Weekend Trip to Bush Paddock near Stroud

We absolutely loved our time on Cherie’s property. She is a fantastic, and generous host. The location is outstanding and there are so many wonderful amenities. The kitchen facilities, dining area, outdoor fireplace, fire-pit, bathroom/shower, and awnings provide a wonderful ambiance and experience. Our group will be back.

1 night at STAR GAZING BUBBLE HOTEL

The view of the stars was perfect, could only see the brightest ones from inside the bubble but just rugged up with blankets and sat on the chairs outside. Was lovely with the fire! The wine glasses were a nice addition and the bed was nicely made up with plenty of bedding and extra blankets. Hosts were lovely, stopped in to greet us but otherwise left us be. Kept an open line of communication with us and were very accommodating, offered us to pick some excess citrus, would definitely book again, it was a lovely spot.

Claudio was an amazing host - I was comfortable chatting with him from booking to check out! The property and bubble is amazing. A great place to gaze at stars and have a romantic night away. Makes for a super fun date night from Newcastle!

We had such a lovely stay over the long weekend, the views and surroundings were so lovely and peaceful! The place was perfect to relax with friends and enjoy some wildlife. Debora was a lovely attentive host who made us feel at home. Would strongly recommend this place, we will be returning!

3 nights at Carawirry Forest Escape

The cottage was a stunning place to spend the weekend even though it rained so we didn’t get to explore as much of the bush as we would have liked. Loved the maps which greeted us with so many surprising options to explore. We walked lyrebird and yowie tracks which were challenging but very rewarding. No lyrebird sightings this time round but definitely worth the climb up the side of the mountain. Had a lovely time chilling with the walleroos in the outdoor tub after that one!

Cute little shielded area at the back of the property, shame it was a bit cloudy at night so the stars weren't as visible but none the less my partner and I had a good time.

Weekend Trip to Mt Nellinda Campsite

We spent one night in the Lil House. Everything was well prepared and equipped. Even wood in the firepit for the evening. We were surprised that we even had eggs, butter, bread, some vegetables, fruits, coffee, milk and many other things to prepare our own breakfast. Our dog was happy to run around unleashed and we had a great time.

We had a beautiful time at the tent, we spent a quiet and nice NYE and enjoyed all the beaches around the area, just like we wanted it. Location is great, near big towns but also secluded to have some rest time, whilst facilities are comfortable to have a chill and restful time in nature.

I have a small private property with grass campsites by a tidal outlet to Port Stephens harbour. We do not offer secluded camp sites away from other people on large acreage. You can spend your days fishing, kayaking or enjoying Nelson Bay and surrounding areas and beaches which are only 15 minutes away. Guests have the use of a retreat shelter/fire place/BBQ area and wifi. Campers must try to be self contained bringing their own water, toilet and shower. Sorry, no caravans over 20ft. Suite solo travellers, couples wanting a quiet weekend and LGBT friendly. We do have available tank, rain water for drinking, a toilet and hot shower, microwave and free wifi available for those who cannot be totally self contained. Yes there are mozzies because you are near water, so bring repellent. Pets are welcome but must stay on a leash throughout your stay. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times. Please BYO firewood. Fires are only permitted when there are no fire restrictions and in the designated fire pit and designated fire pit area for your own fire pit. Children 16 & under stay for free. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. WE HAVE 2 DOGS that are people friendly., who love to meet new fury friends , they do have the run of our property . Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away. Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels. While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Unfortunately we no longer have parties, including 18ths, 21sts etc.

The Branch River Retreat

Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. We are located on a wide river estuary, offering sites in open paddocks, secluded among trees and beside dams. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.
