CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles.
CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush.
CAMP 5 similar to camp 3 in the bush and completely private great for a get together with friends.
CAMP 6 is the very top of the mountain with a long wide strip of cleared area with bush on both sides and a window at the end to the valley below, very private, must be fully contained and would suit most vehicles, may lose traction if pulling a heavy caravan or trailer.

We looked for alternative ways of living 6 years ago so we purchased 220 acres to build an off grid camping/eco resort.
The property consists of a straw bale house, Tipis, Cottages, 5 stars shared facilities (hot showers, flushing toilets - disable toilet ), outdoor kitchen (gas bbq, pizza oven, all kitchen utensils, pots ), solar system and worm farm septic system.
The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.
They are designated walking tracks around the property with all variable lengths & difficulties.

There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV.
The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym.
You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks.
Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam.
There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities.

The facilities of the camping are quite luxurious some guests labelling them "better than at home" so you can enjoy the bush experience & still have the comfort of a home.
Here you can discover amazing wildlife such as kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, cockatoos, lyre birds and a lot of other birds (designated bird drinking stations through a WIRES program which has a lot of success.)
Bring a camera and take in the incredible sights such as wildlife, cliffs, caves, and a magical view of Mount Yengo and Moruben from the top of the property.

"Dael's Mill" is a charming 2 bedroom cabin with a rich history, dating back to the 1800s. Set upon a breathtaking 50-acre retreat nestled a the foothills of the Watagan Mountains, midway between Sydney and Newcastle. Dael's Mill offers a uniquely horse-friendly escape where guests have the option to bring their beloved ponies for midweek or weekend stays, or enjoy an intimate escape in the mountains, to slow down, recharge, and reconnect.
The cabin accommodates 4-6 guests and is equipped with self-contained amenities including:

We offer camping and indoor accommodation.
Our property is located on a relaxed 5 acres at the gateway to the Hunter Valley. Enjoy the lush forests and views of the mountain nearby. There's a number of great lookouts nearby if you're up for a walk.
The Barn accommodation is great for groups who enjoy the outdoors. Enjoy your outdoor adventure with open living and eco tourism at the foot of the Watagan Mountains. Wildlife and bush tucker walks available.
Firewood provided for your indoor fireplace. You will have access to a camp oven and rotating grill, as well as a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. There are toilet and shower amenities, and access to drinking water.
There is phone reception in certain spots and limited wifi. There is no TV.
The barn can accommodate sleeping for 10+ and features two double beds, two single beds, one couch, two air mattresses and five floor mattresses. There is also a fully equipped gym.
You will need to bring your own sheets, pillows, sleeping bag etc for added comfort. Sleeping close to the fire upstairs is recommended in the cooler months. Camping is optional with nice flat spots near the dam under sheoaks.
Our campsites are equally as beautiful. Chill out in the shade by the dam during the day. Firewood is provided and you're welcome to use the camp ovens and the rotating grill, but if you get stuck cooking on the open fire there is a microwave, electric hot plate and kettle. These are situated downstairs in the barn a short walk from site. A great swim in the 50m dam.
There is access to toilets, showers, drinking water and rubbish facilities.
Your furry friend is welcome to holiday with you.

2 nights at Wanderlust Retreat
Beautiful place. We would definitely go back again for some peace and quiet in the wilderness. Distance is not too bad as well given that it’s only 2.5 hours away from Sydney.
Only thing I would want to have differently would be a quick touch up on the trail markers/ropes for the nearby trail. Some of the trees where the markers/ropes are placed have fallen. Nonetheless still an amazing place. 15/10 overall!

Weekend Trip to Wanderlust Retreat
A tranquil place with good amenities. The bell tent was perfect for two, and there were plenty of areas to explore around the camp - no need to leave at all. It was the ideal quiet weekend getaway, and the stars at night were absolutely beautiful. Loved the chickens and geese’s roaming ☺️

The bubble hotel was such a special experience! The bubble comes with everything you need, air conditioning and a heater to ensure that you stay at the perfect temp all night, the host is lovely with great communication and super hospitable

Matt and Jenna are super friendly and helpful.
The land was beautiful and we loved that we could explore some bush tracks on the property. The amenities were nice and clean and they even have a family friendly shower room which was really helpful! We will definitely be back.

Went as a couple to Acacia Cottage and it was perfect for what we wanted, super modern bathroom and kitchen. Big comfy bed, big porch, and felt like a bit of luxury nestled in the campsite. This would also be a great option if your friends all camp and you want to treat yourself/dont fancy doing a tent as the site is easy to walk around to where all the campers are!

We had the most beautiful night at the Bubble Hotel. The space was cosy, clean and so special since we could bring our dogs along! We were so lucky to book during the winter deal, which gave us the guest house, fire pit and fairy lights – these made the night feel extra special and we probably wouldn’t have been able to splurge on them otherwise.
Sitting by the fire pit under the fairy lights was such a highlight and waking up to kangaroos hopping by at sunrise honestly felt magical. The only little hiccup was that someone walked into the guesthouse in the morning, even though we’d been told it was private – but it didn’t take away from how special the stay felt.
Overall, such a unique and memorable experience – one we’ll always treasure and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a magical escape in the Hunter Valley.
