of the Springbrook range and is the access point for many of the amazing walks in the Springbrook area. A modest set-up in the hills with choice of a provided caravan, your own small campervan, or tent. Gas hot shower shack with adjacent compost toilet provided in the paddock with a view. Neighbours have pigs and cows, and we have loads of wallabies and birds. There is access to 2 lovely forested walks down to a little creek where you'll find a shady picnic spot to rest and wet your feet. Feel free to pick from the circular communal veggie garden adjacent to the shower. 1.2km down the road is a great shady swimming hole on the large Tuntable Creek, also a great picnic spot and area to explore. There is also a dam here which dogs can swim in close to camping. We are only 5 mins from The Channon Tavern and General Store, with many nearby swimming holes, bush walks, and the infamous Protestors Falls on Terania Ck Rd. Eclectic Nimbin is only 15 mins up a scenic winding road, and Lismore is 25 mins away for all your larger shopping needs. The popular Channon Craft Markets is on every 2nd Sunday of the month.
