Located on the stunning Tumut River, where River Red gums are scattered though out the camp,offering shade, privacy, and comfort. Here you have clear Snowy River water at your doorstep. It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking. Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended. During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. Enjoy a local brew and bite to eat at the Tumut brewery. Bahwidgee is just 3km from the Tumut town centre - so close you could ride in, or even walk.

Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. Dogs permitted (see rules).

Camp on the Murrumbidgee River with 300m of total river frontage, giving you plenty of room to spread out among the River Red Gums. Flat campsites provide easy access, with a gentle slope down to the water. Maximum 10 campers. The 15-acre camping area is part of a mixed-farming property (1,500 acres) and has easy access for campervans. The site is 8–10 minutes from Gundagai. A canoer’s paradise! Put your canoe in a few kilometres upstream and finish at the campsite, or simply enjoy the solitude around the fire. A scenic drive following the Murrumbidgee and Tumut Rivers can be taken as an alternative route to Tumut or Gundagai. The site can be used as a base camp for fishing, wineries, bushwalking, and ski fields. There is free firewood for campfires. Friendly, well-controlled pets are welcome, as long as they don’t disturb other campers. Please be mindful that cattle and sheep may be grazing nearby. Children must be supervised at all times, as the river can be fast-moving and become deep quickly. There may also be snakes in the area from time to time. Murrumbidgee water should be boiled, or please bring your own. There are no toilets at the site, and all rubbish should be taken with you. The property owner lives nearby and is available if assistance is needed.

4. Palm Cove On The Murrumbidgee

Palm Cove follows the natural curves of the Murrumbidgee River for 1.6km and is located 20km North West of Wagga Wagga on the Old Narrandera Road. Set up for the aquatic enthusiasts, Plam Cove has a concrete ramp and has fantastic access for almost all of the 1.6km of river frontage. So you can bring a boat or pop a line in from the river bank with ease. BYO kayaks or you are welcome to use the 2 that are here. You can take a stroll along the river bank if you like bush walking or just relax around the Gazebo area where the manicured park-like grounds lead to a little sandy beach. With beautiful views up and down the river, this is one of the Riverina's best river properties which we would love to share with Hip Campers.

We had a fantastic Christmas stay at Wayne’s place. Riverfront, mown grass, dogs off leash as long as they stay in the campsite bubble, river floating and fishing. What’s not to like. We will be back. Thanks Wayne.

What a beautiful riverside location! Wayne and his dogs were so friendly and welcoming and the directions and signage to the camp were clear and super easy to follow. We arrived Christmas Eve and were able to get a great riverside spot for 3 nights of tranquility with our dogs. It filled up pretty quickly with more campers on Boxing Day, but we left the next day, so it wasn't an issue for us. We will definitely be back, keeping the 'peak dates' in mind. Thanks Wayne.

This was a really beautiful spot to camp. Lots of birdlife, open space. We camped right up by the waters edge and enjoyed a sitting in the river. The sunset view from the top of the hill was well worth the walk up.

Wayne was awesome to communicate with and met us on arrival at his beautiful property. Gorgeous river and spacious campsites to choose from, nice and green despite being nearly Christmas. Local town close by for all you need. The platypus in the river remained elusive for out short one night stay. We will be back!

Amazing farm stay. We would 100% recommend. It was peaceful, relaxing and the views are magnificent. We took a stroll up to the top of the hill and watched the sun set. Absolutely stunning.
